Precision Door Service

The service was great. It was very professional, on time and they did a great job. The price was exactly as we had arranged. The work met my expectations.

The installer called ahead to confirm that he was on the way and arrived on time. He was professional and obviously experienced. We were a bit disappointed to learn that our coupon for $30 off would not apply since we had purchased our own garage door opener and not the one that their company offered. However, we were pleased to get the Angie's members discount. The installation appeared to be completed without problems. The unit works well and was very quiet for a couple of months. After about 2 1/2 months, the railing that was attached to the wall above the garage door pulled completely out. The bolts that had been supporting the railing fell to the floor. I immediately called Precision Garage Doors and informed then of the problem. They indicated that the warranty on the labor was only covered for 30 days and stated that there would be a service charge of approximately $50 to come out to evaluate the problem. I explained that the problem was that the bolts had not been screwed into a stud but had only been secured into the drywall when they did the initial installation and protested that this was faulty installation. There is nothing wrong with the garage door opener. The company rep stated that the warranty had expired and that there would still be a service charge. I indicated that I would not pay them more to do a job that was not done correctly in the first place. I would definitely not recommend this company to anyone.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. They did a fine job. They were really pricey. It turned out we needed some additional work done. The additional work is a fair price but I thought it was a bit high. I've used them before. They do a very good work.

I would never use them again. They were deceptive. They were advertising for garage door tune up and tune up for me typically means that if anything needs minor adjustments that are what they do but in fact all they do is 25 point check. They don’t fix anything. If you cancel after you determine that then they charge you $50 to cancel. The technician that was here plus talking to the manager over the phone in their office was poor. They were just argumentative and redefined plans that this is what you got and for them tune up means check ad doesn’t say 25 point check. They guy showed up when he said he would.

I called the company before purchasing the Big Deal. I called to make sure they could service my area and see how soon they can come out. They said they would service my area and they could come out on Friday. While I was on the phone with them I purchased the big deal. The next day I get a very unofficial email from a private email saying that they only service MD. Nothing on this email said Precision Doors or led me to believe it was said business. I asked them to identify themselves and they said it was from the owners. I called the company back and the operator said my appointment was still set and that they will be there between 12 and 2 pm on Friday. They stated that it was not a problem to service the area. I double checked just before my appointment and that's when they stated the appointment was cancelled.

I took advantage of a $99 coupon to have my garage door checked. Everything went smoothly and very professional. The door seemed to be in pretty good shape, but there was a loose connection to the front wall. I was unaware of this and it could have been dangerous if he had not found the problem and corrected it. I was very thankful for the good outcome. I would certainly use this company again.

The key for me is for contractors to stick to their appointments and come on time. This company arrived when they said they would. They only took a hour to repair the door. The process went smooth and I was pleased. I would recommend them to other members.

They were very professional, arrived on time, and did the work as described in the deal. They actually even did a few other things that they noticed that were sort of broken, without any additional charge. So it was really great. I will use them again, for sure.

They arrived on time and did their work which had been paid for on line because it was a promotion. They were pleasant and made suggestions for improvements if I wished.

Precision Garage Doors were really good. I highly recommend them. All my neighbors think I have the best garage doors in the neighborhood. I did not pay any additional, they were right on the money. It was very straightforward. It only took them 1 day to put it in. They took all the trash and it works like a charm ever since. It's quiet and does what it was supposed to, it works fine. They came out right away, took care of it and everything has worked well. They really were very careful about cleaning up the mess and hauling away the old stuff, it's something that not everyone is so careful about, they did a good job with that. I'd recommend them. I don't have a need for another garage door.

Came out to check door. Needed a garage pane. Came next day and replaced the panel. Good work garage is working fine.

I ended paying more than the $129 because the gentleman found more things wrong with the door. He told me that the replacement springs I had a couple of years before were not strong enough. He spent a lot of time here and seemed to be very thorough.

I called Precision Garage Door to help me fix an existing garage door where the hardware had failed. They took my name and number so a technician could contact me about potential solutions which would eliminate the cost of an onsite estimate. After 48 hours of not hearing from them, I called them back. They verified that they had my correct contact information. Essentially I explained to them that I cannot do business with a company that doesn't respond to customer requests in a timely manner. I will not work with a company that does not respond to a customer's call in 24 hours, much less 48 hours or not at all. This could be an isolated incident, but they will not be getting business from my family or my friends. Too bad, their reviews seemed excellent.

They were very good, very prompt and they did exactly what the deal said and what I had asked them to do. They did a nice job. I did pay an extra charge for my request to change the weather stripping under the door because they had been kind of eaten up.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was our first time to use them. It was a huge waste of money. The way that it was raised up is not actually how it was laid out. That was, I think, $79 worth so I think it was an awful waste of money. I could have bought a can and did the stuff myself for $10. That was their idea of reconditioning. Based on the fact that I am an English teacher, that is not my definition of reconditioning. When he left, he left the garage door open and it was stuck and he had to come back and he had to undo whatever he did to get to where he was spraying to disable the electronics on it. He was a nice guy but I felt like he was pressuring for sale and I think it was false advertising on Angie's List side for what it actually was. I don't find it professional to use the hard pressure sales acting.

I found this company on Angie’s List. They came pretty quickly when I set up an appointment. The garage looks like brand new and it opens quietly and smoothly unlike it did before. They’re very thorough and explained everything that they were doing and why. I also like when they sent me the confirmation for the appointment. They sent me pictures of all the people of their technicians so I would recognize people who are on them.

I shopped around a bit and Precision was the best price ($190 for the springs, $45 for the service call, and $150 for a tuneup). When they came out, all of a sudden the springs were $160 times two. I mentioned it to him and he said he didnt know, but that was the price (take it or leave it was implied but unsaid). I wanted it done so I took it. The work was what I expected, but below average for my expectations based on the price (hence the lower grade). But the kicker, was that they disconnected my exterior keypad. Now they will have to come back out, and I have to get off work early again. Would I be surprised if somehow they charge me for this call as well? Nope. Not terrible, but would not work with them again.
