This did a good job. They were very clean and neat. They took pictures and talked to me about my chimney, and explained very clearly about what they saw. I had many questions about their suggestions. He took substantial time to talk to me and gave suggestions of what needs to take place to convert to a wood burning fireplace.

Overall, in every way, this is a top-notch company. The two young men that did the work, Edgar and Caesar, were professional, courteous, proficient, and very careful not to make a mess in my house. Removing the old terra cotta chimney proved to be a challenge, but they were tenacious in their efforts to do what they had to do, and they did it extremely well. Even more pleasant was dealing with Catherine in the office. She exudes oodles of personality, and made this homeowner feel at ease with the impending work, which I was sure would result in the collapse of my house, but alas that never happened. But beware, the lady likes dark chocolate, and I was so pleased with the whole experience that I was compelled to supply her with a good amount of it at the end of a very successful project. And best of all, the fireplace works beautifully now!! This is THE go-to company in the Washington DC area for all your chimney needs.

I'm a Real Estate Agent and needed a basement water proofed in a hurry to facilitate a sale. I called a number of water proofing companies and selected American Professional Chimney & Masonry because they responded promptly, showed up on time to provide a comprehensive estimate, and thoroughly explained their process to resolve the water issues in the basement. They gave me a reasonable price and did a great job.

They performed their work professionally. When they left they gave a very expensive estimate of future work they said is necessary. I would certainly want to get a second estimate before proceeding with any future work.

The men were all professional and courteous. They arrived on time for the initial estimate. Brian spent a long time explaining the issues with our chimney and answering all of my questions. The work was done on time and they did a beautiful job. We were very happy with the whole experience and will use them in the future for any further chimney work. They were also significantly lower priced than other bids we had.

I had chimney cleaning and inspection by American Professional Chimney through a $99 deal I bought on Angie's list. I also had asked for a video inspection of the inside of the chimney at an additional cost because of fear of damage from squirrels that had gotten in between the wall and the flue, but they honestly told me my chimney flue was to narrow for that. They did inspect the chimney and said that there didn't appear to be anything wrong. They were prompt and efficient and did everything for the $99. I wished I had called them sooner!

Arrived on time, cleaned the chimney and gave us an explanation of the condition of the chimney.

They squeezed me right in their schedule. I am using them again int he near future for an additional project. Very reasonable, prompt, and polite. Their price was extremely fair.

It was good. They did what they said they were going to do in a timely fashion and I haven't had any problems since then.

They wanted to charge $6500 to reline both flues and add a dual damper system because we were getting smoke in our basement when we had a fires upstairs. We got a second opinion and ended up spending $250 on some masonry repairs. Several fires later still no smoke in the basement.

They were very professional and thorough with their job. They were good.

We got an Angie's List deal so tried this company. We were able to book something quickly. That being said, the chimney people showed up the last 15 minutes of the 3 hour window. I have a tight schedule since I work from home so was expecting the service to be completed in the 10am - 12pm window they gave me. That didn't happen. In the future, it would be better if they service people could call ahead if it's going to be at the tail end of their window.

I bought an Angie's List deal for caps and inspection. I called and was able to set up an appointment for about a week out and they were able to do it on a Saturday which was great so I didn't have to take off of work. They showed up early, did the inspection, showed me what they found and then installed the caps. They said the chimneys had some damage inside and needed to be repaired. They gave us a quote for almost $5,000 to fix all three but we can't afford to do that now. Overall I was happy with the service but will be getting other estimates before we repair the chimneys.

They came on time and cleaned my 40' tall chimney. They left no mess. I will definately use them again.

The entire team should be commended for doing a great job. After a strong wind storm we lost a part of our chimney cap and I had to call the team out for this quick fix. While they were here they cleaned the chimney. The crew was in and out in under 25 minutes and left everything immaculate. When they were on the roof they identified serious issues with the crown and offered to write an estimate and come back after we had reviewed it. After talking to the experienced staff on the job it was clear that putting this off would save a penny now to cost more later. The team had the equipment to perform the additional repair and executed it immediately. All told they were here less than 90 minutes.Very professional crew charging reasonable rates.

This was backbreaking work and the crews were reliable and cleaned up the basement very well. The project manager really knew his stuff. I did have to tell one worker not to put his tools on the top of the dryer, but other than that minor correction, this was a great team.

Overall everything went well!

As noted above, I have used this company on many occasions, for a variety of projects. They have always been professional, helpful and respectful of my property, have explained issue(s) and described the options. I very much appreciate the quality of their work and reliability of their service.

UDPATE: The owner read my original review, which impresses me already, and not only sent me a letter apologizing but included a check to compensate me for the inconvenience of the dust. I am totally blown away by this attention to excellence! I upgraded their grade to an A and will call the owner to thank him and convey what a special touch this is to customer satisfaction. They seemed to do a thorough job; although, it's hard to tell since you can't see before or after. When they first got there, they opened up a drop cloth that had debris in it, which went onto the floor. They did vacuum up after they were finished, but there was a fine dust left on the floor in front of the hearth. They were very polite and honored the coupon easily.

Actually there was a problmem in my laundry room which alerted me to possible water damage. The team came in, reviewed with me the problem and several solutions. We discussed the price of the waterproofing and I approved the estimate.. Work commenced prior to schedule. work was completed earlier than scheduled.

I called American Chimney Repair to get a third estimate for services. They were prompt in coming for the estimate. The price was the best of all 3 and it included more than the other two companies with regard to work. The work was done by people who knew what they were doing. They were very careful with everything around the fireplaces and in the furnace room and put it all back and cleaned up when they were finished. The workers were on time, courteous and friendly. They took time to explain what they were going to do and when they were finished taught us how to work the new device to open the flue. Our chimneys (2 separate for two fireplaces and furnace/water heater chimney were completely relined and insulated. Animal protections was put in place as well. Even when the insulation required cutting a whole through the garage wall, they went out and purchased matching bricks and repaired it very well. It seems they went the extra mile to be sure the chimney was very well insulated and that not even a small whole in a brick was missed. We are hoping to get some use out of one of our fireplaces soon. Needless to say we could not recommend a company more highly. If needed, we will update this after using the fireplace! Oh...the cost and estimate were exact.

This company was super fast with its response. They performed services as described. They explained the discoveries and gave written recommendations. They cleaned up after themselves. I'll hire them again for the next annual inspection.

They evaluated my chimney for a draft problem, recommended a cap and installed it the same day. Draft problem gone!
