Job was completed exactly as requested. They went out of the way to provide exactly what we wanted and even checked in the following year to and fixed discrepencies for free.

On March 11, Sean Bartz came to my house to review my yard and discuss what I wanted done for 2023. Several of the Japanese grasses he planted last year never took and the first thing we talked about was how he would "gladly replace them" since his company moved them from one spot and they promptly wilted. We reviewed the list and he said "I need until Tuesday (which would have been 14th)" to get back to you. As of March 30th, I've heard NOTHING. I have texted Sean multiple times and I called his office twice and weas told I'd have my estimate by the end of the day each day I phoned in. And I GOT nothing. Meanwhile, I gave his colleague his number and he talked to her about fixing her yard the same day. Why was I ghosted? I have no idea. My yard is small and if you look at his site, it's all about huge paver jobs. Maybe he doesn't like gay people. Maybe he doesn't like liberals. I just don't know. But ghosting a paying customer who you A) Owe plants to, B) have gotten referrals from and C) gotten great reviews from in the past as well as kudos and likes on all social media because you want to support them, is a pretty crappy way to treat clients. So when you promote your mission statement as being a customer-centric company and you ghost an existing client, I tend to think you are a fraud. Good luck dealing with this guy. He sure does bring the charm. but he will treat you as if you're dead when he wants to and he's not even brave enough to speak his truth.

Impressive! Sean Bartz and his team were professional, hard working, and efficient. We had 3 projects. Mason was informed and knowledgeable as we discussed the projects for the estimate, which came in timely and at a reasonable price. They went above and beyond in working with us on scheduling and recommending best solutions for the retaining wall project. We also appreciated their veteran recognition discount. Awesome!

I scheduled an estimate with this company and they failed to show up. I really hate when I schedule my time accordingly to meet potential contractors and they can't fulfill what they were scheduled to do - simply arrive on time. A complete lack of respect for my time. Unappreciated.

When we contracted with Bartz Landscaping in November 2019 (after getting estimates from three contractors), their BBB rating was A+. Now it is down to C+, and I can see why. We had a problem with rainwater flooding in our back yard, and Bartz provided two options, a yard length drainage ditch (rock filled) or French Drain (with no ditching necessary) Strongly recommended was the installation of the supposedly much superior French Drain, eliminating the need for any ditching, and it was this for which we opted. This was done in November 2019, but the flooding continued afterward (it would drain after an hour or more, but we were told that there should be no pooling whatsoever with the French Drain). They came back a couple of times to make some minor modifications, but none of them were effective. The only way to eliminate the flooding was for me to dig my own partial trench, something that should not have been necessary given the French Drain. When I asked them to replace my trench with a “professional” one as part of the original contract to alleviate the flooding, since the French Drain had not lived up to their promise, they said this was extra and would require additional cost. Supposedly an estimate was sent, but it was never received - The following was my last correspondence with the contractor on 11/09/2020, to which there was no response; "When you send estimate, include diagrams for both the estimate work and the no-charge options (i.e; remove pop up and recontour exit area). The original estimate never arrived for the creek bed and pipe extension. I do not agree that this should be considered additional work, as the original goal was to eliminate the pooling completely, which the French Drain alone has not done. Nonetheless, send the estimate and we will decide. Thank you" Since there was no response to this final email, I felt that the contractor wished not to be bothered by me anymore. Having already sunk $1500 into the French Drain which, at best, was only partially effective, I opted not to waste more money with them to do something they should have done for free as part of the original promise to alleviate the flooding problem. I lost confidence in their alleged “expertise” in drainage. Also, note that the response statement "we made professional suggestions and they were not followed (due to not accepting the proposal) is not accurate. We were given two alternative proposals originally, creek bed OR French Drain, the latter being strongly recommended over the former as much superior eliminating any need for any type of creek bed. It turned out that a partial creek bed was needed after all, which I dug myself. There was never any discussion to accepting BOTH proposals, especially since the French Drain was supposed to stand alone to eliminate the problem without any ditching.

The patio looked very nice and beautiful. From the very start of he planning peocess through execution had a great experience. Very professional and skilled folks. Addressed all my concerns very promptly. Highly recommend Bartz landscaping for landscaping, patio or deck projects.

The French drain was well done. Unfortunately gravel and dirt ended up on the neighbor’s property and wasn’t cleaned up. The neighbor isn’t happy. I called and left messages, texted pictures, aNd tried to reach the owner. I haven’t received a response. Not exactly helpful on keeping good relations with neighbor.

I hired Bartz Landscaping to overhaul my small backyard. It had layers of years and years of old landscaping, wood, pavers, etc and a lot of pachysandra. It was an inhospitable environment. We also had some poison ivy. Sean's crew sprayed a few times over the course of a few weeks to make sure the PI and pachysandra were dead. Then, all in one day, a crew of five guys came, completely dug out the yard, removed all of the plants we didn't want, filled the yard back in with new soil, seeded and mulched along the back fence. It has been about two weeks and we have a yard full of grass for our dog (and us) to run around in. It was in incredible transformation. Exactly what we expected and wanted. Sean was easy to communicate with. I prefer texting and he accommodated that very well. His crew was very nice and they seemed to be having a good time as they worked. We will definitely call Bartz Landscaping again. Thank you!

We used Bartz Landscaping to redesign our flower beds, re-sod a large portion of our yard, and to run an exterior drain. We were very pleased with their work. Sean was very attentive to our job needs and went the extra mile during the work to ensure everything was being completed to our satisfaction. His crew was punctual, clean, and performed the work well. Additionally, we found Bartz to be very reasonable with their rates. We highly recommend them!

Bartz Landscaping provided an excellent service, while maintaining professionalism, courtesy, and dedication to their trade. Promised a lot, but couldn't deliver a quote on time. Difficult to get a hold of. Every time Sean promised something by the end of day, it arrived a week later or not at all.

Sean and his team are great to work with. We have hired him to do two different projects and both have turned out very well. He is fair, prompt, knowledgeable and very professional.

they got in touch with me and I explained what needed to be done and the gentleman said he would come by look at the rock and give me an estimate. At the end of the conversation he asked if I was paying this out of pocket Or if it was insurance and he needed to be licensed and bonded. I responded it was insurance so I did not care about price. He never showed for the estimate and has never answered or returned any of my phone calls. Apparently he’s not licensed or insured

Company was responsive by phone but did not show up for their appointment to do landscaping. Rescheduled the work, and again they did not show up.

Sean had good ideas about what would work. The laborers were great!

We have a small, but hilly yard. Sean and his crew did a great job of cleaning up the beds and trimming all the bushes and trees. First rate job!

I found Bartz Landscaping on Angie's List and was impressed by their website. My experience with Sean Bartz and Bartz Landscaping was nothing but top-rate and phenomenal. Sean was very responsive and set up an appointment to come meet me just a couple of days after I initially called. He provided me an initial cost range on site and followed up with the proposal. The pricing was very reasonable for the work. Sean was patient as we worked through some back and forths between my wife and I on what exactly we wanted. Sean was able to fit us in on a tight timeframe and completed the job a day earlier than he initially thought he could come out which worked better with our schedule. He and his three employees were professionally dressed and did great work. Their clean up was very thorough and left our backyard looking like it was out of a magazine. Don't let Sean's youthful face fool you. He's a total professional and very knowledgeable. I would hire him again. Highly recommend!

Sean and his team were exceptional. I needed work done before out of town guests arrived and didn’t provide him with much time to get it completed. He happily accommodated us, rearranging his schedule to make it happen. He and his crew were friendly, professional, hard working and delivered a beautiful product. From the estimate to the completion of the actual work, Sean was a consummate professional. Our yard needed a lot of help, in the front and back, and Sean and his team worked tirelessly to get everything done. Existing trees were pruned, mulch was spread, numerous weeds were pulled, new trees shrubs and flowers were planted, beds were edged, and existing river rock was relocated to enhance our mailbox...just to name a few tasks completed. Sean listened to us, when we said we had very little time, and created a beautiful, and minimal maintenance landscape to beautify our home and curb appeal. He and his team were hard working, detailed oriented, professional and knowledgeable. We were grateful for Sean's willingness to answer all our questions, and his desire to keep us informed every step of the way. He often asked was this was we envisioned and were we happy, which we truly appreciated. He even took the time to discuss possible, future projects we have been thinking about.
