Description of Work: The service was done but I did not receive a payment receipt from either the company nor Angie's List with the dwelling address of service. I am trying to track down the receipt now because our HOA is saying that the service was never done.

Description of Work: I initially got a paid inspection with recommendations for work to be done on my hearth and chimney. The estimates seemed reasonable and there was no pressure to agree to have the work done. After I received a formal proposal I accepted and the work was performed and I'm basically pleased. I do have a couple of complaints. The mortar used on the hearth doesn't match the original and I haven't received any pictures of the outside work to assess. (I did get pictures of needed repairs.) Also there was a bit of a communication problem. Workers sometimes showed up early or late without calling first. I sent quite a few emails and made a number of phone calls to keep things on track.

Description of Work: American Professional Chimney and Masonry installed a steel chimney liner in coordination with another contractor that was converting my boiler from oil to gas. I explored multiple quotes for the chimney liner and this was by far the best value, being a steel liner (not just a flexible "hose" which the boiler contractor could have installed for less) for about $1300.

Description of Work: I encountered confusion with both the scheduling and pricing, and although "Steve" (Steven Rodgers, the "superintendent") did very nice work on the brick-repair work he did, he omitted a portion of the job (which I did not discover until later) and which I am now forced to retain someone else to complete. Summary: over-priced for the work done, and although Steve was very nice, the people in the company's office (the schedulers) were incompetent and unpleasant.

Description of Work: American Professional Chimney completed two kinds of work for us. We first hired them last fall to clean and inspect our chimney. They did a great job and at the end gave us a run down of upgrades we could/should make to the chimney and how much those items would cost. The service provider also told us none of the items was essential or urgent, so long as the chimney appeared to be venting well when we lit a fire in the fireplace. We appreciated that the company didn't give us a hard sell on expensive additional services. | |This spring, when we had to replace our hot water heater, we were informed that new county code requires new hot water heaters to be connected to a flue liner in a chimney, rather than venting into the unlined chimney directly. Luckily, flue liners were among the projects AmPro had quoted for us previously following their chimney cleaning/inspection. We hired AmPro to install the chimney liner in May. Not only did they do a great job on the chimney liner, but they also (a) honored the pricing in that months-old quote and (b) even discounted the price a bit further. The crew was punctual and professional. I would have no hesitation about hiring AmPro again, should the need arise. I recommend them wholeheartedly.
