American Professional Chimney & Masonry

There was a mix up with the person from the office scheduling the estimate and the actual workers. I was asked what day would work for me and when I picked a day, the mason had to call and reschedule due to scheduling conflicts. He informed me that weekends are generally better for doing estimates. He did call far enough in advance to reschedule the appointment. The date of the newly scheduled appointment, he called 30 minutes prior to his appointment and he arrived as expected. I unfortunately never received an estimate for the job so I can't speak to their work.

Decent job of filling in holes in brick steps. Mixup with the appoinrment time. They did not arrive as scheduled and I had to call to twice to remind them of the appointment. Service person tried to make up for their error by providing free materials and free consultation on my fireplace.

Representatives arrived on time, examined jobs and gave estimates. They were very clear about what the estimate entailed and what the provider did not do. For example , once the work was done, the provider did not paint the area nor would they be expected to even out the space where the wall was removed.

I called American Chimney to try and find a solution for stinkbugs entering our home through the chimney and coming out of the fireplace. They suggested a screen that they would insert and hopefully that will work even though I cannot use the fireplace. Two young men came to our home and they were so polite and helpful. They arrived at the arranged appointment time and went about trying to correct the problem. After observing the chiminey they noticed a cracked cement crown. They gave us a estimate of 300 dollars which seemed a little high but it needed to be done and my husband can no longer do this type of work so we also had this work done. Another young man arrived after I placed the call and did the crown work. He was also very polite and friendly. He took a picture of the crown before and after to show me the differance. I would definitely use American Chimney again.

It was fine. They didn't charge me more than what the deal was for. They were nice. How accurate their report is, I will find out when we actually get the chimney re-bricked. They were prompt. They seemed professional and I got a good feeling from them. They charged me what they said they would.

In a word: SUPERB! The crew leader, Neil Brown, was FANTASTIC--very, very competent and knowledgeable, and very willing to do whatever he could to keep the job within my budget while getting me the best possible finished product. The crew, who were at my house for four days, worked harder than anyone I've ever seen--they never even slowed down. And they were the most polite, courteous people imaginable--it was a real pleasure to have them here. They were so helpful and cooperative in every way. I can't say having a French drain put in your basement is one of life's pleasures, but this crew made it as painless as possible, they cleaned up every speck of rubble, trash, etc., when they were finished, and they truly were a joy to work with. And there aren't enough superlatives to say how great Neil Brown was; he made sure the job was done absolutely, 100 percent right, every step of the way....he is simply OUTSTANDING to work with! I would not hesitate to use this company again, and I would heartily recommend it to anyone who needs this kind of work done.

Chimney sweep went well. The fact that their "inspection" resulted in $850 the majority of which was to pull sealant paint off my chimney crown to repaint it and apply water repellent to the bricks left a bad taste.

I had 4 quotes through Angie's List. Chimney and Masonry were the most professional and the lowest price. I want to recognize the excellent help and support of the manager Catherine. She called after the original handwritten quote, with an email and a PDF quote (original price was maintained). I decided for Chimney and Masonry, Catherine was again very proactive suggesting some prospect dates without rain in the weather forecast ( work was outdoors). Catherine also called me the prior evening to the work date to remind me and to confirm there was no change for the scheduled work (no rain forecasted). Workers arrived on time, they finalized the work in less time than expected and showed me several photos of the finished job on the roof. We have one big rain day already and the work has hold. No water leaks. I highly recommend Chimney and Masonry. Good job, good prices and good customer service.

The work wasn't actually done because they don't work on our particular type of fireplace. However, they were very plasant to deal with and very understanding. They were professional. They were very helpful in letting us know that we needed a company who specializes in gas log fireplace inserts.

They were fine. They followed up, they were professional and they sent me the estimate and analysis of what needs to be done. They were actually really good but the price was too high.

We were very impressed with them. They are the most professional company we have dealt with. Very responsive. They have such a good eye towards customer service. They would always touch base with you. The homeowner is kept aware of the progress. All questions are answered right away and they are eager to answer questions. The way the project was managed made it pretty much seamless for us. The workers would always check in and say hello each day. Masonry is very expensive, but their prices were in the reasonable range. We had to wait for them because they are very popular, but we are glad we waited. They really are a good company.

Went great. Company was pleasant to work with; masons were skilled and efficient. Our chimney is surrounded by a big holly tree and lots of shrubs. Somehow these folks managed to erect scafolding and make repairs without damaging any of the plants. Price was competitive with the other chimney services that bid on the job.

From the first call to set appointment for estimate, the staff was responsive and professional. Manny and Eric were on time for all appointments. They were friendly and informative with Manny explaining in detail all the work that was required. They were careful in protecting the interior room where some very dirty work was performed. We were amazed to watch how agile they were working on a roof 3 stories off the ground yet they were very attentive to safety. They accomplished all work promised and they left the site completely clean both interior and exterior. We were very pleased with the entire operation. It was a pleasure to meet them and watch them work.

The did an excellent. They were courteous and professional. They cleaned up after themselves.

Staff setting up appointment were friendly and respectful. Staff called to confirm appointment. Contractor was on time, professional and courteous. Inspection revealed additional repairs were needed. Price quoted for additional work was reasonable but I have a friend who is a mason who will do it for less.

After some initial hiccups (due to email address mixup) everything went very well. The workmen ere professional and did courteous and they did a good job in short time frame. They completed the job faster than their estimate.

It was great! I knew my chimney needed some work, but they said it wasn't as bad as I thought. I explained my concerns and they were very familiar with everything we talked about. They gave me an estimate for follow-on work that should be done.

It was easy to get an appointment for the next day, and the team called ahead and arrived on time. I was a little disappointed that they didn't clean the ash collector, but was told that they are not allowed to per state regulation - it guess its really nasty stuff. The lead technician was very helpful in showing my how to operate the flu (this is a new house for us), and gave good advice on how to maintain a clean chimney. He did the roof-top inspection, and came back with some suggestions for repair and maintenance, all at additional cost, of course. He was professional and not pushy about it, but since the house just passed inspection before we bought it, we won't be spending the $400 - $800 suggested.

Neal Brown was the technician who came to our home. Neal was very patient with us with scheduling. He was very helpful as well. He actually ended finding very extensive mold in our basement. He was on the phone with my husband for quite some time explaining everything out. Neal suggested that we call in a mold remediation company out as soon as possible. He even suggested a company that could test the level of mold toxins in our home for health purposes. Neal told me to call Angies List for the best company and best price. He seemed concerned for me to save money and find a great company.

They did a nice job. It was a quick service. They did what they said they were going to do. It was one of those deals in which they provided a day or two days of service and they were definitely there the whole time. They have good customer service and follow through. I felt that I got what I paid for. They had a fair price.

They were neat, took pride in their work. Mr. Able Ribas, the superintendent and his assistant was very patient, diligent and able to please. Very attentive to listen to what his client wanted done. He was very professional and even stated hmself to make sure everything was concise. He did everything that I wnted hm to do. They came back out and treated the wall. Everything was matched up precisely and finished in one day. They came early in the morning and cleaned up very well. He also explained everything very well. They did roofing for me years ago. They work with you with payment plans and understand how the economy is. The owner worked with me and made sure that the payment plan was affordable for me to handle. If something isnt done to your likeness they will fix it but they will also let you know what needs to be done to make it even better. They were very neat. They use the best quality materials. They used real mortar, no sand. That is the strongest you can get for any brick foundation. They were on time. They deserve 5 1/2 stars.

It went good. It seemed like an estimate that I normally get for free. It seemed reasonable, I guess.

It worked out good. I really liked the fact that the guy that came out was knowledgeable about my fireplace. He went and did a thorough check and gave me a lot of knowledge about the chimney.
