I also made the error of becoming a member. The repair man who was really a salesman talked us into it, but when we bought our furnace from someone else, we discovered that we were stuck in this contract no matter what. If we would allow them to co the maintenance their service was for, our warranty would be voided. The salesman clearly knew this but gave us another story. After several hone calls, they are getting paid for nothing. would not let us out of the contract so we have been paying for a year for a service we cannot use. We have had a monthly reminder that they tricked us into getting this service. After putting a bad review online, they contacted us and said they would let us out of 17 dollars of the 204 we paid. The owner said he would not threaten us but we better take the review down. That seemed an odd thing to say. I then went online to see if there was a response to our review and it is not posted anymore. That might explain the strangely high rating this company is getting. If you want to see their real rating, I suggest you look at Yelp. They only have 1 star which sound about right to me. By the way, we found another contractor who was willing to do the same job with comparable equipment for MUCH less, so the 200 they got from us was still a lot less than they planned on getting out of us.

They lied and said they replaced it. Two months later the element rusted out and caused a flood in my basement. They never replaced it and charged me more than it would have cost to replace the entire heater. They are dishonest people.

Horrible. First scheduled appt, they left a message on my husband's cell phone 30 mins before they were to be at our home to let us know they were having a early meeting and would be there shortly, husband already left his business to come home; after an hour of waiting he had to cancel-- as a business owner, he also has a schedule to meet. We rescheduled for the following week--again after 30mins of waiting we called and were told they were in traffic! Really, have some courtesy and call the customer! We have used them for years but i think it is time to move on to another more organized company and give them a turn for some new business.

They were on time, they did what I asked them to do, which was tune up the air conditioner. They came the day they said they would come, but there was a widespread - we'll be there between 8 and 4 in the afternoon - so maybe a little bit more definite time would be better. I've been using them for a long time.

They had been out like ten days before, and the issue expanded. I paid eight hundred dollars two weeks before, did not get me anywhere with the five thousand dollar repair. Just disappointed that the inspection and work which was done within an month prior, did not capture the problem. It ended up being so expensive for that visit.

We received a phone call the day before they were supposed to be out for the estimate. They wanted to make sure some body would be at the house. Well I was and I waited for some one not to show up. There was no call or anything that something came up or anything. It now has been almost a week and I haven't heard anything. Things do happen, but at this day and age communication is every where and there is little excuse not to get in touch. I cant say anything about quality of work if no one even shows up.

5 months later the bottom element threads were so rusted that it blew out and caused over $8000 of damage. To their credit, they suggested that I replace the unit for $1200. I should have. However, I just replaced it with a high end new unit for $481.60 after an extensive and expensive clean up.

They had been out the month previous and made a fix on something with the well pump that then didn't work. If we would have been told the month before, we wouldn't have had to pay $500 the month before and we could have just replaced it then. Our interactions with them were fine. The work turned out fine. They could definitely provide estimates of expected replacement.

Our technician basically showed up, looked at our heater, assessed the situation and said he didn't know what was wrong but he could call tech support. He then added it would be $70 for 30 minutes on the phone with tech support and then he would have an answer. So I was going to pay $49.00 for him showing up to tell me he needed to call someone else for a diagnosis. I thought the technician would do the diagnosing, so I paid him just to tell me he had no idea. He then asked me to sign saying I declined his services haha. Thanks for the professionalism Larry and Sons. His lack of knowledge and level of expertise is disappointing.

Will update my comment after the work is done. Eric has been really good explaining in layman's terms what we are getting and how it will improve the air.
Description of Work: We are getting the details worked out to have an upgraded air filter system in the house. I spoke with the owner about whether we needed to have the ducts cleaned first. I love his response: "We will check and do it if needed, no reason to spend extra money." That's why I have been using them for 14 years!!!

I've had to call Larry and Sons twice over the past few months. First time because my 2 year old flushed a Matchbox car down the toilet and second because our attic AC unit had a clogged drain pipe. Both times someone called me within a couple hours of filling out the online form and both times they were at my house within 24 hours. Both service experts were extremely professional, courteous and fully explained the problem and what it would cost to fix. The most recent one was Josh Deal and he even made sure to be extra quiet while flushing the drain since our 2 year old was napping in the room below. That's service!! They have a customer for life. As an added bonus, their USA member service is great. I signed up on the spot and it even saved me money on my current visit.

One guy came out to do the estimate and he also came out to make sure the gas lines were installed correctly. He was a very nice guy. I would say they are very professional and do what they say they will do. He is coming back to install the unit a later date. I do like that they actually put foot covers on their shoes when they come in the house so they won't get anything dirty. They also sent us a flower arrangement for hiring them to do the installation.

We had a plumbing problem this evening. A combination of water from the water softener and a plugged drain in Bob's sink. Clayton was on call but coordinated with Rich who lives closer to us to get it fixed before we had water on the floor. Kudos on their team work!!!!! Many thanks to them.

Mr. Corbett was extremely responsive and sincerely wanted to change our view of his company to a more positive one. Mr. Corbett came to our home today, the 19th, sat with my husband, Robert, and they discussed all concerns. My husband felt that the truthfulness and responsiveness from Mr. Corbett was very genuine and we plan to continue our service contract with Larry and Sons for the following year. Service was excellent from start to finish. All options were thoroughly explained to us and we were offered a one-year service contract, a humidifier, and a thermostat upgrade, all free of charge. The installation crew was courteous and professional. They explained completely the operation of our new system before they left. I recommend them highly.

The workers were on time, professional, and cleaned up after completing the tasks. I am 100% satisfied with the quality of the work done - will reserve judgement for a couple of weeks on how effective the duct cleaning was. Absolutely no problem with recommending them to anyone.

Excellent, we have done business with them for 13 years and will for the rest of our lives!!!!! We will soon be installing a walk in tub for my husband. I cannot say enough good thinks about these folks - ALL of them!!!!! I trust them give great advise, they definitely know their business. Late in the evening on December 23rd, I had a sewage back up in my basement. I called the county and they came out and checked their end and said it was on my end and I would be responsible for having someone come out and run a snake through the drain. So, around 6am on December 24th, I went online to Larry & Sons website. There was an option to schedule service for that day, so I filled out the informaiton. At exactly 8:32 a.m. (caller ID) I received a call from one of their technicians. He stated they only have one person on call for the holiday and if I wasn't one of the "US Preferred" members I believe he called it, then there was no way anyone was coming out that day. He proceeded to tell me they have 1200 of these "members" and they are only on call to service them during holidays. He told me I could schedule service for Thursday. 2 days later. Ummm, really? It's Christmas Eve, I have pets and small children and I'm pretty sure this is a health hazard. Anyway, I thanked him and ended the call. It's one thing to say I have several calls and I probably can't get to you, but the fact you are sitting around waiting for these "special members" to have a problem is ridiculous. I can see them getting top priority, but this is not something that could wait 2 more days. I was very disappointed in this company. I am going to need some gas lines installed this spring to hook up a gas stove in my kitchen. Larry & Sons was my top choice. NOT ANYMORE! I will find someone else who has time for me.

In short, Rick shows up to fix the tank-less water heater. He cleans the filter. Then he tests the pressure tank for my well. Tells me it is old and needs replacing. Advises, without investigating, the pump and back-flow valve are probably as old as the tank and will need replacing as well. The cost for this is over $4000.00 includes flushing the tank-less heater and installing a valve that will allow this. Something this expense, I always get a second quote. Call H&H a pump/well company. The first thing they say is that this is a fairly new tank. Pressure is low so they use a compressor to get it up where it should be. They show me how to do this. Total cost $95 for the visit and $55 for labor. Rick is at best incompetent, at worse corrupt. Rick arranged for someone to drop by in the afternoon for air/heat estimate. For all I know the quote was reasonable. I haven't gotten additional quotes as yet so I don't know. Mo might be on the up and up, but if Larry and Sons has a guy like Rick working for them, I don't want to do business with them.

I apologize for not communicating our intent to you properly on our service visit this past week. As professionals we purpose every call to present the options for repair, replace, and upgrade of issues our customers call us for everyday. This process gives you information to make an informed decision with options you would want to have completed. Our techs are professionally trained, they wear photo ID badges for your family's protection, background checked, drug checked, cover their shoes with waterproof floor protection to keep your home clean, and wear a clean uniform. All of these items are necessary for us to better serve our customers and guarantee a great service experience from the start. One of the options given which you gave for example was a total of all options to upgrade your various systems. Another option presented was to simply complete the repair of the tankless hot water heater including the installation of a required 3-way flushing valve set necessary to complete the descaling flush of the heat exchanger correctly. Unfortunately we did not install your tankless water heater unit because all of our installations include this 3-way flushing valve set as part of our tankless water heater install. Your area water supply has aggressive and very hard water quality and with the use of a tankless water heater over time even with water treatment equipment installed it will required descaling/cleaning and flushing of the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger is a series of small tubes that carry water across the gas flames to heat the water inside the tube before it is delivered via your piping system to the faucet. Very important to know our techs are trained by our tankless manufacturers on the proper function and maintenance. I want you to be happy with your service experience and in order to demonstrate our commitment to excellence I am refunding your $49 paid on the day of the service appointment. I will also offer a no charge an on site visit by a factory representative of your tankless water heater accompanied by me to help assist in anyway I can to secure the full function options of your unit. I got estimates from two companies. Mo, from Larry and Sons, showed up on time and did a complete assessment of my existing system. He gave me several options, and explained the pros and cons of each different option as well as projected energy savings associated with each option. It makes a huge difference having someone with a true engineering background working on system design, versus a person who may be very experienced in HVAC installation by no engineering background. The installation technicians (John / Tim) showed up on time on the agreed day. The installation took exactly as long as estimated. Workmanship is first rate. John and Tim were very professional in all aspects of the installation. They explained each step of the work they were doing, and then made sure I fully understood the system operation before leaving on the final day. The new system is fantastic! We can tell a real improvement in temperatures throughout the house. They tuned each register for the right amount of air flow for that room. Adding the automatic zone heating system keeps the temperatures consistent between upstairs and downstairs. I noticed other reviewers rated Larry and Sons lower on price. I'd just comment that the automated zone system was an almost $4000 upgrade. The entire price was still less than the other company just to replace my existing AC unit with a heat pump. The other company also insisted I needed a $2500 upgrade to my electric panel before they would do the work. The electric panel upgrade was not necessary. I am VERY pleased with the price, products, quality, and professionalism.

They were prompt. I have HVAC experience and knew that the Heat Pump/AC condenser fan capacitor had gone bad. Also the fan motor seemed seized. This is a easy fix. But my wife calls me to ask if it would really cost $650 to fix it. I was floored. Spoke to the tech and he said the fan motor had failed and the capacitor was bad. I knew this. His rational on the cost was that they had blanket rates and he had no control over it. He was a good guy, knew what he was talking about, but I knew the markup was over the top. I paid the $99 flat service fee, had him put it back as it was, called around and had Shawley's do the work for $300.00 total. Same parts, same level of service. They may be good but they are over the top on cost.
