where the chimney was leaking and I contracted them to do the fixing instead of the cleaning.

The technician claimed that we needed to have our entire chimney torn down and rebuilt. This could have cost us more than $20,000. After getting reputable second and third opinions, it turns out that our chimney only needs minor repairs and is in working condition.

Excellent service. I bought the Angie's List Big Deal after my gas fireplace service contractor noted that the chimney should be cleaned and offered to do it for more than double the Big Deal price. Scheduled through the Big Deal website, which allowed me to designate three preferred day and time slots; the company responded by email within hours confirming for my first choice day and time. They called the day before to confirm the appointment, showed up on time, completed the work quickly (and cleanly!). They noted that some further work needed to be done at some point in the near future (replacing some flashing) and provided an estimate on the spot -- but no pressure to agree immediately. Excellent service. Chimney cleaner arrived on time, was efficient, and left everything very clean.

The service provider informed me that I had requested the contract twice and they told me the order number that I should cancel. Of course, the most important thing is that the order is really cancelled. I don't know whose responsibility it is to cancel the order, but that is who I would like to evaluate at some point. Right now, I have no confirmation that the order has been cancelled

The tech who checked the top damper told me it was corroded and could not be made to close and needed to be replaced. Since my husband had to leave before they arrived, I asked for an estimate to discuss it with him. I went up on the roof to look at the damper myself, and found that although there was corrosion on the fasteners, none were near a point of failure. We were able to order a cable replacement kit online, and I had no difficulty in removing the old cable and installing the new one. The damper now closes satisfactorily. A problem the tech didn't mention and may not have noticed was that the old adhesive that secured the damper to the chimney flue had let go. It was easy to chip away however. I don't disagree that the top damper is getting old and some years from now will need replacement, but with a new cable it is working properly.

We called them and they were able to come out within a few days of us purchasing the deal. Two technicians came out for the service. They were out for what seemed like a reasonable amount of time. They did an excellent job cleaning up after the service.

I used them through a big deal on Angie's List. My experience with them was excellent. I signed up for the $119. Later that night, they sent me an email stating that they were ready to schedule it and asked me to give them dates. I gave them the dates. They came when they said that they were going to come. It was very easy to schedule with them. I was actually very surprised how quickly they turned it around. They came in and did exactly what they said they were going to do. They gave us recommendations on fixtures. They followed through, did their job and left; that's all I can expect from a contractor. It was a good experience. I was not here; my wife was here. We have no complaints. Everything was great. We had quotes. We knew what needed to be fixed, and we are good. If we have repairs, we will have them do it.

Bought the deal on Angie's List. They arrived on time and cleaned the fireplace and inspected the chimney. They said we needed a new chimney cap because ours was rusted and that it would be about $1200, which seemed expensive to me but this is my first time dealing with a chimney. Aside from that, a very pleasant experience. They were careful to cover the family room around the fireplace with a dropcloth and move baby stuff out of the way so no ash would touch it. I'd definitely use them again.

The gentlemen arrived within the stated time period and were very easy to work with. The work was performed professionally and in a timely manner. Care was taken to avoid getting any dirt or debris in the house. The chimney was inspected from the firebox and on the roof. A written estimate was provided for additional repairs deemed necessary to fix problems identified as a result of the inspection.

Cold air was coming out of the fireplace and from a wall adjacent to the chimney. I called in American Professional Chimney and Masonry to diagnose the issue and to clean our fireplace and chimney ($99). One of their team members performed the cleaning , diagnosed the issue and recommended a couple of fixes to the damper and the chimney cap for $200. We decided to go ahead with the fix. The original issue is now solved. Their crews are punctual and very professional. We are happy with their work, would use their services again and would definitely recommend to friends and family.

They were terrific, absolutely wonderful! They gave me all the information I needed. They did the services and gave me estimates and I was very pleased. There were additional charges beyond the big deal but they gave me an estimate to repair the things that needed to be repaired. They didn't really do any work but they were very knowledgeable.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it worked out just fine. They were clean, efficient and quick, but not so quick that I did not feel like they did the job properly. My interaction with them was good as well. The Angie's List price is always great.

There were two crews involved - different tasks on two different days. Both crews were very proficient and worked steadily each day with only a short break for lunch. They prepared the site carefully, were attentive to minimizing dust and debris, and obviously knew what they were doing. Both crews have worked with this company for at least a decade and were very efficient. The company did the work (expensive, but I will not post the price) without a deposit, accepting 100% payment upon completion and inspection of the job. After having other other unscrupulous but well-advertised chimney companies bid on the job ("It's $4000 but if you do it today it is $1500"), we were wary of yet another chimney company's promises. You can't see inside your chimney easily, and you have to take what they tell you at their word. We decided relining was a good idea because chimney safety and fitness would likely be an issue on an home inspection upon sale. So, American Professional Chimney's professional, low key, and matter-of-fact description of their inspection's findings and recommendations -- plus the reviews on Angie's List -- sold us on this being the company to do business with.
