Description of Work: One day after coming home from work we noticed it was extremely hot in our house with the air on and then noticed the ceiling was sagging in our living room. We moved the sofa and I called them (as I came across their company in a search for 24 hr service) and the gentleman answered and answered all my questions, was even going to talk me through fixing this backup of our air conditioner (which is housed in our attic and 17 yrs old) but I told him I didn't feel comfortable doing that while my daughter was there and then told him I'd like to save money so he said they could come the next day but warned me that the ceiling would have to be fixed anyway but that it could fall in. Well, it did. But they fixed the A/C backup problem and installed a new part. I am trying to seek out another few months of life for this A/C unit but will definitely be calling them in the fall for a new unit. They're great.

Description of Work: HVAC technician examined the central AC and furnace to make sure it was ready for summer. The visit was as part of a yearly maintenance contract we have with Hagerstown Heating and Cooling. I don't recall how much it was for the annual contract -- I think 120.00 -- but it was about what I expected. The same technician has visited our house three times and I'm very happy with him and the company: Polite, on-time, gives honest advice (what we need to do now and what can be done later). I'm very happy with their service.

+ -1 moreMy wife and I decided to have HHC inspect and service the heat pump unit in order to determine if we needed a new unit or could we get by with the current unit for a while longer- which option made the best sense. Our unit is 15 years old. I was impressed with HHC's professionalism, knowledge and courtesy. The owner of the company is involved in all aspects of the day to day operation of the company and attends and leads all installation and was present at the first inspection in the Fall. As a result, I asked them to quote me on a price for a new unit. I would recommend to anyone to include HHC in a quote to service or replace a unit. They are thorough and knowledgeable in determining what type and size you need.
Description of Work: HHC inspected my heat pump in the Fall of 2013 and again in the Spring.

+ -1 moreI would have to say I got excellent service & response! And, the Tech was very knowledgeable! I was most impressed. Hagerstown Heating & Cooling had installed my new heat pump last summer, and this was the first service call. I didn't know what to expect, but I was quite pleased. He checked the whole unit and discovered a very small problem was the culprit. All resolved quickly.
Description of Work: I called for Service yesterday morning - my heat pump had tripped its breaker the night before. Not only did I get a call back in minutes, I had a Tech on-site in about 2 hours! WOW!

+ -1 moreI called at about 2:00 in the afternoon and John picked up the phone, listened to my issues (ON SUNDAY) John moved an appointment around and met me at the house at about 3:30. He immediatly found the issue with my 20 year old unit and fixed it right up. Heat was running ASAP. John was excellent in all aspects. I asked for a quote for a new heater and options for install. I had those in just a couple of days and I look forward to working with Hagerstown Heating in the very near future to replace my old system.
Description of Work: emergency call, when my heat went out on the coldest day of the year and on a Sunday too!

+ -1 moreThe estimate was prompt. John took the time to explain the differences in the systems. We didn't feel any pressure to buy the "top of the line" model, he explained the benefits of each and let us make the decision. He also fixed our existing system for the few weeks that it took to order the new model at no charge. The install was uneventful. The unit that was delivered had a dent. They took that back to the shop and brought a new one. The install took from 7:00 am to 5:30 am, but it was all completed in one day. The staff was great to work with. They were courteous to a fault. The service also included a free 6 month check up that was scheduled for December. Great company to work with. We will recommend them to friends.
Description of Work: Hagerstown Heating and Cooling replaced our old heating unit with a newer, more energy efficient model. They also completed work to tie an addition into the new system. This was something our last heating provider said couldn't be done.
