It was excellent! We did two bathrooms - floors and walls retiled and a walk-in shower enlarged with a glass enclosure in the master bath. The installers were punctual, friendly, professional and skilled. We couldn't have asked for a better crew! Scott was there when we needed him and our guys, Jessie and Eddie, did a complete and perfect job! We called Epic because of the wonderful job they did on our kitchen a few years ago where Jeff and Tracey did excellent work. Epic has a 2 for 2 success record in our books!

Very sloppy work. Sent a new employee with little experience who brought his best friend to assist. Had to ask assistant not to come back after he trimmed his beard in my guest bath and left it all over the place. The other guy was left to finish the job alone. Scott the owner promised to correct the poor work that was done and he never called me back. I have had to hire someone else to fix it up.

Scott said it was going to be a 3 day job-it took almost 3 months. Their employees are very sloppy and do not care what damage they do to the house. They do what they please-I had an issue with my ice line and once I complained they had to come back and change. The contractor started yelling at me-he was extremely rude and arrogant. I will never hire them again

Description of Work: I used Epic through Home Depot for kitchen remodeling. Scott, the owner is cordial and likable, but don't let this fool you. Brian, the onsite lead assigned to our project was rude not only to me but also to other contractors that were in the home. | |What was expected to take 8 weeks to complete took 16 weeks. The extension in time was in large part to Epic trying to balance several remodeling projects at one with one crew. There were full weeks when the kitchen was ready for the crew with no work whatsoever. Multiple calls to Scott, Brian and even Home Depot did nothing yo keep the project on schedule. | |If you are planning a large project, keep looking!

Everything started out well with a punctual first measure and estimate. The second measure that was to verify the design missed a cabinet that would not fit where it was suposes to go. This delayed the process for several weeks because they took a week to order the replacement cabinet during the install. When I called the offices on more than one occasion I was told some one would call me back only to have to call back wandering if I would ever get the return call. The work of installing the cabinets was OK but the electric work they did needed to be corrected by a electrician later because they did things wrong. Some of what they told me with the electric was just plane not right when the electrician I hired came to my house.I say the cabinet install was OK because it was learned after the fact that one cabinet is not plumb and I can see it next to the stove. Problem is that it is to late to do anything because the granite counters went in before it was noticed.

Epic renovated my kitchen a few months ago, and I was very happy with their services and the outcome. They were on time and professional in their work, and did a good job. I found them willing to listen to and address any concerns I raised. I would definitely use them again.

I started working with a kitchen designer at Home Depot on a kitchen renovation for my house in Aspen Hill. I found out that they have only one contractor for the whole area who installs kitchens for them, Epic Kitchen and Bath. Their manager, Scott, came to my house for an initial estimate. Home Depot had a special on kitchen estimates for only $49, which I thought was very reasonable. Scott seemed friendly and knew a lot about kitchens. He seemed like someone I could work with. I finished the planning process at Home Depot, and Scott came out for a more detailed look at the kitchen to see if the design would really work and to provide a more detailed estimate. The estimate for the whole kitchen replacement seemed reasonable to me. I wanted them to remove one wall and take out the soffit above the old cabinets in order to have room for taller cabinets, and they said they could do all that. I found out that Epic had been installing Home Depot kitchens for something like 13 years, so I reasoned that if people didn?t like their work, Home Depot would have found another contractor. The workers did a good job, and I didn?t have to wait a long time for them to complete things. The wiring in my old house is very weird, and they figured out how to re-do some switches and outlets. They did a careful job of installing the cabinets, etc. I wasn?t completely satisfied with the drywall work. Parts of the walls were not completely flat. I think if I would have insisted they would have come back to re-do some of it, but I wanted to paint the walls before the cabinets were hung, and they finished the drywall on a Friday, so I didn?t want to delay the project and I just tried to patch a few areas myself before painting. They did make some scratches on my new vinyl flooring when they moved the new refrigerator. I think that could have been avoided, but ?nothing is perfect in this life. They wound up doing more work than was outlined on the estimate. They took up a couple old layers of flooring that were on the kitchen floor, and installed lauan plywood over the old tile. When Scott gave me the bill for the extra work, it seemed way too high, and he agreed to change it and charge me by the hour for some of the work. I agreed to that. In all, I would say they were professional and responsive to my concerns.
Description of Work: Removed old metal kitchen cabinets, removed wall between kitchen and dining room, re-located light switches, outlets. Installed new cabinets and appliances. Did all plumbing, dry wall and electrical work involved.

I originally thought things went fairly well since the shower and floor looked nice and rated them a B overall; but due to subsequent issues that I have been unable to satisfactorily resolve, I must downgrade the rating. After the initial shower installation I was informed during a shower door estimate that that vendor could not install a door because the back wall was out of plum and they couldn't guarantee it wouldn't leak. Since Home Depot was the general contractor, I had to go through them to resolve the issue. Epic sent their project manager, Brian, out to see what it would take to fix the problem and he was so argumentative and rude, I asked him to leave. We disagree on how the wall got out of plum but regardless of the causes basic tile principles state always ensure the wall is plum before you tile. I am trying to resolve the issue somehow with Home Depot. Meanwhile, my bathroom has been unusable for 3 weeks. There were some other things that could have been handled better. The estimate was hand written without a lot of detail behind what was included and what was not included. Details of things like moving or extending water pipes or installing soap dishes and shelves in shower were never discussed during estimation however those are common components of a shower conversion. Turns out all of those items are extra charges and I was not informed of this until they were half way done with the job. I was glad that We were able to come to agreement on a fair extra charge. Another issue we had was that the dye lots of the tile we picked up from Home Depot were different. The installer did not check the tile before putting it on the wall or notice they were different when putting them up so a couple of the tiles had to be removed and re-installed. We were lucky to find another box of tile in the dye lot we needed but it did result in an extra emergency trip to Home Depot on my part to continue the job. The cleanup inside my house was fine but they did not clean up where they worked in my driveway. The shower head is leaking slightly, and I was told it was the design of the shower head. When the shower head was removed there is still a slight drip.
Description of Work: Bathroom remodel - converted existing tub to ceramic tile shower and put in ceramic tile floor
