I have never had a worse experience with movers. And I'm pretty sure this is not a real company, just a rude, creepy dude who rents a Budget truck and sends random people to move your stuff. If my review helps one person decide to go with another moving company I would feel better about how upsetting and frustrating my very stressful moving day was. I found this moving company when I was told that my regular movers were booked for the date I needed to move into my house. I saw that here were a few reviews here and there for this company that detailed nightmarish experiences, but I figured they were just exaggerating. I was very wrong. I'll try make this as brief as possible, but it was quite an ordeal. I reserved the movers, paid my deposit, and got an email confirmation with the date and time. On moving day, they didn't show up. After a reasonable amount of time had passed, an hour or so, I called to find out what was going on. They had no idea who I was or any record of my reservation. My point of contact was a somewhat rude guy who wouldn't tell me his name. He eventually told me a team was on their way - 5 hours later. He promised some discounts for us for the inconvenience, but was not at all apologetic. He told me I should feel lucky they were even showing up. We were frustrated at this point, but we figured hey - at least they're coming. Then the fun began. We were moving from a 2-bedroom apartment and didn't have a ton of stuff, yet it took them 4.5 hours to load the truck. I've used movers 6 times, and they have never, EVER taken more than 2 hours to load a truck. I had reserved 3 men, but only 2 were available for the first hour. At some point, another truck came and a bunch of random people were in my apartment, moving my things around. The other truck disappeared and finally a third guy showed up. We start to notice this creepy guy on his cell phone lingering around our building. After the move we discovered that it was the contact guy, and he tried to stay hidden. It was really, really weird. At one point I saw the movers literally kicking my boxes in the truck. They stopped when they noticed me, but it was pretty telling of the quality of work these gentlemen did. When the truck arrived at my new house to unload, they turned on us. I am aware that their policy is that you must pay the movers before they unload the truck. What I was not aware of was that they practice extortion. The contact guy became belligerent and rude and made threats. He demanded that we pay nearly $1,000 in cash despite the quote being under $500. He threatened not to let our things come off the truck until he had the cash. He refused to honor any discount he offered us for the movers being 5 hours late, and he refused to honor the promise of deducting the deposit I had already paid on my credit card when I reserved the movers. It was an absolutely upsetting experience to be forced to pay an exorbitant amount of money just to get your stuff back. In the end, some things were damaged and we paid way too much for a crappy experience. I'm not sure if their plan is to upset people who are stressed out and exhausted so that they just fork over whatever money they want in order to have the ordeal come to an end, but they ended up the big winners, and we were left really upset. Don't use this company. Just don't do it.

I have used Green Wheels multiple times for multiple moves over the past 3 years and they have been wonderful. They were extremely careful with my antiques and there was no damage. Moving is one the most awful experiences in the world but working with these guys makes it almost bearable.

After getting an estimate for 462 dollars (3 movers and a truck for a estimated 5 hours plus one hour of travel) I hired Green Van Lines to move me from my 900 sq foot 2 bedroom apt to a 3 bedroom house. They showed up about an hour and fifteen minutes late (not really their fault, it can be a pain to get a truck onto Fort Meade). There were only 2 movers when they got there (instead of the three that were part of the estimate) and the truck was too small. The two movers they sent were very polite and professional, but (probably due to the size of the truck) were very slow. Even after throwing out my washing machine, dryer, and sofa the truck was still too small. It took approx. 5 hours to load most of my belongings onto the truck when it should have taken 3 hours at most, likely because they had to fit everything in like a game of tetris. The next day I had to rent a truck and load/transport everything that didn't fit the first day myself. As a plus, they were incredibly careful of my stuff (much more than I would have been). The only thing that broke was the glass from one picture frame, and that was more due to me packing it badly and not lack of care on their part. There was also no damage to either property, which was a first for me.

The entire experience was fantastic. We had absolutely no breakage or damage in our positions or in our house. They were courteous, hardworking, professional and very thorough. Even though we had 2 truck loads of items and the date was moved due to the a problem with closing and then moved up quickly due to Hurrican Irene, they were responsive and easy to work with. Hosaiah was the foreman and I couldn't be more pleased! I move a lot and have worked with many movers. I would say that this was the best experience I have ever had! Plus the price was outstanding and I have 7 other bids for the same move!
