They are a sub-contractor for Home Depot. Don't let this negative statement turn you from Home Depot. They were great in getting all of my work complete and done right no matter how many times it took to get done! My work started April of 2013. The countertop was measured, to start off, incorrectly, put in unprofessionally. So we kept calling, when I say calling I mean weeks and finally had our calls returned by Bob Stoffer and he came over and agreed that it was measured incorrectly and put in incorrectly so it would have to be redone. This is now July 1st. The Company re-ordered a new Elkay sink and Quartz counter top, it took another 6 weeks. That countertop was cut incorrectly, not by out request but by Continentals request. I wanted the small bowl on the right side they wanted it on the left side. They tried to remove it but burnt the top so they had to replace the counter the third time, also to add the frustration, we find out up until this time, the first two counters were not level??? This is now September 2013..So if you are thinking of countertop work at Home Depot, ask for any other contractor than Continental Surfaces

Working with Continental was a disaster from the very beginning. When the template was made for our countertop, the person who came to make the template was not truthful about the layout and how the stone would be seamed. We had to fight to have the countertop made the way we wanted. This was after we already talked about this with Home Depot from the very beginning. It took more than a week of back and forth negotiations to get the countertop to even be made the way we wanted it. This added on another week of time to receive the countertop. In general, their customer service is a joke. They list hours on their paperwork of 7am-7pm, I was only ever able to reach them between 9-4. Even during that time, they hardly ever answered the phone. At times it would ring and ring and ring, other time I would wait on hold and it would say I was a number in line, then when I would get to #1 it would ring and ring and go to voice mail. We were promised a turn around time of 2-3 weeks after the template was made and the whole process took 6 weeks. We were unable to finish our kitchen for a very long time. I would not recommend using Continental. Silestone is a great product, but I would look elsewhere for an installer. Don't use them.
Description of Work: Contracted though Home Depot, we ordered a Silestone countertop, undermount sink, and installation of both.

See above:I spent a great deal of time on the phone checking with Home Depot and Continental to correct what had gone wrong. The only reason that this job was completed was due to the installers that came on the second day. BY the way Continental called me the Monday after the grouting was done to "advise me that the grouting would be done on Wednesday" even though it had been completed Saturday. When I called Home Depot they said this "had never occurred before with Continental" I wrote a letter to the general manager, I got a response from the kitchen department manager offering a 100 dollar credit toward the plumbing job (which was a separate item in the contract) which I accepted. However, it was not any real compensation for the stress of an installation gone wrong. I don't want any other compensation, I just hope others do not have to go through the same installation misfortunes that I did.
Description of Work: We contracted with Continental Surfaces through Home Depot in Monroeville.1. A Silestone counter-top with an undermount sink, and a new faucet and a new tile back splash 4" tiles set on pointThe contract included:Day one:removal of old tile backs plash, counter top, sink, faucet.Installation of new counter top, sink, faucet, reconnect sink accessories (disposal, dishwasher, faucet)Day two:Installation of new tile back splash and grouting What actually happened:1. The installers for day one stated that back splash removal was "not on our work order"---IT WAS2. They installed the sink improperly3. The plumber reconnected the sink accessories leaving a leak down to the basement, and disconnecting a side line to the adjacent pantry.4. Day two the tile installers were sent some of the tile we ordered, but then a finish of small glass tiles. ( I accepted this as I didn't want to wait any longer.)5. They were there all day doing the removal and tile installation, I had to cancel the crew I had hired to clean up the house after installation. A positive note; The installers were wonderful, corrected the improper sink install, and insured that the plumber would return to correct the leak6. They could not grout the tile that day. Continental called the next day and said we would be grouted the following week ( 6 days after the install). The installers gave up their Saturday and came back to grout so we would not have to wait.

The installation was excellent. The records were not recorded properly and they had to send someone back again. They have no sense of urgency. I was without a kitchen for months on end. It took way longer to make appointment than necessary.
Description of Work: They installed and sealed granite countertops.
