Erik came out the early the very next morning. Had our A/C up and running in no time without any up-selling. So impressed I decided to sign up for the annual maintenance program. We have had Erik's folks out and they did a thorough inspection and cleaning of our A/C system. Very good good company!!!

I called this company because it was a local small family business. They responded the same day. He was there for 15 minutes and the problem was fixed. While I understand that there is a standard service fee, he would have guaranteed my future business by cutting the price a little for such a quick job 5 miles from his home. My first impression was limited and unsure.

They've done a pretty good job. They are reliable. They do it right and quickly. They do what they promise. I'm not going to find somebody cheaper, but the value is there.

They have very easy quoting process. They came out and inspected the old system, laid out the options, from the sheer level of the options to its capacity, what you should get for rebates. They work really closely with tranes, so whether you could get trane rebate or finance into tranes, kind of a full service trane dealer. That was real simple and straightforward. Quote was real simple and straightforward to understand. They did all the work in a day. The guys were really courteous, wearing booties, and real conscientious moving around the house, putting all the stuff in and through the basement. It was real good.

After multiple repair calls and frustrations with other local HVAC service contractors last year, we decided this year to get a new upstairs system in our 22 year old home. reviewed Angies list and got three estimates-- two of the three companies were word of mouth from relatives, the other -- Eric Smock-- i selected based on high ratings on the Trane corporate website, as well as his own site. His pricing was very competiive -- but not the absolute lowest cost -- 2nd best, in my 3 estimates -- but his manner, professionalism and understanding of what best fit our needs won him the contract. You just get a good feeling about some -- and when his name is on the truck you can tell he takes pride in his work and service ethic. Better to pay a little more for quality-- you get what you pay for! Other vendors had impressive i-pad apps and calculations, but also wanted to replace refrigerant lines that had no sign of leakage or wear, and involved lots of additional work, hole cutting in the house, etc. And they were offering another brand wth less of a good reputation in my book (Bryant). Finally I've found a conscientious and reliable contractor. He worked with us on scheduling, uses email and good communications before hand to schedule and reminders-- arrived at the appointed hour and his crew were professional, very hard working and considerate-- drop cloths, booties-- very careful and clean and efficient. They introduced themselves and thanked me for our business before leaving-- imagine that. System works like a charm, they also give you a one year service contract - two visits to check system, and also throw in a case of filters. I only wish i had used Eric Smock before. When it comes time to replace the basement unit -- they will get the call.

They do a good job. I signed a contract for them to come twice a year and check to make sure everything is working right.

Eric and his team showed up on time, and they did an outstanding job. The team had a tricky job, removing the old unit and installing the new in a finished basement, it took them almost 3 days to finish both attic and basement. The team is careful, detailed oriented, organized and very clean. I knew Eric Smock is not the cheapest company out there (hence the c rating on price), but a few $'s extra to get the job done right for such a big investment, is worth it. The new system is working great, and living up to the recommendation. We have used the company for yearly maintenance program on my old unit, and have nothing but good experience. We will continue to use them to maintain my new unit.

Removal of the old ac and gas furnace went well. They were punctual, and non-intrusive. I knew from the start that they were charging the highest from the three quotes, and decided to go with them based on previous reports. The problem arose when they said they didn't have enough time to install the humidifier, or give me the water alarm as promised. They said they would return within the week to finish. I called several times about the humidifier and water alarm, they assured me it would be soon. twenty-seven days later they still had not come, citing that they were backed up with work. So I personally returned the humidifier to them. They had the nerve to say I waited too long to return it. I pointed out, that they were to have installed it on the 27th with the other installations and they were the ones pushing the date back. They charged me a fee for returning something never installed. At this point, I'm skeptical about using them for the fall and summer maintenance. I guess nothing is a sure thing, because I still have not received the water alarm. 28 May 2013. Update. I was contacted by Ashlee and she was very sincere about resolving my complaint. They refunded the water alarm and the restocking fee for the humidifier.

He called me back promptly and walked me through the steps to fix this situation on my own without a visit. He called a day later to make sure the problem was resolved. I have had other dealings in the past with him - he is extremely reliable and honest. Would definitely recommend.

We had never used them before but we talked to a few people about their service and price so we gave them a shot. He seemed like a reasonable and professional guy. We called a few other people and they didn't even return our phone calls. He gave us the information we needed and seemed to do a thorough job. It is hard to rate because he was coming to give us a review of what he saw. I hope that he knew what he was doing and he seemed like a reasonable guy and based on that I would use him again until something he said didn't work out. His price was reasonable. We have two units, one in the attic and one in the basement.

The job went extremely well. I was very pleased. Eric returns calls and gives all the information you need to make a decision. He will come out and give you an estimate of the different levels of energy efficient AC units and furnaces. No high pressure sales tactics. Very trustworthy! They cleaned up the space afterwards and let me know I could call them anytime with questions or concerns. By the way, Eric Smock only works in Frederick County, MD. at this time. I had other contractors out to give estimates, but they mostly concentrated on how I could finance through their company.

He was friendly, kind, reasonable, punctual, knowledgeable, and thorough.
