"We hired Nelson to do cleaning after the winter, mulching a very big area which involved getting rid of lots of weeds and leaves, replacing the weeds stopper fabric from under a vast area with marble chips, cutting the grass, making flower beds, landscaping edges, etc. From the first interaction with him, Nelson was very professional. While walking together all sides of the yard, he listened very attentively to what we were hiring him for. We were and we are very happy with his work. He showed up as promised and over delivered the entire work. Yes, over delivered. Not common nowadays. He and his crew are very hard workers and their work is very detailed. "Would NEVER use these people again. Cost was outrageous. Owner is very knowledgeable but the crew he sent didn't have a clue about how to trim a tree. They completely destroyed several mature japanese maples, to the point where I just want to cut them down to the ground. They cut away too many of the low branches, which is called "lion-tailing" (Google it). It will take 10+ years of careful and attentive grooming for these trees to develop any more low level growth. I can't say enough, just DO NOT use these people to do anything more than mow grass and remove weeds."

Because gravel moves, it requires different maintenance than asphalt or concrete. Here are a few maintenance tips for your gravel driveway. Every few years (or as often as needed):
Grade and level your driveway

Remove weeds with herbicide or by hand
Spray it with water to reduce the amount of dust kicked up

A gravel driveway should last for up to 100 years with proper upkeep, which is minimal. Maintaining a gravel driveway includes grading and adding fresh gravel to fill in potholes. Otherwise, a gravel driveway holds up well to all kinds of weather. Plowing in the winter can be challenging and the gravel can develop ruts or potholes that need to be repaired, but the cost and longevity of gravel compared to concrete, asphalt, and pavers makes gravel an economical option, especially for long and/or wide driveways.
