TruGreen Lawn Care - 5022

I would not recommend them as they started out okay then went down hill fast. Techs started changing, when calling customer service they are a call center needed to wait for calls to be returned as there is not direct number to the local office and very disappointed that a Manager at the local office never called, was told by customer service that they would call back but ended up getting someone else in the office - here is a partial list of issues - service not being completed, the printer broke in the truck unable to leave printout of what was done this happened several times, weeds don't seem to be going away, when the tech came back out never did anything sat in the truck then left. Will not be renewing with them. Oh we did get a refund for the last service only since we did not want them back.

I've had service with them for a couple decades. Now we are taking $5000 worth of trees down. Actually the trees are 100 year old trees. So there is a whole variety of trees coming down off of our yard that they were supposed to be taking care of for the last 20 years but obviously haven't done a good job. I have young trees diseased and dead old trees. I have all kinds of tree problems that I thought I was paying for to protect. Unfortunately, now I'm having to have them all taken down because they are either dead or dying. When we realized that one of the trees didn't leaf out this year, we were quite concerned and we called an arborist. He came out and said yeah the tree is dead. I started dealing with TruGreen. It was an insane battle with them to get any kind of actual service or response or cooperation or anything. It was just a nightmare. They were awful. It was all about not their fault whatever. They lied to me. They didn't respond to my inquiries. I had to continue to follow up with them. It was just months of unprofessional and inappropriate professional behavior. We no longer do business with them. It was a lack of responsiveness, lack of any kind of value for what we paid over the last few decades and irreplaceable trees. One day they didn't even show up and I waited all day. The guy never called, never anything. I had to follow up with him about why he didn't show. Then he said when he did show up he said he was going to bring out his regional manager and that didn't happen. He didn't even talk to him. So I called them up again. They are well aware of how upset I am with services provided or lack there of.

Not very well, wasn't happy. They were unreliable, said they were coming on tuesday and wouldn't show up for two weeks. Net results did not give me the results i wanted.

They were professional and worked quickly. They would let us know the day before they came so we could keep out dogs out of the yard.

They are our provider and they do service for us all year long.

Awful. First, I could not get a service tech to meet me at my property, despite having the customer service rep put on my order that he should call me before arriving. On the second or third treatment, he burnt several spots in my lawn, which, for all I know, is a common occurrence. But again, I could not get him to meet me at my residence. When he did come to look, without me, he said the brown spots were my fault because I wasn't watering. Which, of course, was just a lie. Again, I called three times to speak to a manager to determine why he wouldn't meet me at the house. Each time I was told a manager would call me back. I never got a call back.

Hired TruGreen to do chemical treatment on trees in my yard. When I called to book the service, I was given another number to call to schedule the service. The first person took my credit card information without a problem but then the scheduling person said she couldn't give me an actual date of service as it was based on availability. I requested a certain date (for a week later) and she said that she would try, and call me back if that date was not available. If the date was available, then a technician would call me to confirm the time of service. I never got a call back from the scheduling department and so called to check the date. I was told, it was fine. I then never got a call from any technician as to the time of day he would be at my house. As this was his first visit and I have pets, I needed to be at home to wait for him (not to mention take the day off work!). After 3 calls throughout the day to customer service, the technincian never called, and actually never showed up!! On my 3rd call to the company, I asked to speak to a manager and was told that someone would call me back. A manager still has not called me back 2 days later!!!! Needless to say I cancelled my service with TruGreen and will never do business with them again. They lost my trust and were not helpful in solving the problem!

TruGreen is the absolute worse company I have ever encountered. After over a year of paying for their services, my lawn showed NO improvement. I specifically hired them to help me with the bug problems in my garden - weevils in my side beds, scale on my hollies, and aphids on my roses. They came regularly and their technicians were polite, but there was absolutely NO improvement. In fact, my shrubs had more bugs than they did when I purchased service and my lawn had more weeds than ever. I also constantly received bills for work that I had already paid for. By far, the worst aspect of the experience is the ceaseless harassment that ensues after you cancel your service. I made it clear to TruGreen that I loathed them and I never wanted to hear from them again, but every single year since they call me DAILY for months at a time (specifically in the fall and spring). I've threatened legal action, I've reported them to the FCC and the better business bureau, I've screamed at their telemarketers on the phone and received assurances I would never be contacted again, and yet the harassment continues. I have since heard from co-workers and neighbors that this is apparently a long honored business practice of the company. Once TruGreen acquires your contact information THEY NEVER LEAVE YOU ALONE! They cloak their numbers, call from different numbers, call at different hours of the day, essentially they constantly harass you! I currently have 3 separate auto-reject numbers for the company in my phone and yet they STILL find ways to call me! DO NOT USE TRU GREEN! You will regret it for the rest of your life.

Either the materials did not work or the program was not effective on our lawn. Discontinued their services.

After a year, our lawn still has bald spots. Tree and shrub service killed recently planted bushes and now Japanese beetle infestation has destroyed rose bushes and crape myrtles. After calling a week ago to have somebody come to save rose bushes and crape myrtles, still no response. Refused to accept their technician killed 6 bushes and received no communication from manager regarding incident.

We never had them come back again. We would never recommend them to anyone else. I guess some of their worst employees were on our property. Me and my wife did a much better job later on our property than they did. We planted grass seeds and all of the the grass grew thick in the dirt only areas.

Archaic request system. Field applicant communication does not go back to headquarters for updating services or requests by homeowners. Field representative indicated request/changes would be honored but in fact, were never communicated to home office and therefore were never implemented. Only requests with sales representatives are honored. Sales representatives are always calling and trying to sell you additional products and services, and when you refuse them they get very pushy on the phone, to the point of unprofessionalism. On top of all of this, despite using this company for many years, our lawn never looked good. Not worth the money or the hassle. Terrible customer service. Fired them over the phone on 5/23/14 and would NEVER recommend them to anyone. Steer clear of this company!!!!

Trugreen has been doing my grass treatments for some time now. This year for the first time I needed some help with tree and shrub care because a tree in my yard has need for some attention. The tree and shrub expert came out and looked things over and immediately saw what the problem was and they treated it as soon as weather was permitting. They also previously to that sent out an expert to look at an area on my lawn that I thought was dying grass, but turned out to be nothing serious at all and is gone now. The employees that do the grass chems are always on time and very polite but they are there to treat the lawn and not diagnose the issues - for that you place a call to the main number and they send the various experts out to look things over. I have used other grass companies in the past but this company seems to really make the grass look great. I am sure that the trees and shrubs will also improve with their care now. They really seem to aim to please and are very professional and capable. I recommend this branch from Hagerstown very highly.

They have done a good job on the lawn for me. Their prices are not too bad. They were responsive as well. Their prices are pretty reasonable for the work that they were doing. They scheduled to be here one day but I never heard from them; they did not show up that day.

My son purchased a years worth of lawn service from a discount flyer from the main company. The contract of service included fertilization and irrigation. We called in to schedule with the nearest office which we were told Hagerstown, Md. They told us they would be out on April 25, 2013 between 12-5pm. Around 4:45 I called the office after waiting all day and was told they were still coming. I called back around 730pm and was told they would come on Friday. No one showed up on Friday so I called and was told they would call us on Monday; no calls. On Tuesday my son called and they said they would contact me today and they would come out the same day April 29th or Wednesday April 30th. Once I did not hear from them on Tuesday April 29th I called into the office and was told we were not scheduled until Thursday May 2nd. I requested to cancel my contract stating that is not what we were told and if it is this hard to get you guys to come for the first visit I did not want to deal with them for the whole year. They transferred me to the service department. A man by the name of Brian Bennets assured me that the representative made a mistake and they were coming on May 1st. He also stated that pulled our ticket and sent it up to management to make sure it gets dispatched. He ask me to give them one more chance before cancelling and assured me they would come to the house on Wednesday May 1, 2013. My son just called them to see if they were coming in the morning or afternoon for today Wednesday May 1, 2013 and was told again we were not scheduled until May 2nd. He ask to speak to the service manager and told them exactly what Brian told me yesterday. The service manager my son spoke to said again we are not on the schedule for May 1st. My son cancelled the appointment. I do believe that we may encounter some additional trouble trying to get his money back and I do believe if he would have kept the contract and we would have settled for the May 2nd dispatch which was different from what was promised, no one would have showed up. In the meantime the weeds in my yard have gotten out of hand. We could have applied a weed treatment ourselves or hired another company if this company had honored their committment. Since we paid up front for the year they already had our money without providing any services at all. Do not hire this company!!

The lawn look very green and they seem to do what they need to do.

My lawn does not look that great. whoever they had come out last year to do the work did a horrible job and it has not looked good since. I had them come back and it did not do any good.

They said they would get a treatment on my lawn, but I was home all day and they did not come. I have an ongoing issue with this company. I kept giving them chances, and they kept promising they would make it up. We dealt with that for two years. The office staff is horrible, and they are horrible. They don't follow through on their promises. They treat when they are not supposed to, and then they bill you. Then they don't do treatments when they are supposed to. When you call their office, they pick up the phone and hang it back up. Overall, they are all very belligerent and nasty people. The overall experience is F, and I would give them lower if I could. I would not use this provider again.

They come out quarterly. I am satisfied with the services.

We thought it was a little expensive.

They are competitively priced, and I can depend on their service. They do good work, and I will continue to use them in the future.

By the end of last summer 2010 our lawn looked worse than the neighbors who had no lawn service at all. We were overwhelmed with weeds. I phoned to ask why and was told that they did not do a pre-emergent weed control application in spring so therefore all the weeds. Company called and called to try to restart our service. Sorry TruGreen, you're fired!!!

They sprayed once in the spring of 2010 and then began incessantly calling me for followup spraying. I told them over and over that I did not want a followup and would do my own lawn care. I came home last week on March 21, 2011 to find a TRUGREEN flag in my yard that they had sprayed and a bill for $71.02. I did not ever contact them or authorize a spraying. How can I get them to stop contacting me and how do I get this bill cancelled? Thank you. Bruce Prestidge

THE TREATMENTS FOR THE LAWN PRODUCED NO GROWTH. WE USED THEM FOR ONE WHOLE YEAR AND THEY PROVIDED TREATMENTS SIX TIMES A YEAR. WE ARE NO LONGER USING THEM, BECAUSE WE WERE NOT SATISFIED WITH THE PREVIOUS RESULTS WE RECEIVED.

I AM VERY IMPRESSED BY THIS COMPANY. THE LAWN LOOKS WONDERFUL WHEN THEY HAVE COMPLETED THE LAWN. WHEN THEY ARE COMPLETE THEY ASKED IF I HAD ANY QUESTIONS ON THE LAWN AND IN TWO WEEKS THEY WILL BE BACK OUT.
