It was fine. It was very simple; they said it was not too dirty so it was pretty quick. There were maybe a couple of companies that were cheaper than them.

Arrived on time, kept the work area clean, performed sweep and inspected chimney.

Crew arrived on time, assessed repair needs over and above basic Angie's List offer, gave estimates, completed work efficiently and on time. Expert service personnel, efficient at doing their work, very careful not to leave any ashes from cleaning and repair work.

The cleaning crew was on time and very professional. They cleaned both chimneys and laid down mats to avoid getting dirt and dust all over the floor. They did a complete safety inspection and taught me about my chimneys (I'm a new homeowner). They had some recommended repairs and their estimates were very reasonable. I liked the fact that they weren't pushy about hiring them to do the repairs. They were honest--they were repairs that would be good to have done but not absolutely necessary right now. They also offered suggestions on how I could save money on some of the work. I will definitely hire American Professional Chimney for my annual sweepings and all repair jobs!

We first hired them to clean and inspect the chimney using an Angie's List deal. This went well. They showed me that the chimney crown (cement seal around flue) was badly cracked and needed to be replaced. I hired them for the job. They said that they would come on a Thursday but never showed up. They came the next day. Instead of placing the broken cement pieces in a basket they threw them onto the lawn. They left several pieces on the lawn after finishing, which could have caused an injury if I went over them with a lawn mower. They also did not place a tarp on the deck so gravel got stuck between the floor boards even after they washed it clean. One of the cement pieces fell or was thrown onto the wood deck and gouged a plank. Overall, a sloppy job. I can't assess the quality of the new crown since it is 20+ feet above my deck but I assume that the job was done properly. On another note- they offered to replace the crown with either standard cement or a latex composite. I chose the composite since it would be waterproof. After reviewing the work receipt, I discovered that they used cement. I asked the workers about this as they were driving away and one of them told me that his boss said that the composite would not be appropriate for the job. The office should have told me this beforehand, since I would have asked them to apply a waterproofing compound to the new crown.

The contractor called ahead and was able to arrive early. The job was performed to satisfaction. Everything was kept clean and no issues afterwards. The contractor provide estimates for additional repair work as part of the inspection. He was thorough and kept me informed of any thing that he noticed during the work. Best chimney sweep work I have had in three years with three different vendors.

One visit, one hour, one coupon with A's list. And one assessment at $5400 for a job that ultimately cost $3800.

Technician was punctual and thorough. We purchased a $99 Big Deal to inspect/clean a chimney in our new home. We have two fireplaces and two chimneys, so we purchased a second. Technicial swept both chimneys and left a detailed estimate for work to repair chimney (approx. $7,000).

The 2 gentlemen arrived early. Both were professional and focused on their task, and polite. The procedure was pretty fast, but they were thorough. They cleaned out my fireplace, which I meant to do before they came in. They tolerated my rambunctious dogs. And they told me about a rusty part of the chimney which will eventually need to be dealt with. I could not ask for a better experience.

The inspector spent ten minutes on the ladder, installed the caps, and then produced an estimate of $7,500 for "essential" work. We had the house inspected three months ago, including the chimney. The original (licensed) inspector confirmed that the chimney was fine (given age and natural wear and tear), and that it was common for these types of inflated estimates to arrive with 'discount' inspections. Will not use again.

We received great service. They were on time, worked quickly and extremely neatly.

Contracter arrived on time. Did sweeping job---was careful to avoid any soot spills.. Inspected chimney and provided advice.

The company did a nice job. They were on time, courteous, and explained what they would be doing. They took care to cover the carpet in front of the fireplace and keep the soot contained. They cleaned up after themselves and left the area as they had found it. They provided some tips to start a fire without getting smoke in the house. After looking at the chimney cap, they suggested painting, but have not provided the promised estimate as yet.

American Professional Chimney & Masonry promptly scheduled an appointment. They called the day before coming to give me a time. They showed up at the time they had told me. After inspecting my chimney, I was told that my present chimney and cap were in fine shape and that a new one wasn't needed. They were very professional, courteous and honest. Because the inspection showed that I didn't need a new chimney cap, I would like a refund of the $149 I paid Angie's list. I highly recommend American Professional Chimney and hope that someone else can use this deal.

It was a basic, minimal chimney clean. It’s hard to grade the quality because you can’t see it. You have to take the workers word for it. I felt their equipment was a little old and dated. I expected all the grates to be covered, but they did not do that. They had one guy vacuuming while the other guy was brushing. I expected them to cover all the grates and do the brushing and then come around and vacuum. We used to clean it years ago ourselves and it felt like it was a quick cleaning job, but the workers were very thorough. I asked them to spray some mold away and they did it. As they were leaving, they crushed a graded part of the chimney. It was old and rusted, but they did not mention this and I will have to replace this. Overall they were good, but they could use improvement.

American Professional Chimney & Masonry came to my house to perform the chimney sweep and inspection that I bought. Upon arrival, they immediately deemed that the chimney was unlined and so couldn't be cleaned. They instead quoted me on how to replace my entire setup, which is something I will need to consider in the future. They said to contact you if I wanted a refund. No complaints with company (they were very friendly and honest) but the service I paid was not performed because it couldn't be performed. I can send a picture of the replacement estimate they provided where they mention that I should be provided a refund from AngiesList because the services could not be performed.

They did exactly what they were supposed to do. The flue was cleaned and inspected. Since our flue was relined about 3 years ago by a reputable company, we didn't expect them to find any issues. Well, they didn't. And they didn't try to up-sell any other services. That's all you can expect, in my book.

They were very helpful in telling me what I needed and what I didn't. I just eneded up not needing the deal, but my interaction with the company was great.

He gave me several possible causes of the leak and provided several possible ways to solve the problem with cost estimates. He gave me his phone number and took my calls when I had questions about what to do. The estimates helped me figure out what to do. Well worth this little money.

Prior to installation of a new cast iron stove, we had to have our chimney cleaned and swept. The stove company recommended American Professional Chimney and Masonry, and I just happened to find a good deal on Angie's List. They came within a week of my buying the deal. The company appointment maker was prompt. The day after purchasing the deal, she gave me the date out of my three choices that they could come. The day before the appointment, she contacted me with a time window. Two men came, quiet, respectful, and professional. They got right down to their business, worked quickly and efficiently, and were done in about half an hour or 45 min. They laid down tarp on my carpet. One guy worked on the fireplace while the other climbed onto the roof to check the chimney. When they left, thanks to the Angie's List deal, there was no discussion of payment and no confusion on their part. I had put the printout on the kitchen table and, no questions asked, after they'd put away all their equipment and cleaned up after themselves, they laid their receipt/work order on top of it and were gone. Afterwards, there was no sign anyone had even been here sucking up soot in my family room. I would call them again to clean the other two chimneys in future.

Scheduling arrangements were flexible and easy. Workers came on time, were respectful, did a great and thorough job in a timely manner, cleaned up after themselves.

very well. They did the work in the time they estimated. The only flaw was the new flue would not open. I had to call them and they had to come back and fix it.

Required two days of work and two different crews. Both crews introduced themselves and stated what they would do each day. Very polite. Provided photos of work . Feel chimney much safer.

They did a great job. On time and left everything clean after the job was done. Very professional!

Work was professional and of highest quality, however, I was billed twice for the work. When I spoke to the company about this, they said that I would have to work it out with Angie's List. This is why I would not use them again despite the professionalism and quality of their field work. They could easily just have written me a check for the double charge and cleared everything up. I still don't know when, or if, I will get my money back.
