CHAPMAN'S CONSTRUCTION

Mr. Chapman arrived on time and seemed knowledgeable. We were interested in getting an estimate from him for our remodel. He never gave us the estimate or contacted us again.

We required a contractor to repair significant storm damage from Irene. We also had been planning some upgrades before the storm in the near future. Though Chapman's offered many things be sure to get them in writing, his books are not well kept and he takes shortcuts on everything he can get away with. We ultimately asked him to leave and completed the last few things on our own since they didn't have skilled workers that knew basic finish work. General building construction was adequate but again shortcuts and blatant omission of items we agreed to were hidden. Interior doors were installed in the wrong locations. External doors were not installed or finished properly. Interior plaster & paint work had to be corrected multiple times. We ultimately painted the final coat. Flooring transitions from hardwood to carpet to tile had to be repeated or corrected to look semi-professional at best.
