Came to give estimate, and then did the work the same day. Great job. Took down 2 large trees and two small trees. Removed stumps as well. Use them for all my tree work.

Did a great job. Difficult work back in woods of sloped property. brought in specialized equipment to get the job done right. Wasn't cheap, but it was a lot of trees down and could not have done it any other way.

The price of the deal was good. They came on time, and worked perhaps a bit longer than the specified moment. They did what I asked. However, I would not say that they were true tree experts. One large bush/small tree was shaped as requested, but now lots of the internal branches are dead and need to be removed. They were almost too thorough as they removed part of a tree that made it unstable, and a part on the other side broke off and is now dead.

The work was done quickly and very efficiently. The crew arrived on time, removed the downed branch and the dead tree and removed many other smaller branches brought down by the storm, all within about three and one half hours. Because the ground was wet, they left the large chipper and all trucks on the street to avoid damage to the lawn, and hand-carried the downed wood for more than 50 yards to the chipper. Before leaving they cleaned up the site carefully and swept the street to remove stray chips and small branches. I was very pleased with the service.

Antonio came out and took a look at our trees and was very knowledgeable about tree care and how to best get our trees into good shape again. He made recommendations and analyzed how best to approach the problem of the dead tree. His crew was able to come out the very next day and get all the trimming and maintenance done in one day! They were incredibly skilled and efficient, and took care to clean up when all the trimming was done. Two days later they came back to remove the dead oak. I couldn't believe how carefully and skillfully they took down that dead tree! Every piece of it was cut by hand and carefully lowered onto our property, protecting our neighbor's trees and landscaping as well as a dogwood tree two feet away from the oak. We were very impressed with the quality of the work, as well as the very reasonable price. We will definitely use Nelson's Tree Service again!

Antonio responded to my estimate in 20 minutes.. He gave me a very fair price and scheduled the job in 2 days. I canceled 2 other estimates that could not schedule the work for several weeks. The 5-man crew started at 7:30AM and finished At 6:30PM. The work required a crane. 3 trucks and chipper, and straps to pull large branches. All worked very hard and as a very professional team. The house now shows very well from the street. Nelson Tree Specialists, Inc is within a mile of my residence. I did my research and Angies List was integral to that.

We chose Nelson to remove two enormous silver maples (5-6 foot diameter trunks) in our backyard that were endangering our house, plus a white cedar that been planted by the previous owners whose trunk was up against the front corner of the house. They did a fantastic job dealing with a complicated removal (fence, garage, pool and house with the two big trees in the middle of all that). They used a crane to lift rather than drop the huge limbs and put down large mats so that the crane and truck tires wouldn't damage the lawn. I fully expected lawn damage to be a necessary evil of this type of project but they did a great job of minimizing it, especially since it had rained for two days prior. The crew worked hard and it was amazing that the entire job was accomplished by 5 pm given the size of the trees they were dealing with. All in all, a fantastic job, thanks Nelson!

I called Nelson Tree Specialist to give me an estimate on trimming my dogwood tree. The estimator showed up to my house about 10 minutes early. He took a look at my tree and said it was too small of a job for his company to do. He explained to me their typical jobs and mine was out of scope for what they normally do. He suggested I reach out to someone else that does smaller jobs, like mine. He was extremely professional, and if I had a job the right size I would use them. I recommend them for any larger trimming/tree removal job.

They did excellent work while they were here; however, they were 1 hour 45 minutes late due to traffic. In the summertime, no problem; in wintertime with shorter daylight, this meant that I was shorted on the 8 hours of work I had purchased because the sun was setting. Two additional branches of a VERY high tree, plus one additional tree were not able to be cut down because we ran out of daylight. Hey -- I get that traffic happens and was very understanding when they were late; however, I'd expect they'd figure out how to ensure all the work gets done, even if it means they come back a few days later to finish up. I called the following day about my concerns about the final two branches and was told I'd receive a call back; I never did. Unless Nelson Tree makes it right by me and finishes up the work I already paid them for, I will not be working with them again, nor recommend them to anyone else.

Unfortunately their operations section was out of effective service area. I appreciate the call and thorough explanation. I would recommend this service to their more effective local market area (Silver Springs, MD). Their business offices are in Clarksville, MD, but that's not where their operational resources are located; those are farther south in Silvers Springs, MD and this made a difference in the 8 hours proffered for the Big Deal due to travel time and distance to my home.

From beginning to end this was a stress free experience. The estimator, Antonio, arrived early for our estimate appointment, was professional and very knowledgeable. I was impressed with his honesty when I asked about one of the trees in our yard (what kind of tree is it) and he simply stated he didn't know. He recommended trimming a troublesome county tree that was impeding the growth of a cherry tree in our front yard, something I did not think could be done. He provided me with a copy of the insurance and license attached to the estimate so I did not have to ask for it. The original date of service was delayed 2 days due to repairs needed on the crane and rainy weather. But as agreed the workers showed up bright and early on time the next clear day. Antonio arrived with the crew and explained the work to them and they got started. I left for work and returned to find the work completed and the crew ready for departure. All work had been completed per the contract (trees removed, stumps ground, trees trimmed and all debris removed) with the exception of the large limbs from the largest tree removed. I was told another truck would come and remove the limbs in about 15 minutes and right on time the next guy showed up and removed the limbs. When my husband got home from work at he remarked that the only evidence that hey had been here was the missing trees and the neatly trimmed trees. We will definitely use them again!

Antonio spent a lot of time looking over the project to get us a quote. He even came out a second time to discuss the quote. We were very pleased with Nelson's work. They arrived right on time with an 8-person crew, and completed the project within one day. The family was shocked it took only one day! The lot was cleared with the understanding that any tree less than 10" in diameter would be removed. This was not the case, and I'm not sure how they decided which trees stayed, and which trees were removed. We are, however, pleased with their choices. It is thinned out nicely. In my mind I kinda thought the lot would be left in a state where I could simply spread grass seed, and mow. That was not the case. It still needs an industrial raking, and some ground leveling from the equipment ruts. We both should have communicated better what to expect. The final walk through required them to pick up some missed piles and some lunch trash they had left. They were not as thorough doing this as I had hoped. In the end, we are very pleased with their work, and we may contact them to perform some landscaping on the lot they cleared.

Crew friendly and responsive to requests.

Nelson Tree service provided me with excellent service. They came by at the scheduled time to review the work that needed to be done and were able to give me an extremely competitive quote on the spot. The quality of the work they performed was excellent - the tree trimmed looks great. And how they were able to remove the dead tree - which was encircled in a slightly raised plot surrounded by ornamental grass - without disturbing the stone wall or the other plantings was amazing. All traces that they had been present - other than the completed work - were removed and the yard was left in great shape. I highly recommend them and will use them again in the future.

They arrived early (wasn't expecting it so pleasantly surprised). In the past I've dealt with people who say they'll come at one time and then show up an hour or more later so for them to be on time was a plus. Initially I just wanted them to deal with 3 trees in my backyard which they did to my satisfaction. I ended paying for more time then I ultimately needed so the man in charge offered to take care of 2 other trees that weren't initially on my list of things I needed done. Again they exceeded my expectations.

They did a great job. Excellent workers, very punctual and courteous. Above and beyond.

I have called twice to get a tree removed and have not gotten a call back. This is terrible customer service. I have used this company in the past and they provided excellent service. I am sorely disappointed. I am going back on Angie's List to find another provider. Shame.

I was extremely pleased with the job that they performed. Everyone I interacted with was very professional, on time, and the site where they removed the trees looks great! I didn't have any other estimates because I called several other local tree removal companies and they did not return my call.

The Nelson tree removal crew were polite & real professionals. They were very efficient in seeing that the yard was not damaged by fallen branches & wood, and raked the yard clean of wood debris. We'd recommend them to anyone. We received three quotes & not only was Nelson's the lowest, but they honored the Angie's list discount they advertised.

Antonio came to give estimates within 24 hours upon initial contact. They were able to start the job immediately after. Guys took the time to do the job right, instead of rushing through it. Cleaned after self. Very happy with the result.

Really great, fast work, even on an extremely icy day. The team was very professional and cleaned up after themselves. No problems at all. It was amazing to watch.

This is the company to hire if you need to remove trees, stumps, trim trees. Very professional and customer oriented. I did not want heavy equipment in my back yard and this was one reason I hired them. Another reason was that when they send me the proposal a copy of their liability insurance was attached and, of course, the price was reasonable. The first day they sent a crew of three people who did the cutting and removal of the trees manually. They were very efficient and courteous. After two days another crew of two people came to grind the two stumps and remove the wood chips. I want to mention Mr. Gary Cooper who is the manager. I had called him a few times and he called me back shortly and was very helpful.

Antonio arrived as scheduled to provide me with an estimate and was very polite and professional. I was so thrilled with the price and that the work could be done the next day, I contracted with their service right on the spot. The next day the tree removers were almost 3 hours late for their scheduled 8 a.m. appointment. At 9 a..m. I called Antonio and the workers showed up at 10:45 a.m. They did a wonderful job getting the tree down and mulching it. They left the grounds clean and tidy.
