American Professional Chimney & Masonry

NO SHOW, NO PHONE CALL. Marla is the only person at this company that is attempting to please potential clients. I would NOT recommend this company to perform any work. If a company CANNOT follow thru on appointments how would they complete a job in a timely fashion. Buyer beware of this company.

I chose not to use them for the above reasons.

The work was done efficient, price was reasonable, and staff courteous. I waited to write this review until after we used our fireplace through winter and things worked well.

After my home improvements are finished, I will have them come back to make the appropriate repairs.

It went well. Crew was prompt, laid out tarps to keep carpet clean. Apparently did a thorough job. Nothing too exciting, which I guess is how you might want something like this to go. Good Job!

The chimney inspection and cleaning was procured because of a coupon deal. Very reasonable cost. Two professional workmen, Fernando and a helper, came on time, worked diligently, cleaned chimney with no debris left behind. They inspected the chimney and took photos of the damaged chimney, broken damper, crumbling chimney crown, and the apparatus that keeps out the rain and animals. All cleaning work was explained and an estimate was given for the remaining repairs. I subsequently called American Professional and asked for another date to restore the chimney. Two other professional workmen, Edgar and Jose, came on Monday? and performed the work to our complete satisfaction. All debris and dust was caught on the drop cloths they lay down.

I'm in a hurry so I'll be brief: the were polite, thorough, and informative.

They arrived about 10 minutes early and got right to work. Inspected the chimney from both inside the house and on top of the roof. They let me know that the chimney lining was in good shape but did find a few areas that need repair. I had mentioned that I was interested in wood stoves and was given an estimate for both the repair work if I want to use the chimney as is, and for installing the wood stove. There was no pressure or upsale - they even stated I was good to use the chimney a few times but should look at doing the repairs before heavy use during the winter. Very professional and personable. I will definitely use them again.

It was fantastic. They showed up when they said they were going to show up. The price didn’t change. They got the work on time.

Arrived on time and performed work. Recommended additional work be done on the chimneys. To date, I have not decided whether to perform additional work.

only complaint is they rescheduled morning of appt, just before they were due to arrive, and they were still late. It has been a couple weeks so I don't remember exact details. The work itself was quick and concise.

The job went very well they arrived on time and pointed out some areas of concern that may need fixing in the future and some that should be addressed ASAP. He answered all my questions as this is my first traditional fire place I have every owned. Many of the reviews on Angies list talk about chimney cleaners high pressure sales and scaring you into more work , but I did not feel pressured at all. He pointed out each issue to me so I could see what he was talking about. He clearly has confidence in his price ,work and company and I like that I would recommend them to my neighbors. We are considering a wood burning insert so if I go that direction I will write another review.

We have a three story townhome and it is difficult to get onto the rough. They did some ground inspection with the binoculars but there were no indications in the interior of the chimney that there would be an issue. Our home is about 20 years old and the Chimney has not been used much so it wasn't a surprise. They were fast and thorough and ensured that they left the place as clean as possible

The chimney has been inspected and maintained by the same business for several years. This year a new service man came by and told me that the whole chimney would fall down and needed to be rebuilt. Who do you listen to? It is no different than before.

The worker was prompt, efficient and did a great job.

I called asking about the price to have my chimney swept and could not get a straight answer. I was going to be a new customer, but based on the phone experience I am moving on . . .

I asked for an estimate at the time they came to clean my chimney and I've asked them for a copy of the certificate of liability insurance and sure enough, they did provide both of those items so they were prompt and they delivered what they said they would. They indicated the things that needed to be done based on their inspection. They did what I've asked them to do. They were responsive. They delivered what I asked to do at the time I asked them to and at the time they cleaned the chimney.

I was surprised they were able to clean from inside the house versus outside. I guess they did okay. They were fine. They were neat. They were careful. They were fairly prompt. I was surprised they did it so quickly but that's not my job. They know what they're doing. They were polite, prompt and they were careful with the house interior and so forth. They had a vacuum so they were very neat and they didn't leave any mess.

Initial visit was a general chimney inspection - The two gentlemen who came out were extremely professional, walked me through everything they were doing and gave me recommendations. I never felt pressured to purchase anything and they were extremely knowledgeable. Called back and scheduled an installation of a chimney liner. Again the crew was extremely professional and did excellent work. The woman I spoke with on the phone was amazing. A fantastic experience all the way around. I will definitely use them again if I have any chimney questions/issues.

Excellent! Catherine the manager was communicative and organized. Alex and his team were incredibly polite, trustworthy and efficient. The work only took 2 days and was able to be scheduled almost immediately. We are very happy with the relined chimney and highly recommend American Professional Chimney & Masonry.

It was fine. They came out pretty soon. The quality of the work seems very good. They seem very knowledgeable. They said they could come back and paint it at some point if I wanted to hire them to do that. It was a special and the price was very good. They were all good.

This company is fast and proactive. From scheduling to finish, excellent.

American did the inspection as per the quote and in a short amount of time. The repair list and bill was huge, to the point that it felt like a bait and switch. In other words, come in and do the inspection inexpensively and make it up on the repairs. When I called to get details they wouldn't let me talk to the people that did the actual inspection. They did not take pictures to document what was in the estimate so it was up to me to trust them at their word. I decided to get a second opinion. The 2nd inspection was fraction of what American charged and, while they did confirm a lot of what was in the original repair list, the repair cost was much lower, about 20-25%. Also, the inspector took pictures and included in his write up. Much more convincing if you are asking someone to shell out that kind of money for chimney repairs.
