They did a great job. Originally received a quote from Matt, the owner, in Spring 2014. Matt said that my roof could potentially wait a couple years before replacement, but at a minimum, I should replace the boots around the various vent pipes because they were cracked. Because I didn't have any problems at the time, I decided to wait a year. In Spring 2015, called a couple vendors back including Matt to revise their quotes. Matt's quote was inline with others, but offered a slightly better value given a few small differences. Matt came by the house to address any questions and I signed the contract. He had information in hand to answer any questions that I had. Work was scheduled to occur within a couple weeks. On the scheduled day, there was a slight chance of rain in the afternoon, so they decided to hold off a day to ensure that my house was protected. Actual workmanship was excellent. The crew that did the job worked a long day (~12 hrs) and got almost everything done in the single day. They showed up the next day to finish the job. The crew was courteous and attentive to detail. They did a great job cleaning up any debris that was left. They rain a magnet around the house several times to get any nails that may have fallen. We've got a lot of bushes / flowers that surround the house and they did a great job in watching out for the plants.

Were were very please with the price and the quality of the work that Walter Brown Roofing did for us on our home. Matt, the owner, came to our house, walked the roof with me to answer questions and show me problem areas and the fixes they would make. He explained the different shingle type that we could select. His office quickly provided some local homes that had recently replaced roofs in the colors we were considering. We finalized our selection based on the homes we saw. The work was scheduled and completed promptly. After the work was completed, Walter Brown Roofing quickly provided our warranty certificates and submitted the required paperwork to the shingle manufacturer.

They were terribly professional. There was a small hole near a gutter. I don't blame them for missing the hole, because our job was big. They did fix the hole, but it took them a fair amount of time and several calls, before they returned to fix it?They performed repairs and inserted the insulation at no extra cost. ?I would highly recommend them again.

The workers were all professional and worked long continous hours to complete the job on time. They were careful and covered all plants and exterior lights, no damage. After the job the cleaned up and it looks as if they never there.

They responded quickly and finished work in 2 days as promised. Cleaned up yard pretty well. Every time I called, they picked up the phone and explained. I recommend this company to my friends.

We have a small roof leak that comes in our attic. I've had another roofer evaluate and repair the same leak. It worked for a short time, but the leak returned. Rather than bring back the same roofer, I selected these folks based on positive reviews here. (This was my first try with an Angies List contractor, but I've hired many, many contractors over the years because I'm in the real estate business.) So, since my previous roofer only provided a temporary fix and I wanted somebody really good to diagnose and correct the problem once and for all, I was very disappointed when a 21 year old fellow showed up (alone). I wanted a very good roofer and, pardon me for being blunt, I think time on the job and experience are major determinants of how good a tradesman is. I tried to be open minded and let him take a look at the problem area, but when he tried to explain what he thought the problem was, he just didn't instill much confidence....especially when he described it as a "major repair". He said it would only take about two hours, which doesn't seem very major to me, but his description of the problem and the solution just weren't very convincing. When I scheduled the visit, I didn't indicate any urgency. I wish they'd sent me someone with more experience, rather than waste everyone's time.

After receiving estimates from three other "A-Rated" roofing companies, we selected Walter Brown roofing, based in large measure on the thoroughness of Matt Cisna's inspection and estimate. We are glad we selected them. The crew arrived as scheduled, and covered all our shrubbery. They proceeded to carefully remove the two layers of old shingles, examining the existing plywood underlayment for integrity; more than half of the plywood had to be replaced, as we expected. Then the crew of nine installed the new plywood and roof, carefully sealing all cracks and seams as they progressed. Four new skylights were installed over our screened porch, and ridge vents were installed on each roof. They made several key adjustments to our gutters, as we requested (which proved highly effective in the 7+ inch deluge the following week). Finally, they removed the covers from our shrubs, carefully ran a large roller-magnet around our house, and removed all vestiges of the old roofing materials. Our new roof looks great, and it's leak-free!

Gave us an honest opinion of the condition of our roof, did not just try to sell us a new roof. Promptly did repairs to leaks that we were having and when a leak reoccured they quickly came out to do another repair at no additional cost.

When I called to get a quote, the woman who answered was very friendly and answered all of my questions. I was told Bob would be out to my property that Friday to do a quote since that was the next day with a non-rainy forecast. He called Friday morning and was very clear about what he suggested we do, and how much it would cost. He I agreed to have the work done, and he put me on the schedule for the following Tuesday. I didn't have to be home while the work was done, so he said the invoice would be left attached to my door. It rained that Tuesday and Wednesday so the work didn't get done until Thursday, but as I didn't have any leaking that was no problem. The invoice was mailed to me and arrived the following Monday. It was for exactly what was quoted. I am very happy with the prompt and friendly service provided and will definitely be using Walter Brown Roofing for any future roofing work!

Arrived as scheduled and completed the repair within about an hour. Assessed overall condition of (19-yr-old) roof--i.e., should be replaced, probably before winter.

They were fine. They came right out. They were very responsive. I would call them again if we had a problem with the roof or if the work didn't work right.

Communications with the company were very good from start to finish. They came to do both the estimate and the work on time. They gave us a good estimate for the work as well as a detailed explanation. Additionally, they noticed some loose nails and caulking that needed to be addressed, and just went ahead and took care of it. That was most appreciated, as we had just paid another company for roof maintenance and suspected that they did not do a thorough job.... We were shown pictures of the work, and they were very meticulous with the woodwork. They had to take the wood to their shop for painting since we had some rain, and they brought back the paint (on a Friday evening) for us, as we needed it for other repairs. After the work was completed, Robert called to go over the details and make sure we got our paint back. Very happy to have found this company.

Straight, no-nonsense, and professional. No complaints, and I would recommend them to anyone.

They were a little slow in returning my call, but once scheduled, the crew came when they said they would, cleared the snow, put it where I asked them to, and cleaned up around the edge of the snow pile.

Very reassuring since the person who supposedly replaced the pipe collar flashing just a few years ago, wasn't nearly so optimistic about the lifespan of my roof. I'll be contacting Walter Brown Roofing every year to inspect/repair my roof. And when the time comes for replacement, I know I'll be using them.

The owner is hands-on and is very responsive. When I call they usually provide next day or even same day service for small repairs. I needed an estimate for my roof replacement and he was fast, to the point and didn't try to sell me a bunch of stuff I don't need. He said "well I'd do it like I was doing my own house". He even went into our attic to check the boards and make an estimate if anything would need replacing. His estimate was $4250 for our townhouse roof (12-13 sq), with a 30 year shingle and GAF weather stopper and new pipe collars, drip edge flashing, and ridge vent. Best guy in town. Truely an honest hardworking company. They can offer such great prices because the owner does the estimates and "selling" himself, they don't pay anyone else to go out and sell for them.

I thought the price was reasonable. The foreman, Jeremy, listened to all my requests and made sure everything was done the way I wanted it. The crew was on time and very professional and did a great job of installing the shingles and cleaning up after they were done. They took extra care to pick up all the nails as I requested and even fixed a gutter that was sagging. The owner and estimator, Matthew explained everything and made sure all the work that I requested was documented properly in the contract. I usually hate dealing with contractors but this was a pleasant experience. Bottom line, they did everything that they said they would do, the right way. I highly recommend Walter Brown Roofing.

We had gotten 2 estimates to have a new roof put on our house. Basically for the same quality shingles, we got a better price with Walter Brown. Based on Angie's list reviews and a personal recommendation from a friend, we choose Walter Brown. We did have to call them to confirm when they were going to come to the house, rather than they proactively calling us, but that's a very small issue. The crew arrived early and worked long days. It took 4 days to complete the job, removing the old shingles and replacing some wood around the chimney. Replacing flashing at the chimney,etc. They were careful to ensure there were no nails left on the ground at the end of each day. The roof looks great. We are very pleased with the workmanship and look of the roof.

This company was responsive before and while the work was being performed. ?A crew came out on the first day and tore off the old roofing materials on the main roof and garage. ?The second day, there wasn't much progress because the crew didn't show up until 4 in the afternoon. ?All day we had been calling them to find out when they'd be there and were assured that they were 20 minutes away. ?This went on from about 8AM until they showed up! ?My wife had worked from home so that she could be here to have access to the bathrooms and to monitor the progress. ?Needless to say, we were not happy! ? When they did, the foreman, Francisco, was very apologetic. ?They worked until dark, but couldn't finish everything. ?They showed back up the next morning (Saturday) and finished everything up. The gutters went up once the new siding, installed by John Pomeroy's crew, was completed. The gutter crew came in and installed the new 6" seamless?gutters in a couple of hours.?Very efficient. Overall, I'd rate Walter Brown Roofing as excellent to work with. We had 6 contractors bid on the job and they were very competitive and responsive. Some contractors didn't even follow up. ?I guess they were too busy to be bothered with potential customers that used Angie's List to find contractors that were both highly-rated and would work with you on the price. Except for the 2nd day problems, we were very happy with this company and would recommend them to friends and family. They helped us stay within our budget and even matched a lower bid for the gutters. Very competitive. The cleanup they did was phenomenal! There was literally NO debris left in the yard or in bushes!
