Description of Work: Quite pleased with the work done by American Chimney. They cleaned my chimney and did some repair work to the crown. In addition, they replaced some cracked bricks. All work was done to my satisfaction, and they did a great job with clean up.

Description of Work: We purchased a chimney cleaning service using a coupon through Angie's List. The workers arrived on time, were thorough, professional and left everything very neat. While talking to them, I mentioned that we had trouble manipulating the damper (which is on top of the chimney). They told me that many people found it hard to open and close, and that they now had a replacement mechanism that made it much easier. They showed me a model, and my husband and I agreed to have it installed. Since they did not have the part on the truck, they gave me a price for a return visit that matched what it would have been had they been able to install that day. They came back within a week and did the extra work. It was a different crew, but again they arrived on time, were very professional, and left everything immaculate. We couldn't be more pleased and plan to use them again for regular chimney maintenance.

Description of Work: The repaired a crack in the chimney top and put in a new screen to keep critters out. They were terrific folks - quick, precise and followed up.

Description of Work: New retainer wall in front of my house with cinder block and brick, new steps regulation size that lead to my porch (the old ones were to narrow) they also repaired the steps that lead from the sidewalk up to the house. It went very well, in fact I'm in the process of getting an estimate for the back of home to be done.

Description of Work: They did not show up for my scheduled appointment. When I called, the office staff was incredibly rude and acted like they were doing me a favor sending someone out that day, which I needed because I had taken the day off work to meet them. The appointment was for 10am, they arrived at 4:45, and spent approximately 15 minutes working on the fireplace. They said they went up and checked my chimney (amazing since they had only been there 15 minutes), and told me I needed hundreds of dollars worth of work that I subsequently found out I absolutely did not need.

They were very prompt, extremely professional and considerate. They did quite a bit of work on my chimney inside and out. They showed up when promised and went above and beyond their duties. I would use them again in a heartbeat. AMAZING!

Description of Work: They cleaned and inspected my chimney. Found some damages and gave me an estimate of what it would cost to repair them. They also fixed my fireplace screen doors which came loose and I didnt know how to fix. They very very neat and clean.
