+ 0 moreThe job took about three and half weeks for completion. The work was great, they did really nice work. They did everything perfect. With stuff like this if you do it right it lasts forever, and they did. Overall just great work was done for me.
Description of Work: They demo the old patio, some walls, installed a rock patio, and put in a stepping stone path. Plus a fire pit.

They are honest, reliable, and had a great vision for what our outdoor space could become. They worked through challenging elements and for each phase delivered the project on time and on budget. It has been a pleasure to work with them and we look forward to future work with them.
Description of Work: Design and complete renovation of our backyard. We had a 60 ft. patio with 2 curving walls, a pergola, deck, a water feature, and full landscaping of the backyard and front yard. The space was very difficult to design and implement, but Rock Solid Hardscaping created a fabulous outdoor space.

Description of Work: There were no services performed. I had contacted Rock Solid Hardscaping via their webpage to setup an appointment for an estimate for some hardscape work. I was hoping to have a walkway currently done with rocks replaced with pavers. I received a phone call quickly with an appointment setup for an estimate to be completed. However, when the contractor showed up to check out my project it had been sub-contracted out to Gibraltar Masonry. When the phone call was made to set up the appointment, no mention was made to the fact the work would be sub-contracted out. I would've been ok with this fact had it been made known. I had read another review where this had happened to someone else but I wanted to give this company an oppurtunity since most reviews were positive. The contractor that did show, Ryan Boynton, was very nice and explained the process of the project. Some of the reasons I did not hire Ryan and Gibraltar Masonry was the fact that I couldn't find any information on the company and their price was on the hire end.

+ -1 moreThey responded quickly to our call, and arrived promptly when they said that they would arrive. I found them from the list on Angie's list. They leveled out the area and built up some rocks for drainage. I am very happy with their work and will use them again.

+ 0 moreContacted via email after joining the list because of the high rating. I requested an estimate for some excavating, grading, drainage, and to install a block retaining wall. The company never responded to me directly, but instead gave my info to one of their friends. I wanted an estimate from Rock Solid because of the ratings here, not someone I never heard of! Maybe my job was too small for them, or they were busy, but they could have told me that directly. The company they gave my info to, contacted me, and I allowed them to come and provide an estimate because it wouldn't hurt to have another estimate, but I was very upset at this treatment. The only thing reasonably professional Rock Solid did was that they did not give their friend my email address.

Description of Work: Very prompt and responsive although initial estimate was too high for us. The owner Craig came out and talked to us in detail about our retaining wall and followed up with his engineers/designer. Initial estimate and communications have been great. We are impressed by their responsiveness.....

+ 2 moreThe best thing about it was the fact that there was always very good supervision on the site. They were outstanding all around and that was the reason that I hired them. I tend to be very cautious in picking the contractors as I am in the construction business. I would like to grade them very highly on all the categories. They were a great company and were a blast to work with.
Description of Work: I used the services of Rock Solid Hardscaping last month for a paver patio, retaining wall, walkway and grading. They also did some work on our drainage.

The quality of the work was excellent, and the mason was courteous, pleasant, and professional. These guys did great work. Reasonable and fair price. Best experience we have ever had with a contracting/home improvement service.
Description of Work: They build a curved retaining wall approximately 35 feet in length, finished in bluestone and dry stack veneer, and refinished our existing patio walls in drystack veneer.

+ 0 moreThis was a terrific experience from start to finish. Craig was often on site, always available by phone or text, and offered up some great ideas for the design and execution. Even when Craig was not on site we were in the excellent hands of his foreman John. As someone in the construction business I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to get this type of on site supervision when you undertake a large and costly project. I am a pretty tough customer with respect to home improvement projects. I expect top quality work and Craig and his team delivered a great product at fair price. I would work with Craig again in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: The project included a paver patio, a fire pit, retaining walls, drainage repair and a stepping stone path.

+ 1 moreIt was a great experience overall. He got back to me in a timely manner when I called. He was very informative. The initial consultation was also very informative. The design phase was great, it was beautiful which is why we went with him. The installation process went very smooth. He was at our house every day, and the workmanship is of the highest quality. It looks so great. It was a complete transformation from a clean slate into our dream backyard.
Description of Work: They did hardscaping and landscaping. They did a patio, a firepit, and he planted trees, shurbs, perrenials, and created beds. He also built an outdoor kitchen area includes a built-in grill and a countertop. The entire area has a pergola over it.

I felt like they were so knowledgeable about the things I wanted, and they didn't try to force anything on me that I didn't want. The work is just beautiful. I have seen some of his work before and it was all just beautiful.

+ -1 moreIt was a 10. It was absolutely fantastic. I have not dealt with a company where they have just been on spot with everything. They were very meticulous. They did everything to my expectations. They actually went above and beyond. It looks fantastic. I have gotten more use out of this fire pit and patio than I ever thought I would. It's just beautiful. They cleaned up the job site, I didn't have to ask for anything. From start to finish it was just a fantastic experience. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
