Response from American Professional Chimney & Masonry
Thanks for the overall"A" rating, Member! It was a pleasure meeting you. Sorry I was so late the first day. I should have picked up your parts the day before. Your price reflected both the best 100% stainless steel chimney in the industry and a time consuming installation, going through the ceiling, into the bedroom above (as requested), installing 2 pairs of double 2" x 8" wood headers and joist hangers to support the bedroom floor joists we modified, then taking the chimney outside, just 2 1/2 feet above the floor so you can have a small shelf and cabinet over the chimney in the corner of the bedroom, then going through the bedroom wall, up the outside wall of the house, through the overhanginging roof and shingles, installing a flashing and taking the chimney 8 feet above the very steep roof and bracing the chimney from high winds with 2 roof braces. We also installed a flashing, storm collar, rain cap. spark arrestor, wall support kit, insulated wall pass through , finished ceiling support, Joist sheild / firestop, double wall stove pipe to stove connector, double wall stove pipe tee with a clean out , and 2 sections of black double walled stove pipe (including an adjustable section), to connect the stove to the class A stainless steel chimney. I would give us an "A plus" for the pricing! The chimney parts alone retail for over $2,500.00. Because parts are expensive we often get a "B" when we install Class A chimneys. $3,500.00 is a lot of money, but it is only because we buy in bulk and give a 35% discount, that we can set prices this low. No one in the area installs Selkirk Ultra Temp Chimneys for less. Dave Myers, Owner, Cell # 202-468-5596
