American Professional Chimney & Masonry

Apparently, my subdivision of condos have unique flues for woodburning fireplaces (being 4"). The first attempt, the sweep came but didn't have a small enough brush, so they said they would have to reschedule. I emailed them that week and rescheduled for the upcoming Saturday, but they called to cancel the day before due to a rain day. They did reschedule for the next day, Sunday, and came with a flexible 4" brush and took care of it. The final set of guys were great and professional, and I'd use them again. He even gave me the name of the person to ask for next time, due to the special size of my flue.

The men who came to do the work were polite, punctual, and professional. I would have them come back each year to clean. We moved into this house in August and wanted to have chimney cleaned before using it. We were very glad that we did because we might have had a problem if we had used it due to all of the build up in the chimney. They got on the roof to check the points and cap in addition to giving us "fireplace 101" instructions and pointers,

Very well. They came out to clean our chimney, which hadn't been cleaned for over 15 years. They took pictures inside and outside of the chimney and explained what needed to be done to correct the problems. After the repair work, they took pictures again to show me the results. After installing the gas fireplace, we discovered that the basement damper was slightly open. They came out within a day to correct this problem. Overall it was a very pleasant experience. They are a real pro and I recommend them highly.

This company is absolutely wonderful. They were fast, very competitive on price and the work looks great! I am very glad to finally find a chimney company I can trust. I have had them back out to my property to help with another chimney. I would definitely recommend them to friends and family.

The technician from American Professional Chimney & Masonry showed up on time and was pleasant. Alex explained the whole process prior to preforming the work. They put protection on my hard wood floors not to do any damage and began the work. Once the chimney had been cleaned a full inspection was done and documented. In the future I would like to convert my fireplace and put in a pellet stove and Alex gave me the full measurements of the chimney needed to purchasing the stove. This company a wonderful job and will hire them again for future needs.

Things started out well. I contacted the company to give me a quote and they promptly sent a out a tech who seemed knowledgeable. Then problems started to appear. It took several days after the initial visit and a couple phone calls later to actually get a quote on the work. After getting the quote and paying the deposit, it was next to impossible to get hold of the tech to get a date scheduled. Apparently the company leaves the scheduling up to the tech assigned to complete the work. Well after more phone calls and emails the tech finally calls me back, he sets up a start date and then canceled it the afternoon prior to the date he was to begin working. I had to call the office the next week to get a new date and it took the tech a couple more days to call me back on a start date. When the tech finally did come to start the work he was late and unprepared. He brought the wrong color brick and no jack to prop up the existing work. Twenty minutes in he said he had to leave to get a jack and that he would be back the next day. The next day he came back and advised there was some other work he could not do, although he assured us he did this type of repair job quite frequently. He left about 15 minutes after he arrived and I have not heard back from the guy. I find it hard to believe this company has an A rating on Angie's List. What a waste of my time and money.

Cesar and Fernando were excellent to work with and were very prompt and considerate of minimizing the dust and cleanup. They also pointed out a potential problem that was present but not on the original contract. The problem was verified and fixed, which saved me money in the long run. Great job guys.

Workers were on time, courteous, knowledgeable, efficient, and did a great job in every way. They were also very helpful in pointing out work which may need to be done in the future, and they provided an on-the-spot estimate - much appreciated! I would give them an A+ rating if I could!

They arrived on time (actually a little early) and went straight to work. They were done in less than 30 minutes, and everything inside the house was spotless when they were done. They identified a problem with the chimney crown and provided a quote that so far I can't get a lower quote on.

Dave was very attentive and helpful. He wasn't afraid to tell me that my original plans would not meet code, and offered a solution that would. He and his coworker were flexible with their schedules and worked over labor day weekend, without being asked to.

The company came on time and were professional. They pointed out a problem that had been recently fixed during the inspection, which gave me confidence that they were actually doing the inspection. When I asked questions they had answers.

They never actually did the work. The first person they dispatched wasn't qualified. When he arrived and I explained to him what I had explained when scheduling the appointment, he told me to wait a few minutes while he called a colleague who may know more. After speaking to that person on the phone and explaining what we wanted them to do, he told me we'd need to call back and schedule an appointment with him. I did that, and scheduled an appointment for Monday morning. I took more time off work to stay home and meet this person but when Monday rolled around I got a call saying they weren't sending out their service technicians because there was a chance it would rain. I explained the technician wouldn't have to be outside at all but that didn't matter.

Professional, curteous and clean. Came out to ***** what needed to be done, clearly knowlegeable. Looked for matching chimney stones (we live in historic area). A crew of 2 demolished the chimney (inside terracitta had collapsed and we had plants growing out of it) and rebuilt chimney and cap, installed new metal liner (also installed and removed scaffolding; we have a high roof), and did a great job on the outside, despite the very cold weather. Another crew rebuilt the fire box and installed a new damper. Nice job on inside as well plus gave some extra advice. All done within about a week. Cleaned up after themselves. We had obtained quotes from several companies and found they were very reasonably priced. Would hire again.

There were problems which need attention. Pictures were taken to show me the damages to my chimney and the bricks in the fireplace. I had been told this before so I knew the people were being honest with me. I have scheduled an appointment to have the work completed. I also found their price affordable.

As a new and first time home owner, I inherited a very dirty chimney and firebox, so I reached out to APC&M via Angie's List and I couldn't be happier with the work performed. Howard and Manuel arrived early and got right to work. They laid down a thick blanket to protect the floor from soot, and gave the chimney and firebox a much needed scrub. The inspection performed was just as thorough as the cleaning. I was informed that the chimney itself was in great shape, but that I may want to consider getting some minor repairs done to the firebox insert sometime in the next few seasons. They even provided a price quote so that I am now able to plan and budget for the work to be done at a future date. I asked if it could withstand heavy usage as-is for another season or 2 and I was told that it should be no problem at all. The best news of all, the fireplace and chimney are both ready for the winter months and I no longer have to worry about a fire risk.

Done on time and excellent work. I highly recommend this company.

It went very well. The company's pricing was very reasonable. Customer service was great, everyone was very helpful. The specialists were on time, efficient, and when they were done they took photos of the completed work.

I have used them in the past and we have always been pleased with them. They inspected both of our chimneys (living room & family room). They cleaned the one in the family room where we burnt wood last season. I appreciate that they cover my furniture, etc. before they clean out my chimney. They are always very thorough and professional. I plan to continue to use them in the future.

They were efficient and tidy. Said chimney was unusable, and it would cost $3000 to put in insert and repair grouting.

Hard to know. I had these guys come out to look at the chimney because our home inspector said there could be an issue because some of the morter was decayed and may need to be repaired. What I got was a huge wish list of repairs from the company. Now, it could totally be that the chimney needs 8K in work, but I kinda felt like they were just running up the estimate for things that were not totally necessary. I haven't done anything for six months and no problems. I will let you know if I die.
