Just when you are losing faith in people caring about the quality of their work, along came Hayden plumbing and shows you great workmanship still exists. They have done two service calls with us, the first was a scheduled installation of a water softener and filter. The quality of the installation was extremely high and the gentleman was prompt, professional and friendly. He went above and beyond by removing existing hard water deposits on our bathroom fixtures. The second call was a last minute call about a leak from work done by someone else. They were able to get to us quickly and fixed it right. I would highly recommend them!

Very good, they snacked the pipes leading from the septic tank back into the house and removed the clogs
Description of Work: I have used them on several times in the past and have been impressed with their work. This time I had a major issue with a back up of my septic system. Sewage filling my downstairs bathtube. They responsed quickly and unclogged the pipes for a fair price

No one was able to come out but Paul, the owner, did one better! He allowed us to pick up the part on Christmas Day and then made sure my husband knew how to install. He saved our Christmas and saved me lieterally hundreds of dollars by avoiding an emergency service call on Christmas. Friendliest and most professional company I have dealt with and would give the highest rating!!

This is a family-owned business and it was the son-in-law Brian who came to do the job. He was the nicest person and very professional. He got here when we said he would. He knew just what the problem was and pointed out other things that we needed to know. The motor had burnt out in the pump. There were also items that should not have been flushed that was weighing the floater down in the septic hole. He replaced the pump, poured bleach in the hole (flies and larvae had somehow gotten in), sealed it way better than it had been, all within the estimated time of completion. The cost of the job was very reasonable and we would highly recommend them to anyone. They let you know before performing any work exactly what needs to be done and the cost.
Description of Work: We needed a septic pump replaced for the basement bathroom. When I called, I was told by the wife, I believe, that it may or may not need replacing, depending on what was found when they got here, it might only be the floaters.

I’ve described in another review how I waited for four or five weeks to get scheduled to have this job done with another company. I finally had to find someone else. Paul C. Hayden Jr. and Sons had high ratings an Angie’s List and were very nice to talk to on the phone. I was told that Stephen (one of the Sons) would call me later to talk about the details. He called later that day. I described the problem and he said he would schedule the work for early the following week. Paul called in a day or two and said they’d be here on Monday morning. I asked Paul if just my description of the situation was good enough for him to send his cavalry without their own assessment of the problem. He assured me that the 30+ years they’ve been in business was enough to evaluate my report. He was right. Stephen and Chris, his assistant, came out Monday with a backhoe and a couple lengths of replacement pipe and did the job in a couple hours. The drawing we had said the pipe was fifteen feet, but it turned out to be twenty-seven feet long. Stephen was an artist with the backhoe, digging all around the pipe without even scratching it. He really didn't need to be so delicate. Toward the end nearest the distribution box, he had already determined that the pipe was crushed along five or six feet of its length. He figured it must have happened back when it was first installed. That’s the only time any equipment heavy enough to crush it would have driven over it. (I figure it was the same people who installed the holding tank that collects the water before sending it uphill to the distribution box— it leaks water from the ground into the tank. When ever it has rained, we can hear ground water drip, drip, dripping into the tank, to be sent to the leach field. What a waste.) The crushed pipe has only about an inch passage on either side, and one of those was nearly completely filled with a single root. Roots entered easily through the break. A few years earlier the box had been cleaned out—it had been choked with roots. We didn't know then about the break in the line; one of the roots was so strong that it had lifted the concrete lid of the box (buried under eighteen inches of dirt) off the box to let other roots in. That fix lasted a year or so. Cleaning the box this time hadn’t worked because, I think, the roots in the line had grown so thick. So Stephen and Chris replaced the pipe, gluing it properly to keep roots from attacking the joints and putting concrete around the pipe’s exit from the box. They filled in the holes and spread grass seed and straw. They were great to work with and I am glad to finally have the problem solved.

They did the work but they over charge after the job is done. I have used them twice for two different jobs and both times they give you a low estimate for the job and after it is finished, the bill is double the estimate and there were no new or additional problems with doing the job. This second time, they sent a second person for a one person job and charged me for two people. If you use this company, get a written estimate and hold them to it or just give them a blank check.

Our septic tank alarm went off on Friday, 16, 2015. I checked the reviews on Angies List and found Paul C. Hayden Jr. & Sons Plumbing & Heating, Inc. I called them around midday and was told that one of the owners would call me promptly. I was given the approxiamate cost and what might be the problem when he called back about 15 minutes later. He told me that he would be there in about 2 hours to pump the tank and diagnose the problem. He arrived right on time. They proceeded to dig down to the tank, once the cover was removed they pumped the tank dry and diagnosed the issue, a piece of pipe had come loose due to the pressure of the pump and its vibrations. They performed the needed repairs and put everything back just as they had found it. They were professional, friendly, courteous and respectful. Would not hesitate to call them again. Job very well done.

We noticed some wet drywall and peeling paint above our shower surround. We originally called a plumber that we normally use but they could not come out for a week. We then searched Angie's List and called Hayden and Sons based on good member reviews. They were able to come out quickly. Paul explained everything hat he was doing every step of the way. I was pleasantly surprised that he was able to identify the source of the leak and repair it without cutting into the wall. He was very thorough, inspecting and testing to make sure the leak was fixed after every step of the repair. Paul was very professional and friendly. Based on our first experience with Hayden and Sons today we will definitely use them again in the future.

I was pleased and it went very well. They were just very helpful with any problem that came along. We had a difficult situation where the previous pump really virated so they worked with putting padding and doing other things to make sure that the new one didn't do that. We contacted Paul C. Hayden Jr. and Sons to set up an appointment for our toilet issue in the master bathroom. The plumber, Tommy, arrived on time and was very knowledgeable of what needed to be done with the toilet to keep it from constantly running and making water hammer type noises in the pipes. The faulty ballcock was replaced with a FluidMaster ballcock and a new flapper was installed. Although the parts only cost $24, the labor was listed as $125, which we found to be a little overpriced; however, it seems to be the and quot;normand quot; with plumbers around here. We were very satisfied with our service and would recommend this plumbing company to anyone in the Calvert County area.

I recently had a kitchen remodel done. When the kitchen sink was installed, new plumbing was installed by the company that did the kitchen remodel. After 5 leaks, on the 6th leak, I decided to contact a plumber with hopes of not having leaks/issues again. I contacted this provider. All the pipes under the sink were replaced and since January, no leaks. I would use this company again.

Two of Paul's sons (there are five sons in the business) arrived promptly (actually a half hour early) and got right to work. They were very knowledgeable, and professional. My old shower had already been torn out except for the drain pan which Hayden removed. They removed a bit of the plywood subfloor to get at the drain pipe and built anew trap and drain and centered it in the space where the new shower would be. They were very precise in their measurements taking into account the thickness of the Durarock, wall tile and shower glass (none of which had yet been installed) in determining where the exact center of the new shower would be. When they were done with the drain plumbing, they screwed in a new piece of subfloor fully braced to the floor joists. They then removed the old mixing valve connection and shower outlet pipe and installed a new mixing valve (customer supplied) and shower outlet pipe centered the end wall of the larger new shower area. They tested everything for leaks and answered all my questions about the installation. They also gave me a couple plumbing fixture tips unrelated to the installation. Their price was a little higher than what I expected (their labor rate looked to be $125/hr. rounded up to the next hour) but I think their quality was outstanding and I would definitely use them again. The only negative of the whole experience was that their truck leaked badly and left a one foot diameter oil spot on my recently (last fall) coated driveway.
Description of Work: Removed the shower drain pan and moved the floor drain and shower controls and shower outlet pipe a few inches to center for a new, larger shower area being installed by another contractor.

The Hayden's showed up within 30 minutes from the call. When they realized they would need to pull the well, within minutes and a few calls, four additional staff members showed up and were all assisting in pulling the plumb out, replacing it, and dropping a new on in.||The guys did an amazing job, they cleaned up the yard, ensured all my questions were answered, and explained everything that was done. They left the house for several hours, running a test on the system, returning multiple times to ensure everything was good. A decision was mad to test the system overnight, and the Hayden's we're here at the house first thing in the morning. What an amazing difference from several of the Plumbers we had used before working with the Hayden's. I would highly recommend and rate them a 10 out of 10. They my be a little more expensive then some of the others, however, they actually show up when they are supposed to, are always professional, do amazing work, ensure that you are comfortable with what they are doing, are really look out for you. You can't ask for more from a service provider. The Hayden's are to plumbing what The Four Seasons are to the hospitality/Hotel industry, first class in everything they do!
Description of Work: The Hayden's have done so much for our family, showing up at odd hours, and never leaving us in in a situation where we didn't have running water. The most recent visit was due to our well pump not working.
