I've worked with many contractors but none can compare to Smithwright. Professional, friendly, and highly communicative, I am recommending him to everyone I know. I am so pleased with the work that was done, I'm going to hire him again for future projects.

Bill did a range of interior and exterior work for us (doors, trim, tiling, lighting, etc). He had excellent attention to detail and his work is high quality. Communication was great throughout. I would hire him again.

Bill Smith recently completed drywall work, painting, electrical, and fencing work for me. Bill's pricing is excellent compared to other handymen and contract companies. Bill is punctual and polite. He has worked on multiple projects for me over the years and has done an excellent job on each of them. Highly recommend!

Great! We had a list of repairs that built-up over the years and Bill did a thorough, beautiful job of attending to everything. He's meticulous with his work and was a pleasure to work with. Bill explained the nature of the repairs needed and answered all our questions. It's a relief to have these repairs made -- we are in better shape than when the work was first done (by someone else.)

Bill did an excellent job. Will definitely hire Bill again. We had 4 different projects that we needed help with an Bill did them all and did them well. Bill helped us with kitchen counter caulking, needed carpentry to replace rotting wood around the front door, cleaning out and reworking the dryer vent piping plus repaired the back fence gate that was a problem getting stuck for years. Bill was a pleasure to work with and even scheduled the project to suite our availability. As I said we will definitely hire bill again.

Bill did a great job on a variety of jobs (painted all interior doors, replaced the door knobs, painted a bedroom, replaced an exterior door, replaced rotting wood outside the garage, installed smoke detectors, unclogged a bathroom sink and stopped a leaky bath faucet). He provided me with constant updates and was a pleasure to work with.

Bill is friendly, positive, and a pleasure to work with. He takes real pride in the quality of his work. He's a clear communicator, both in person and via email, and I think he charges reasonable prices. I'll continue to call on him until the day he retires or moves away.

He responded to my quote request quickly, came out a few days later to give the quote, and did the work a few days after that. He was friendly, competent, and safe (including wearing a mask since we are in COVID times). I had no problems.

Excellent! Bill was super detail oriented and communicated with us on every decision about the project, even down to the color of the screws to use so they’d blend in with the step boards. It was extremely hot and Bill worked tirelessly to get our project finished and didn’t complain once. We highly recommend Bill for any handyman project you have and we’ll definitely use him again when we have the need!

Bill was WONDERFUL! Bill did not take the easy way out, which would have been to reinstall the shelving units using longer anchors and nails. Bill went to our local Lowe’s purchased wood to be installed it as a brace to which he attached the shelving for additional support. Bill Smith did a fine job replacing the lattice under a deck with white vinyl lattice, including building two gates to get to under deck storage, painting the handrails, and repairing and painting the metal handrails on the front porch. He even reattached a fallen shingle on the roof without charge. He was meticulous, professional, and courteous. Good communication via email. Will hire again.

The quality of the work was excellent! The lanterns were over 26 years old, but Bill's persistence and knowledge of his craft enabled him to overcome some obstacles and successfully complete the task. The weather went from Spring like to cold Fall weather. This made the repair of the concrete porch more challenging. Again, Bill persevered over a period of a few days to bring this part of the project to a successful conclusion. I fully intend to secure Bill's services in the near future to do more work at my home.

Amazing craftsmanship and quality work. I highly recommend Bill for any of your handyman needs. We we're selling our house and needed him to touch-up some items and he knocked it out of the park for a very reasonable price. Bill was always on time and was very trustworthy. Smithwright has contacted me and will be calling me on Monday, May 27 to let me know when he might be able to start. We have gone back and forth via email so that he understand what is needed. As stated, he called Monday and asked if I was available the next day at 9am to have the maintenance performed which was perfect. He called Tuesday morning before 9 to inform me he was running a bit late and would be there between 9:30 and 10. He arrived as promised. We discussed the maintenance to be perfomed including what I was interested in and he evaluated the door and issues and recommended the weatherstripping but stated the sweep was still in decent shape, so I agreed to only the weather stripping. He went to the local Lowes to pick up the necessary materials and returned in reasonable time and began. It took a little over an hour. I reviewed the work and it appeared to be a good job. Bill asked if I had considered a storm door which I stated I had recently. He stated he usually charges for a minimum of two hours but gave me a discount which was appreciated. The entire job cost $193 (including materials). Considering the cost, job quality, and customer service; I would definitely hire Smithwright again for any handyman type work.

Asked for a quote in Jan 2019, thru Angie's List email, for work identified. Never got a response.

Bill was responsive to what I needed, was communicative in terms of keeping me updated over a period of multiple weeks regarding his timing, work that was planned and done, and did a great job with the quality of work. I'd gladly hire him again for services if needed.

To start, this was the third handyman I tried to get. The first two basically did not respond after multiple attempts. Reviewing Bill's website, he stated that email would be the best method to contact him. I appreciated that. He responded the evening I sent the first email. He asked for additional information to help determine the extent. This save both him and me from having to waste time meeting at my house. I provided pictures of the situation as well as pictures of other houses in the neighborhood with similar situations. He kept me informed of his schedule during the next couple of days. The only difficulty was when he informed me the day before that he would be coming the next morning. It caused me to have to ask for time off from work on short notice and I didn't have time to square it with my next door neighbor as I live in a townhouse and the problem demanded placing the ladder on their driveway.. He arrived at the time specified, reviewed the actual situation, made a plan after a discussion, and bought the necessary materials. Other than volunteering to help with hold the ladder, Bill knew what he was doing and patched the gap to my satisfaction. The entire process took about two hours, which was less than his estimated time.
