Roy Craig is a very nice guy who doesn't seem to run his business very well. He gave us an estimate which was significantly lower than other quotes we got, saying he was giving us a special discount because I am a pastor. On the day of the work we got a call that he wanted more money because the project required more asphalt than he'd estimated. The seal-coating of the asphalt was only on the part of the driveway not repaved because, according to Mr. Craig, the new asphalt needed to cure…but they did seal the asphalt patch they did up near the garage, which is also new asphalt. They coated, THEN they sealed the seam around the patch, leaving a very obvious rectangle of seam sealing. Mr. Craig is a member of the family that owns the large Craig Paving Company, but is in no way part of their operation, perhaps for a reason…
Description of Work: We needed the surface of the driveway near the street raised to keep rain run-off from street from developing into a large pool 2-3" deep. We asked for a ridged/hump at the driveway entrance to prevent run-off from the street entering the driveway. We also wanted to have the entire driveway sealed.

The estimate process was pretty quick and painless and the price was in line with other estimates. We chose Craig's based on a friends recommendation and scheduled the job. They came out and got it done without an incident, however there was a good deal of loose asphalt material around in the yard when they were done, I assumed that was normal. By August there were the beginnings of ruts forming where the new widened space was added, so we inquired to them and were sent a letter stating the issue would be addressed and repaired after winter to allow any settling to finish. That made sense so we agreed and waited until Spring. By around June or July we hadn't heard from them so I called again, now having grass growing up through the outer 4-6 inches of new pavement the whole way around the driveway. I called again in August and was told someone would be out in "mid September". It is now October 20th, 2012 and no one has been here from Craig's to address my issues with poor craftsmanship. I left a voicemail on Monday October 15th asking for a call back and have not heard from them. At this point I am left to assume they took my money, provided a poor product with worse customer service, and washed their hands of us as customers. I would not recommend this company for any paving job no matter how small.
Description of Work: Had my existing driveway paved over and widened one side into another parking space over what used to be grass.
