HAMPSTEAD GARAGE DOORS

In February 2011, my garage door stopped working. I contacted C&D Garage Doors and scheduled an appointment with Chadd. According to Chadd, he took the business over from his dad (when it was formerly Hampstead Garage Doors) and he does most of the work (if not all) as far as I know. I have used his services on several occasions and have liked his work. The only negative is that he has a problem contacting you to let you know if he's running late or cannot make his appointment. Chadd told me I needed a new gear for my door. He said my options were to buy a new one or he could get me a rebuilt one for half the price. He also said he could get me the rebuilt one put in and have my garage door fixed that day. Since he rebuilds the gears himself and he had been reliable in the past, I said to go ahead with the rebuilt gear. So, on February 21, 2011, Chadd installed the rebuilt gear and sprocket and the garage door worked fine. I called him a few days later to tell him that my garage door was not closing all the way and he gave me instructions on how to fix it myself. I figured this was ok because this way I wouldn't have to wait several days for him to come to the house. Unfortunately, less than 4 weeks later my garage door stopped working again. I called Chadd and scheduled an appointment. Needless to say, Chadd did not show up and never called. I called Chadd the next day and rescheduled an appointment for 3 days later and, once again, he did not show up or call. I explained to him that I understand that he is busy, but I would appreciate it if he would call me if he couldn't make his appointment because I am sitting at home waiting for him. It's been 5 weeks since that last missed appointment and I have been calling and leaving him messages almost every other day and he will not return my calls. He made a repair that didn't last and is now avoiding me when all he really needs to do is repair the gear or refund my money.

THEY WERE VERY PROMPT. THEY ARRIVED THE VERY NEXT DAY TO THE FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY ADVISED THAT WE INSTALL NEW SPRINGS INSTEAD OF TIGHTENING SINCE THEY WERE SO OLD. THEY WERE VERY HONEST AND HELPFUL.
