Description of Work: I purchased a coupon for chimney cleaning service and emailed with proposed dates. received a prompt reply stating the company could not provide service on the suggested dates. I called to reschedule, was told the person I needed to speak to was not in the office and left a message for a return call. No one ever got back to me. Very disappointing. I expect and almost always receive more professionalism from Angie's List vendors.

Description of Work: They cleaned our very old chimney and made some recommendations we may need to consider in the future. They actually were able to come early but I was out and so they sent someone to accommodate my schedule. They called several times to let me know when they would be there. The technician was super knowledgeable and very pleasant. He cleaned up beautifully and I would definitely call them to do any work in the future.

Description of Work: Cleaned chimney, provided estimate for some needed repairs, went great, nice guys. Had some weather related scheduling issues but they were very communicative and it worked out just fine.

Description of Work: Repaired two chimneys. As far as I can tell it seems to have corrected the problems.

Description of Work: Relining of chimney. Removal of existing damaged clay flue liners. Removal of all debris. Replacement of damaged brick. Reparging of flue. installation and insulation of 2 stainless flue-liners, one for heat/gas hot water, the other for original wood burning fireplace. Replacement of original damper with new damper (spring and pull chain operated) now located at top of chimney, controlled manually at fireplace. This work brought the chimney up to existing code compliance. |Excellent Estimator (Brian). Great repair team (Mauricius and Jose). Highly skilled. Professional. Timely. Very neat and clean work habits. I'd have them do it again. Luckily I won't have to. It will last for many years. It was expensive, due to the severity of the problem. | |One caveat, however, which is why I marked B on quality - somewhere in the early stages of the repair, the water line valve which supplies water to the boiler/furnace (I have a hot-water, radiator system) was closed and the furnace was left on at the end of that day. House got cold that evening but I could tell the furnace was still turned on, but not circulating water. Called Amer. Pro., but the fellow who came couldn't figure it out. So I called the contractor who has the maintenance contract. They came and discovered that the water valve had been closed, and simply turned it back on. Problem solved. Was told that it could have caused damage to the water pump, but as far as I can tell now, everything is running very smoothly a month later.

Description of Work: The chimneysweeps were a few minutes early. They were quite respectful of my furniture and belongings and were not in the least put out that I had forgotten to tell them that there were two fireplaces instead of one. They took care of both and were quite gracious about it. They also showed me how to open and close the flue in each fireplace and the flues were different. They were also very quick and very tidy. I would definitely use this company again.

Description of Work: The chimney sweep and inspection was great once the guys arrived. They were professional, clean and fast. They identified items that needed to be attended to and even assisted us in understanding some things we could fix on our own. We did have trouble communicating with the office. We were scheduled for a morning cleaning, then were moved to mid-day. The night before, we received a message that the crew would be coming by 2pm. They didn't arrive until 5pm and the disconnect between the office and their night manager seemed to have been the problem. We were definitely disappointed by the lack of professionalism on that end. Otherwise, the service was great.

Description of Work: They tore down old chimney from the roofline up, then rebuilt it, adding new tops, and making a nice drip edge. Very professional work, and a pleasure to deal with this company. Would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: Ordered the chimney sweep special based on reviews. Crew came early, and was leaving before their appointment window was scheduled to begin. Within minutes of their departure, I noticed soot on the floor. Upon closer inspection, it was everywhere, on every surface in the living room. On the kids' toys, on the couch. I spent five hours cleaning, washing pillowcases, blankets, area rugs, using an air compressor to blow soot off every ornament on the christmas tree. I complained that night. Reached the office manager the next day. To her credit, she gave me the number of a cleaning service and said they would cover the bill, but the third party cleaner could not come for three days. By then, I'd cleaned almost everything. Cleaners were also a major fire damage company, so not quite appropriate for just a messy job. While I appreciated repeated calls for follow-up, damage was done by poor initial service. |

Description of Work: The caps were missing on the chimneys and we requested the work to be done. They gave us another phone number and after leaving several messages they did not return our call. We will not use them again.
