 + -1 morePrecision Garage Doors Inc did a good job. We had a lot of stuff to be replaced and they replaced it afterwards. The only issue that we had was that the warranty doesn't last too long and we didn't know that. We had to have them to come out in April and they were trying to charge us for it, so if I were to recommend them to somebody, I would tell them to find out how long the warranty is and exactly what it covers. We had to find out and get our paper work and prove that we paid this and that and things like that.
Description of Work: We used Precision Garage Doors Inc.They worked on our garage door and the mechanisms of the door.

 + -1 moreThe gentleman who came out was professional but basically he looked at my garage door and told me that I needed to do about $1,000 worth of work to it to replace the springs with a whole new system. He sprayed some WD-40 in the rollers. His advice might have been right but I felt that I paid $79 for what amounted to an estimate that would have been free if I had called them out to look at the door. Live and learn on these types of deals. At least it only cost me $79.
Description of Work: I bought a "Big Deal" from Angie's List for a "Garage Door Inspection and Reconditioning!". I expected that the company would adjust the current springs to better balance the door.

 + -1 moreThe worm drive, which is what we really wanted serviced, would have cost extra. They did use the opportunity to identify and replace a worn pulley, the price for that was reasonable. We also opted for safety wires in the springs which we've wanted for a while, but a bit pricey at $99 a pair.
Description of Work: The $79 tuneup special only included lube of the tracks.

 + -1 moreWhen I called, I was able to make an appointment right away for the next day. The technician came on time and was very professional and efficient. He explained what he was doing and how I could take care of certain maintenance to avoid problems. He performed a 25 point Safety Check; door lubrication; tightened all bolts and adjusted the springs. My garage door had begun to malfunction at times and has been working very well since the "tune up". I will definitely call Precision again.
Description of Work: This was a prepaid Angies List Big Deal with Precision. It was for a garage door inspection and reconditioning.

 + -1 moreIt was not a good experience. The technician was fine. The home office that did scheduling was unprofessional and rude. They are not local and had no idea of the service areas. They scheduled an appointment for me at a convenient time, but then cancelled it the day of the service because they did not realize I was not in the assigned service area. The reschdeuling was inconvenient and I ended up taking two days off work for what amounted to less than an hour of work. About 3 weeks later the garage door mysteriously started opening without warning but they refused to come out and check it.

I needed the service done rather quickly - within the next week - and the representative told me that they could show up either that day, or the next. The technician finished another job early and showed up to my house in a professionally, and well-marked vehicle, and his behavior matched the initial image. He was professional, competent, and thorough and advised me how to maintain my 30 year old garage door for a little bit longer before I have to replace it. I know it will need replacing soon, but for now, the door is working fine due to his work. He was friendly and efficient and I can't recommend them highly enough.

Luckily, I had not needed to take off work or anything to be home, but I still felt more comfortable going with a different company.
Description of Work: After an unfortunate meeting of mini-van hatch-gate and garage door, we needed to repair or replace our garage door. I made several calls to get estimates for both options. An estimator was scheduled to come by on Monday morning. The time window came and went. Finally in the late afternoon, he called and said he'd been ill and didn't have his clipboard with him, and did I want to reschedule. At this point, I already had another estimate in hand, plus I had a handyman scheduled to come in the next morning to give his opinion. The gentleman offered to give me a tentative estimate using the basic details I was able to give him [size & thickness]. The other estimate was several hundred dollars less, so I scheduled the work with the other company.

 + -1 moreThey seemed professional but it was one of those coupon deals so there was a bunch of things I had to buy myself so I wasn't that happy with the deal. You had to buy extra things here and there. The deal wasn't explicit so they had an upsell and I had to buy some stuff off of them apart from the coupon. When I asked about prices all the prices seemed ridiculously expensive. I think they are mostly commercial or something like that. The prices they were charging for different things compared to my local hardware store were way out of the ball park. I didn't do to much extra with them. They did good work, showed up on time. They had a truck filled with parts and pieces, they certainly knew garage doors.
