Description of Work: We just bought a new house and got a big surprise when we found water in the basement. Got five different estimates ranging from $5k to $10k for a variety of "solutions" when one of the contractors told us that the "real" solution would be to manage drainage and regrade our yard which would cost far more than the estimates we'd gotten. Jon and the team at Lawn Wrangler came to evaluate and gave us an estimate that was less than half the next lowest option. In just one day, they came and buried two downspouts, took down a raised garden, regraded our patio and the area under the deck (even though our yard was already below grade), found and replaced a drain pipe that we didn't know was broken and advised us on what we could do for ourselves that would help ensure we were getting all the benefits of the work that was done. I had no idea a landscaping company could help us with water in the basement but they work they did made it possible for us to move on with our lives quickly. They were recommended to me by family and I couldn't have been happier. Highly recommend!!

Description of Work: Landscaping with hardscaping - excellent appearance and quality of work. Price was higher than first estimated but project did grow as ideas were developed. A few small things that were promised in follow-up did not happen but there were minor and I think if I contact the owner, they will be taken care of.

Site was well managed, which we appreciated. Jon and crew were highly responsive as the project proceeded: we requested a few changes/modifications, all of which were incorporated with no problems. We tend to be exacting customers, with high standards. Lawn Wrangler lived up to our expectations.

+ -1 moreI was trying to get my yard spring cleaned at short notice and everyone was really busy - but out of 6 vendors I contacted via Angie's List only 2 responded - and John from the Lawn Wrangler was one of them. He called me within 24 hours, simply to inform me that he was booked out for the next four weeks but if that was ok then he would be happy to come out and give me a quote. I thought the fact that he simply responded was great, I never heard from four of the others. He was professional and polite and I will certainly contact him again when I schedule my yard clean up in the Fall.

+ 0 moreBrought and neatly distributed mulch for the large garden areas. Trimmed back bushes and trees. Cleaned walk ways when work was complete. Followed up with another visit a couple days later. Trimmed vines at base of trees to avoid the choking of trees. I have used Lawn Wrangler for approximately 7 years and Jon is constantly looking for ways to make their services better. Customer satisfaction is obviously very important to him and the others at Lawn Wrangler.

+ 2 moreHe is very, very good. He’s great. Jon Vander Vliet is his name. He has provided service every year since 2007. The cost is about $800 a year.
Description of Work: Lawn Wrangler comes out and does fertilization of the lawn. He does weed control. He provides the startup and shut down of my irrigation system. He also delivers mulch. I have been using him since 2007. In 2008 they also designed and built a retaining wall in our backyard to stop an erosion problem. 6 years later the wall is still in perfect condition and we are totally happy with this work.

+ -1 moreIt was wonderful and they did a really good job. They are very responsive. They are terrific. We have used them for about 2 years now. We were having a party and they came the day of to make sure the yard was in good shape. They crew is always very polite and professional.
Description of Work: They did the final winter cleanup on the yard. They take all the debris away. They come once a month for us. If I need them more they will come whenever I need them. They prune the bushes.

+ -1 moreAs usual they were very thorough cleaning up a large amount of leaves on over an acre of lawn and throughout the areas surrounding the lawn. They blew the leaves out of the surrounding areas and then carefully mulched the leaves ensuring no debris found its way back into the bushes or the fence. They are always very polite and responsive to any queries. We have worked with them for years and continue to do so. I would recommend them to anyone.

+ 4 moreIt is great and so far so good. It is great and so far so good. They are very easy to work with and very professional. The owner is very nice and responsive. He has a great staff. Their prices are very competitive and the crew is excellent. We have been with them for about 4 months now.
Description of Work: They have done lawn renovations, installed new flower beds, drainage, leaves and snow removal. The have installed river rock. They also cut our grass and they are also going to be doing weed control.

They saved me a lot of money and had a different approach to doing the job compared to other companies. He saved me about $2000. They got the job done in about 2 days. The crew was very professional and I was very pleased with them. They did exactly what they said they were going to do.
Description of Work: They did some landscaping. They also installed a water drainage system from the sump pump and the rain spout. They put a basin in and extended the sump pump and rain spout out about 8 ft. out from the foundation of my house to run the water away. They installed some new plants in my landscaping.

I have had other lawn services and they were within $5 to $6 of all the other companies. I really like the owner and he informs you of what needs to be done and is on top of his crew. I have been very happy with them. They always show up on time. The crew works steady the whole time.
Description of Work: They do a spring cleanup, rake out flower beds, and put in new mulch. They also haul the leaves and grass away. They also fertilize the yard in the fall and spring. They also prune the bushes and branches on the trees.

+ 1 more1) showed up on time and did the work in the estimated time - the workmanship was excellent down to the smallest details. 2) the appearance met and exceeded our expectations - riverstone behind flowerbeds, blue stone driveway and flagstone walkway were all suggested by Jon and fit perfectly with our house - couldn't be happier - and as an added bonus this kept the price low 3) the sod is doing beautifully and with the soil they brought in, to condition the soil, it is looking beautiful - the neighbors continue to compliment us on it !

We would highly recommend them to the others who need lawn service. We don’t have a comparison with regard to their price but it’s acceptable for us. We will continue to use them in the future. We have had them for four years and our neighbors have had them for longer.

I have them come 3 times a month during grass season and have never had to call to remind them that I need service. Two of my neighbors also use Lawn Wrangler because I the excellent service I've received.The company also plows our street during the winter. They do a great job (even during the blizzard). Their prices are very competitive.

+ 0 moreThey did an outstanding job! They were here when scheduled and when weather and material supply necessitated a change, John was right on top of communicating with we. John Vander Vliet, the owner, was wonderful to work with. He was flexible and creative. The two men who did the actual installation were patient, accurate and careful. Several parts of the walkway were curved and they did an excellent job of cutting and fitting the pavers. Their price was considerably less than that quoted by another firm. I think the price was very fair particularly considering the quality of the installation. We have received many compliments from our neighbors and friends who have visited. I would recommend them without reservation.
Description of Work: Designed and replaced front concrete walkway with pavers. Added pavers to front concrete stoop. Trimmed existing shrubs. Removed and replanted shrubs. Added new plantings.
