Thanks so much for the overall A review grades. I noticed an A in every category with the exception of a B in price. I'd like to mention that the $119 coupon is a $50 reduction from our regular price of $169.00 and well under the going rate. I totally get that spending $119 for 20 or 30 minutes of chimney cleaning doesn't feel like an outstanding price. I'm a consumer too and I'm a conservative spender - I have to be! But here's the truth: Sending 2 men out to a home, with driving time, office support, insurance and a multitude of other expenses (yes a multitude! It is truly mind boggling) is very, very-expensive! Thanks again for the great review scores! Even the B in price! Description of Work: Our job was pointing a house made of coarse granite stone. Great job color matching mortar. Went above and beyond by resetting loose stones. Downside is the white mortar beads between stones were between B+ and C-. I think their forte is probably brick. They were good people who tried to please and did for the most part, but they just let the C team do much of the white mortar bead, which is a detail that aesthetically makes or breaks this type of job, so I think they do good work with integrity, just make sure they have their best guy doing all of the white mortar bead if they're pointing granites stone. I'll call them back for pointing a rental property that is semi-detached brick confident it will be done well. Stone pointing work w/o bead will be done well by these guys, no question.

Thanks so much for your great review, despite the hick up with the thin white convex bead of mortar on top of your wide gray mortar joints. Even for modern-day stonemasons, that is a difficult procedure to do perfectly! We only see it on houses in the district and close in suburbs that were built at or just after the turn of the century with Cleveland Park granite, back in the days when there was a stone quarry in the DC at Cleveland Park. That convex white bead is a very rare feature, but it still does exist in some places around town. They no longer make the same tools that they used back then and since the multicolored joint with the white bead on top is no longer done, there aren't any people with long term experience in that particular technique. I have personally worked on some of those walls, but even though I've been doing masonry work for 40 years in the District of Columbia, I've only worked on a handful of walls with a white convex be on top of a gray mortar joint because there just aren't that many houses that have them and hands there's not that many requests for it. That having been said, I would love to come by and look at it and see if we can't make it look a lot better! There's a fine art to it, and with a little TLC I think you'll be very happy with the results! Give me a call on my cell phone at 202-468-5596. Description of Work: The firm did not perform the chimney sweep and inspection as proposed and head been paid for in advance. The technician noted damaged bricks especially at the top of the chimney and decided any "sweeping" was apt to do more damage. He suggested we report non-use of the contracted service or agree to credit the amount paid for future work. We encouraged the firm to make a new proposal to include the repair work needed. That was three weeks ago and we have not received anything from the firm. We have not requested refund of the $99, but will do so if we do not hear from the firm about a new proposal.

Thanks for A's in every category. Chimney cleaning time can vary from a few minutes to an hour or more. Sometimes a very thick build up slows the process, while other times it is the type of chimney or the way it is constructed that slows the cleaning process. Prefab metal chimneys are usually cleaned very quickly. However. I ran into one a couple of weeks ago in Laurel. MD that was so cacked up with 3rd degree creosote (a tarry substance) that we had to apply liquid creosote remover with a custom made applicator. It took 2 trips out and several hours. A typical prefab chimney cleaning takes 10 to 15 minutes. Sometimes people assume more time spent means a better job, but that's not usually the case. If a chimney cleans up quickly, there's nothing left to do and the job is done. I'm glad to see you appreciated that! Thanks, again, Dave Myers, owner

Description of Work: Excellent work, put on a new chimney cap, prompt and professional. However, somehow they did not have the paper work from Angies and billed me twice for the services.
