Description of Work: HVAC service. The first time we hired this Company the owner was extremely responsive. We had an emergency situation with no a/c, owner committed to repairing the system but showed up 4 hours past the time he said he would be there. He never called to let us know he was "tied up" on another "emergency call". The owner stated he would prefer not having a "service agreement" with any of his customers as he always responds to emergency outages. According to him he preferred calls on emergency outages go to his cell via a message or text if no answer. We spoke to the owner on the emergency call and he committed to being there asap...didn't show for over 4 hours. Our A/C compressor had "frozen" because of a leak in the system...started to work after we turned it off and it thawed out. We still needed service when he finally arrived 4 hours beyond the committed time.

Description of Work: When he finally responded to us after several calls prior to July 2014, he made a commitment to be here and did not show nor called until he "was on his way home" for the night. He stopped by about 2 hours later, checked the freon in our A/C unit, said he found we had a leak somewhere in the line which caused the outside unit to "freeze up" and "shut down". We authorized the repair, he fixed the system and there was no evidence of a problem until July 2014. I called several times (husband has a breathing condition and we need to have working AC. I called every number I had for "Jim" the owner, left several messages, never had a response. We had been told we were a Priority Customer and if we had an emergency all other customers would be told he had an emergency visit to make before he could help them. As a result of his not responding to us we had to call another Company...the response from them was within the hour of our call. We will never call American Vet HVAC again in the future. (Our feeling is if he was "swamped with work", out of town on vacation, sick or whatever he or his wife could have at least called and let us know what happened. For all we knew his Company was no longer active and he was out of business.)

Description of Work: American Vet Heating & Cooling was set up to perform a tune-up/cleaning for both our heating and air conditioning systems at 9:00 am on 8/30/2012. Due to an "accident" the day before the appointment, the original technician was not able to perform the work as he had to go to the hospital. After we made an inquiry as to a possible confusion on dates, another tech was dispatched to our home to do the work. He was very professional, appeared to be extremely knowledgeable and spent time explaining what steps he would take to do the job. Based on this, as well as the fact the Company's Owner had covered in detail how emergency calls were handled, we were extremely pleased with this Company and highly recommend them to anyone needing this type of service.
