D and H Paving

The project was planned and executed perfectly! I asked them yesterday while they were at a neighbor's house to quote my driveway. They gave me a very fair price and showed up this morning when they said they would, the crew was great, and the work was top notch!

We hired this business to do the parking lot at our business, our personal home, and a roadway. Less than 6 months we have holes throughout the parking lot and roadways. We paid this company around $70,000 and they will not make this right. I am honestly discussed. We have spoke with the owner I'm assuming and they were supposed to make this right. They now ghost us and never came back. I have left the following note on their Facebook page, which they keep deleting as they are very aware that the work they provided was very much a scam! Hey John Carroll! We are still waiting for you to come back to Brodak's Banquet Hall to redo your work. The longer you wait, the worse it looks. You said you'd be back to make it right and never came back. If anyone would like to see the quality of work we were given, please feel free to drive through our parking lot at: 18268 Garrett Highway Oakland MD 21550 Definitely NOT ok! You deleted ever comment I left because you know your work was awful!!! All we are asking is that you fix the business parking area...not the road way or our personal house...just the business!!!

It was not good, I still see the hole in it. It was not suppose to be like that. I called them twice, they got an attitude, I talk to him very nicely and then they are threatening me. I wished, he should be honest to the customers, because they put in a very very cheap item to the driveway. I even ask them, how long will it take and they said it will take 3 years but then they said your gonna have to spend $800.00 and I said no! it doesn't make any sense to me.

No problems. They did exactly what we wanted and they did it well.

We are very happy with their work. The driveway looks amazing and we appreciate how they were able to expand it next to the road.

Very professional. Made sure none of the sealant got on the sidewalk.

On time. Finished fast and cleaned up. I had a cracked driveway at 6am and a nice blacktop at 5pm. I think they were a little expensive but i do not follow paving prices. They paved a driveway 4 tenths of a mile long.

I originally called D and H Paving. Apparently, from what I could figure out, they would not take the check for D and H Paving when they came. They said they were a different name. So it looked to me like D and H Paving sub-contracted this work out to somebody else. It ended up being somebody by the name of Henry Carroll. It cost $300. I thought it was high. The top coat is starting to wear off even now and it has not even been a year. I thought the price was higher than it should have been. My interaction with them was fine. I thought it was a little light. It could have been put on a little heavier.

Very responsive and great communication. Had called other companies also and they either didn't call back or it took a week for me to heat from them. D and H has great communication and workmanship.

Clear up-front communication what they would do. Excellent work preparation: border weeding, thoroughly blowing debris off all surfaces to be treated. Sealing all cracks very carefully and then applying oil based sealcoating generously over the blacktop. Finally, nicely cordoning off the entrance area to avoid car driving over the uncured coat accidentally. They (led by Sean Carroll) really understand what they are doing and are performing in a very professional and pleasant way! I highly recommend them!

An honest and reliable company. Professional people that I met from Paterick that was honest in telling me exactly what I needed to Shawn and his Uncle that did the sealcoating. Paterick meet me at my house at my requested time. Told me that all I needed was to sealcoat the driveway that it was in good shape and did not need a top coat of paving. Two other contractors priced me up for something I really did not need. Shawn called me at my appointment time and let me know he was running about 30 min late. He arrived just when he said he would. His uncle and Shawn explained exactly what they were going to do and were a pleasure to talk to. My 6000 sg ft driveway looks like new a great job and I will remember D&H

I think they do good work based on what I saw at other houses in the neighborhood. They came right away for an estimate. They said they would do the work mid April. We were on vacation then so I called to see how it was going. Got their voicemail. No return call. Called one week later and talked to the guy. "Something came up" etc. Said they would do it mid May. Didn't come. I called again and had to leave a voicemail. Called a week later. Same story about other work. Said they would come mid June. Didn't come. I called and left a message requesting a firm, no kidding date for the work. No response. I think they have larger commercial jobs and can't always find the time for small residential ones. If that is true, they shouldn't promise to do the job in the first place. Nice guy, good price, poor communication with us and didn't do the job at all.

I spoke to D&H Paving more than a month ago and got a quote to replace our driveway. Since that time, I have called them two or three times to see when they would be coming to do the work. Every time I spoke with them, they said "next week". They said they have a whole lot of work to do and would get to me when they could. I feel that I was given a quote and a promise to come do the work and they should have done that before they scheduled more work. I called them the week before last and told them that if it wasn't done this past week, I was going with someone else. Again, I was promised "next week", which never happened. Unfortunately, I feel like my business isn't important enough to them. I am now searching for someone else to do the work.

Appears to be an excellent and professional job. Top notch workmanship and diligent clean-up. Danny was flexible (and prompt) with scheduled date; team was punctual on arrival and departure - right on schedule. Danny was present the entire time. I highly recommend D & H Paving.

They arrived onetime and completed all of the work in one day.

I felt that they were punctual. They were doing one of my neighbors and I had ask them to give me a quote so I have 11 thousand square foot. of drive way so I took their price, they did it one day and they did a good job.

Nice guys and job was done corectly.

We have a severely graded driveway so expected a cost estimate to come in higher, which was awesome. The day of the job, the crew showed up about 20 minutes earlier than the foreman (or whoever was in and quot;chargeand quot;) so that created a bit of an issue as 4 men stood around our lawn and a truck sat in the center of our street until the correct person arrived. In addition, the crew was a bit unconcerned with the landscaping when they drove their vehicles around the yard (some of that was expected given the work; however, I think they could have been a little more polished) and ran into our neighbors tree a few times. That said, they were quick (once started), not as expensive as we thought, and generally nice guys all around. We would certainly use them again.

My original driveway was approximately 15 yrs old and was starting to fail in several spots (depressions near garage door and alligatoring near edges). Dand H did an excellent job evaluating the condition of my driveway and explaining the process to me. They provided an estimate and were able to start work the next day. They worked independently and did not require that I be present to perform any work. This was ideal because I was not able to take time off from work to supervise contractors. I obtained three estimates. Dand H was already in the area finishing another job which contributed to an extremely competitive price quote. Regardless, Dand H's pricing was very competitive. John Carroll was extremely polite, and his crew left the job site incredibly clean and neat. I have seen Dand H perform several excellent paving jobs in my nearby neighborhood which significantly influenced my decision. I will be calling Dand H next summer to seal my driveway.

They did an excellent job of filling cracks, edging borders and applying a thick coat of high grade sealant.

The business owner dropped by to offer an estimate because they were doing another drive down the road. He offered a good price and I checked them out with BBB and Angies list, both with good reviews.I was very concerned about getting a consistent thickness of blacktop. They showed up and removed crumbling pavement at apron of driveway, moved all the gravel around and did a very professional job. I could tell the crew knew what they were doing and were done in good time. I know it took more blacktop than they had estimated but kept to the price. A very good experience and they took the extra time to be neat, clean, and do the fine touches. A good family owned outfit with a good crew.

John came out to give us an estimate, unlike others, he marked off what the driveway would look like and gave us an on-the-spot price that was $11,000.00 less than the other two estimators who came out. He said they could do the job in a week or two at that price. We signed the contract and the work was complete about a week later. D and H brought in a crew that completed the job in one morning. The driveway looks great, the crew were pleasant and friendly. Clean-up was impeccable! John stopped by a several times to make sure that everything was perfect. We are extremely pleased with the process from start to finish. D and H came highly recommended from a friend of ours and we highly recommend the company to everyone on Angie's List.
