We hired James to do a small basement bathroom that was already roughed in. We paid him $5000 to do the job and paid him up front. He framed the unfinished walls and set the tub. After hiring guys to do the drywall, we were told the framing was done incorrectly, which impacted the drywall. James promptly came out to talk to the drywall guys, and they proceeded with their job. When it came time to hire a tile guy, he pointed out that the previous drywall guys installed the drywall and concrete board incorrectly and it would need to be torn out and redone. Enter drywall guy #2. That sweet gentleman worked and worked to fix the drywall to the best of his ability, but because the framework was faulty, nothing could done perfectly. This caused the tile guy a lot of extra work, enormous frustration, and his end result had an few unavoidable flaws. James has been ghosting us since April, (other than one text asking us to send a photo of the toilet we wanted) we are left to assume he isn’t finishing the job. At this point, he owes us a refund for a toilet that we paid for yet was never delivered, as well as a refund for the work that was never completed. We had a new plumber look at the job today, and were told most everything was installed incorrectly. Our tiny bathroom has turned into a very expensive, very lengthy project that still remains unfinished.

This company still came out in 10' weather to unclog our drain at a very reasonable price. I would recommend them to anyone. Very professional and friendly. Explained everything they were doing and what we were doing wrong. Excellent company..

I had Mid-Maryland help me choose and install an on-demand water softener for my home a year ago. Disastrous first week with stinky, brown water? they had no idea what was wrong, took a few days to figure it out, and had me use bottled water until it cleared. (They did not ?cause? the bad water, but should have known it would happen under the circumstances and prepared me with alternatives.) Then all seemed okay? right up until the water stopped softening. They came out and made setting adjustments? okay for a few weeks? but same problem kept occurring. The went on for several months. They finally came out with the distributor/manufacturer rep to see if they could fix it and they basically set it up to regenerate water every couple of weeks. Fixed the water quality, but now I?m wasting thousands of gallons of softened water?and filling the tank with salt all the time?which is what I wanted to avoid and why I paid more for an on-demand system. All the while they promised to get this fixed or return the system. They even told me they would set back the warrantee start date until it was working properly. All hollow promises. It?s been about a year now and I still need to reset the computerized system to lessen the regeneration times. They might even be able to walk me through this on the phone, which I offered. Mid-Maryland is MIA... they haven?t answered calls or texts in months. I finally called the distributor directly, and they cannot help because they only speak to the installing plumbers, not end customers. However, the distributor was able to send me a manual which the Mid-Maryland never did, even after multiple requests. So now I either have to hire (and pay for!) another plumber to go through the whole thing to see if they can properly set up this specific water-softening system? or I have to begin fiddling with complicated computerized settings myself to see if I can do it. Not happy. At the end of the day, I would never recommend Mid-Maryland.

He was prompt and to the point. He explained what he was doing and why he was doing it. He even took the time to show my husband couple of tricks while he was fixing our kitchen sink faucet.

We lost all water pressure on a Friday mid-day and called Mid-Maryland Plumbing. Mr. Herrell was very helpful on the phone, he and my husband quickly discussed the problem, as fas as whether the problem was a switch, pressure tank or the well pump. He was very professional and efficient and asked questions so that when he came to the house he would have the right parts/equipment. Great troubleshooting/ great diagnosis. My husband even texted him a picture of the pressure switch so they could decide if it was open or not. He finished installing a hot water heater (that he was in the middle of), rented a machine to pull out the well pipe and was to the house by about 3:30! He and an assistant got right to work, pulled the pump and replaced it. He checked the wire and it didn't look like it needed to be replaced so he didn't. They put it all back together and we were back in business very quickly! I was impressed with James Herrell/Mid-Maryland Plumbing and will definately use him again either on our primary residence or on our rental property.
