They responded promptly, showed up on time, did the work as proposed, cleaned up after themselves. Other chimney services had told us we needed to rebuild the chimney ($$$$). American Professional Chimney said the chimney structure was sound and just needed repair and waterproofing. They were upfront about the fact that they couldn't guarantee the fix would work given that the chimney was 80+ years old. It will be a while before we know if the fix succeeded in fixing the problem.

Work was performed by the second crew (first one was not able to do the work). The work was done in a professional manner, without roof damage, and looks to be an excellent job. Would recommend this company to others and would use them again.

Luis and Mario were very thorough, prompt, and professional. They also kept the work orderly, and cleaned up the work area of construction debris at the end of each day. The mortar they used closely matches the mortar around the rest of home's brick and mortar exterior, and the chimney looks almost like new thanks to these two craftsmen!

Let me save you time, don't hire. We hired American to replace our driveway and fix our sidewalk and lay down a new sidewalk. The new sidewalk was put down with stone to "match" our existing sidewalk. It does not match. The sidewalk was put down without consulting us first on stone or cement color. So now nothing matches. And despite repeated attempts and promises to fix the sidewalk nothing has been done for months. So now we are going to have to hire someone different to come out and tear up the work they did and replace the sidewalk correctly. Just save yourself time and hire someone else to do the work.

Excellent!! Rudy & Rudy Jr. were outstanding. Explained the project and provided free estimate, and on my approval, returned early the next morning to do the work. Very professional, friendly, polite, experienced, and kept the work area clean. Highly recommend to others!

For the sweeping of our metal prefab 2-story chimney, the 2 men of APC performed their work in a very professional workman-like manner, only taking 30 minutes. They also quoted the best price for our area in Bowie. My only suggestion is that they find a way to provide feedback as to how clogged it was.

Very smoothly. It started with a cleaning of both chimneys and an evaluation and estimate of the repairs required to ensure that my chimneys were safe to use and not an inlet for water/ice damage. Howard and Santos from American Professional Chimney & Masonry Specialists came promptly, they were very professional and knowledgeable (compared to other chimney specialists that I got quotes from). Howard spent as much time as we needed to understand the work required and the reasoning behind everything. Safety was my main concern and he is certified with the Chimney Safety Institute of America. The actual work then took 5 days - 3 workers the first day and 2 workers the remaining 4 days. Oscar was the main professional who did this huge job. I wish I knew the names of his helpers because he and they could not have been nicer. They were all extremely courteous, quiet, hard working, and kept my house clean inside and out. They were clearly very skilled at doing such difficult work. It was a pleasure to have them in my home. I know I got more than my money's worth. I gave only a B for responsiveness, that was a delay in setting up a date for the work to start - but i have to admit that this occurred around the holidays (Christmas and New Years), so I'm probably being a little too here. I would highly recommend American Professional Chimney & Masonry Specialists to all.

Stellar service! The two young gentlemen who cleaned the chimney could not have been any nicer or more professional. They did a thorough job from the inside and then proceeded up to the roof. It turns out that we need some major work done (flue replacement, brick work, new cap). This is a result of the age of our house and the earthquake this past year. What set these fellows apart from anyone we have worked with before was the videos they showed us which clearly indicated the damage that needed to be repaired. They had multiple shots of the different areas and were most patient in explaining in great detail what needed to be done and why. We could not think of a better company to do the work than American Professional Chimney and Masonry.Specialists. They ARE the ultimate professionals and specialists! Having nothing to do with chimney cleaning but showing you what kind of gentlemen they were: they knocked on the front door after going outside to go up on the roof and asked if we had a wire coat hanger. The UPS driver making a delivery next door had locked his keys in the truck and they wanted to help him out. You could not ask for better proof of character!

Bad responsiveness and communications. On my 1st call I got VM, "Leave a message, we'll return call in 5-10 min." I never received a return call. I called back at a later time/ date and was able to schedule, satisfied with date and price. I was told they would call the night before to give me the time block. No one called the night before. I called after 9 am the morning of the appt to clarify. VM: "We'll call back in 5-10 min." No one called back. I called again after 2 hrs and spoke to someone who said she would have to call the team to get back to me. She never called back. I went out for 30 min to run errands. By 3 pm still no call, now I had to prepare for other commitments so I told them not to come. If I cannot get reasonable estimate of when they will show up so I can schedule my own activities, and cannot get response from the team I cannot use them.

Things went extremely well, and APC&M not only completed the work and cleaned up after themselves, but came out again twice more in the next few months when we weren't sure if we were seeing problems with the chimney work (we weren't, but they explained the features of our chimney in more detail and didn't charge us for the visit). Frustrated! Still waiting on project! They are very hard to get anything to happen. It took several attempts to have someone even come for an estimate. I have tried to schedule the agreed upon work and they were supposed to come two days ago but just never showed. I called and apparently I was no longer on their schedule? Now my next scheduled appt is on the 20th. I am anxious to see if it will actually happen. Otherwise - we like the guy who came out finally to give us estimate, Howard. We immediately agreed on the price.

They set up a scaffold, being careful not to damage my roof, and reset 8-10 rows of bricks, using my old bricks as much as possible, to match the color. They also painted the top plate, which was rusted. It took two days.

They replaced my driveway apron so that my car could enter my driveway without scraping the bottom. Rich and his crew were awesome. Everyone was done on time as as expected. Would definitely hire them again.
