Description of Work: I hired AT&T to convert some garden areas into lawn and to trim some hedges. They suggested mulching the remaining garden areas, and I agreed to that. They were extremely prompt and responsive, and I really appreciated that. (Of three or four companies I signed up with at the Garden Show, they were the only one to contact me afterward, and they contacted me right away and came out very promptly to give me an estimate.) | |On the day that they came to do the work, we talked about it and they started working, and after a while I glanced outside and saw that they were tilling the remaining garden beds. Whoa! This had not been agreed on. (I'd heard the power tools but thought it was the hedge trimmers.) I ran out and stopped them, but it was too late. Though they claimed they had tilled around my plants, I lost a number of perennials that they didn't see, and I also lost a lot of metal plant labels that were in the ground. For me these losses were not catastrophic, but for another gardener they could be. | |In addition, I'm not very impressed with the seeded lawn they did. The grass is kind of patchy and a lot of the pre-existing plants (weeds and even some perennials) are still there. I'm not super-picky about lawns, so this not-so-great lawn works okay for me, but people with higher standards would not be okay with it. | |The hedge was trimmed very nicely. They cleaned up well afterwards too. The mulching was done neatly with black mulch.

I do think they are little on the more expensive range but did a good job. I found them through an ad on paper. I was happy with them except for one thing; one of their guy did what I told him not to do.

+ 0 moreI called the company to do some minor landscaping work, The Lady I talked to was pleasant enough and told me that the person for my area was not in and she would have him call me. 2 days went by without hearing anything at all so I called and talked to the same lady who was surprised that I had not heard from the salesman. ABout an hour later the salesman called and was not in a good mood. He asked what I had to do and I told him and HE decided to come out the following monday morning. I told him that did not work for me that he could come any time after 12 noon any day but he was set on coming out Monday morning weather i wanted it or was here. I finally did agree to let him come when I was not here but as I thought about it decided to call the company back and cancel them, There are things here I want done and need to show him. He was rude and just did not seem to want the job I had. If this is the way they run the company I feel sorry for people that do end up dealing with them.
Description of Work: want front yard smoothed and reseeded with grass. The yard had been torn up having a septic system put in.

+ -1 moreI had to have a large tree trimmed in my fenced in back yard that overhangs my house and my neighbor's. Antietam provided a quotation with no hassles, and showed up on time when I scheduled the work. Because of limited access due to my fence, they had to climb to tree to do the trimming (no bucket truck access), and it took several hours - hence the cost. The two man crew arrived with a chipper and cleaned all debris as they worked. I was billed promptly, and for the amount quoted. The work was very professional, and I will definitely use them next time the tree needs trimming. I consider the cost to be a bit high, largely because I only paid $300 to a different company a couple years prior for the same job. That was before my fence was installed, and they were able to use their bucket truck. The previous company wouldn't even provide a quotation after I had the fence installed, which is why I went with Antietam the second time. Since cost is subjective, the point is really that Antietam was willing and able to do the work that other companies wouldn't consider.
Description of Work: Prune large maple tree back on all sides and away from 2 houses, thin foliage, and remove debris.

+ -1 moreI used this company for two years because initially someone had recommended them on the basis that they saw their trucks in the area "alot" and I could not find anyone who knew of a good company. At first they appeared to be competent, and showed up for the first treatment on time. There were to be two treatments each year to keep the problems at bay. The second treatment appointment was missed and instead of the knowledgeable technician there were two men who I did not have much confidence in. The next year they showed up very late for the first treatment and very early for the last one so that I felt the treatments were not that effective. In frustration I contacted the local state cooperative office and the local Southern States store and I found I can handle this myself and save a bundle and know I can have the treatments done as I need them.
Description of Work: I have a weeping cherry that was weeping sap in the trunk and losing leaves and two evergreens with spider mites.

+ -1 moreYou get what you pay for, they are excellent. I highly recommend them. Remember that you are buying their time, I recommend booking them for a full day and you'll be amazed at how much they get done. We had a huge storm and it blocked in my homebound inlaws, we called them and they were out within 2 hours to clear the debris. We have tried several other companies and nobody else comes close. They do what they say they will do and they leave it clean when they are done.
Description of Work: We have used them on several jobs, big and small. They have trimmed trees as well as removed trees.
