Our project manager, Manny, and crew supervisor, Jorge, did a great job with our roof replacement today! Manny was very communicative and helpful throughout the repair. Jorge and the crew were efficient and did a very thorough clean up when finished. Our only concerns revolve around the initial reason we scheduled a repair, which was due to a ceiling leak after a rain storm. The sales person that came out was very nice and informative. He told us that while he could not determine the source of our leak, we needed a new roof. However, in our naivete, we forgot to wait on our insurance assessor before making any decisions. Post insurance assessment, we had a hard time getting answers from either the project manager or sales manager, and just moved forward with the replacement hoping it fixed our issue. Long story short, while the level of service and overall customer service were great, we had a major repair done that may not even be related to our issue. Our roof likely could have waited for a repair. Service=excellent! I would 100% recommend, just make sure you actually need a new roof.

The sales process seemed good, and I felt that they were not trying to "con" me into unnecessary things. They did what another company didn't, go into the attic. That made me feel better about their full estimate of work. Unfortunately, the install is where things went awry. While the project manager kept me updated throughout the process, I found that things were missing or not done correctly after the project was completed. One major item that we discussed in the sales process was venting. My existing soffits did not have ventilation. The sales person described a specific method to add more ventilation and even drew out how it would work. He had to rebuild the quote, and apparently he never re-added that item. Not knowing what all the codes/phrases were, I didn't realize it wasn't in there. The quote said "vent" which I assumed was what we discussed. It was not. After a lot of back and forth with the company, they admitted they discussed that option with me but had apparently removed it from the final. I ended up having to pay to have soffit vents drilled in and installed to get proper ventilation. Not thrilled by that. The company didn't really offer any comps for it either. It was "sorry we missed it" and that was it. The second, more significant, issue was the leak. I have a covered front porch with roof directly above. Abutting that roof is the master bedroom siding. I suddenly started noticing water running down the inside wall of the porch when it rained. Their first attempt at fixing it was some unknown solution. They never said what was done. After I found the leak happening again, their next attempt found the root cause. Instead of installing proper flashing (3-4" from the roof under the siding), they only put about a 1" flashing in. During more significant rains, water was getting up and over that flashing and down behind the siding. As of yet, they have not responded with a long term solution. The temporary one was to "caulk the roofline against the siding" where the leak was located. Perfect. A brand new roof with temporary caulk. Until they adequately resolve that issue, I definitely do not recommend using Home Genius Exteriors for any work.

The sales pitch was a bit concerning. The sales person played the old worn out go extremely high and see where the customer will bite card. That did not work so the price started to come down to a more reasonable level but still high in my mind. Also scare the customer card was played as well into believing more needed to be done than actually did. We finally settled on a price that was within 10% to 15% of my ideal price range. Also we only replaced the upper level roof but not the garage lower level since the lower level was not leaking. Erie Insurance was no help at all as with all insurances they are basically a rip off! Unfortunately all of these companies are the same in that they will attempt to gouge you at every turn. Buyer be ware. Time will tell if I made the right decision. Would I use them again? Maybeâ ¦. I do not intend to replace the lower roof for at least another 10 years. By then we will see if the upper level roof holds up as advertised.

Only good things to say .. Arrived at 6am and ready to work.. Joe and Wyatt were involved throughout the whole project. Even when some simple mistakes happened. For instance, my window screen was ripped buy a flying rouge roof shingle. I call Joe & Wyatt and within a 1/2 hour it was taken care of. With anything in life you have to communicate with the GC and Project manager . Stuff happens ,, Home Genius Exteriors came threw on everything they promised. I definitely recommend Home Genius Exteriors . Make sure you ask for Jow and Wyatt.. I'll provide an update when we get our first big.. David T Suchocki

Great product and service. They explained everything to me about the roofing system. On the day of the install, the crew showed up at 7am and got to work. They were very efficient and worked together like a "well oiled machine." They did a great job! My neighbors even noticed.

They responded quickly to any of my questions and concerns, and all of their people, from estimators and project managers to the roofing crew themselves, were knowledgeable, thorough, friendly, and professional. Had our roof replaced, looks like a clean install. Trey was easy to talk to and was very assuring. We'll see how the roof holds up against this weekend's snowstorm or whatever's coming our way. Yes I copy pasted my own review from Google Reviews.
