Agape Plumbing

I own property on Capitol Hill but now live in Ga and currently have tenants at the property. The reason for my review is to warn others about a local (Maryland) plumber I have used at my property. The name of the company if Agape Plumbing. The owner's name is Michael McNicholas. I have been using Michael's company for the past 3-4 yrs and I believed I had found someone trustworthy and reliable however, this could be further from the truth. I have a 3 level townhome with 2 water heaters- if you are not interested in all the details (outlined below) the bottom line is I ended up purchasing 3 water heaters ($1400-$1500 each) within 2 years! I would Not Trust or recommend Agape Plumbing! In Jan 2020 my downstairs water heater went out so I naturally had it replaced. Then in Aug 2020 the upstairs unit went out which also needed to be replaced. Both units would have been about 15-20 yrs old which is a pretty good life for a water heaters. Now here is the bad news, this past Jan- my tenants called saying the pilot light on the upstairs water heater would not stay lite. So I called Agape Plumbing. Michael informed me the upstairs water heater was old and need to be replaced. Keep in mind when I received the call from Michael I'm in Ga and trusting his evaluation of the situation. I also didn't remember I had already purchased 2 units in 2020. I knew I had replaced one but was not 100% sure about 2. So I said to him, I think I recently replaced that unit - he said no that was the downstairs unit. I said are you sure? He said yes, he would have remembered working in this tight area if he had replaced it before. So I trusted him! Big mistake, to the tune of $1500. I didn't realize my mistake until I sat down to to my taxes a month later- it was at that time I realized I was correct in my original thought. I immediately called Michael and kindly asked him to make the situation right and that I had my tax documents that showed how many water heaters I had purchased. Well, as you can imagine after many calls and text I did not hear back. I was very frustrated and disappointed as I thought I had a good working relationship with him. Again, Bottom line-I would not trust or recommend Agape Plumbing owned by Michael McNicholas based out of Maryland.
