We had our woodstove cleaned today. We were very pleased with the young gentleman, Justin Moss. He was very polite, friendly and did a very thorough and very neat job.

Service was prompt, efficient and friendly. Excellent report on what did and didn’t have to be done. Hire with confidence

The guys doing the work were always on time and were very professional. They did a wonderful job and the wall turned out beautifully. It will be a great backdrop for our woodstove. We definitely recommend this company if you need any fireplace, chimney or stone work done around your home or business.

Professional and thorough. Took us a while to get it scheduled, but it was the busy time of year and we were at the far end of their territory. Serviceman did the job in a quick and efficient manner and answered all my questions in a knowledgeable way.

When we bought our home part of the agreement with our home owner insurance company was that we had 30 days to remove the wood stove insert in our fireplace. We contacted Curtis Chimney and Hearth and explained our problem and we wanted to have a gas insert installed. They were very understanding and even with their busy schedule they made the time to remove the wood stove insert within that 30 day time frame. They were very knowledgable and helpful in picking out our gas insert. The day of installation we found that the manufacturer of the gas insert sent the wrong screen then the one we designed. They were quickly on the phone getting the issue resolved. The day that the correct screen came in we were not available but we had someone else at the house to give them access and they were able to apply the correct screen. They even stayed for a couple hours with the fireplace burning to assist us in burning off the residue that must be done with all new gas fireplace inserts. As messy as chimney sweep and all that type of work is they were always sure to place their trap down and clean everything up behind themselves. They explained everything to us and I know that if we have any questions or concerns they are only a phone call away.

Arrived on time - very friendly and knowledgeable. Did an excellent job cleaning the fireplace and in answering all of my questions. Will have them back again next year!

These folks know their business and are professional in every sense. I have used their services for several years now and they are, frankly, the best.

Joel was very responsive and professional in my correspondence with him about the project. His crew, Aaron and Wayne, made the suggestion to reduce the cost of the job by reducing the height of the chimney to the height required by the building code, which reduced the cost of the job to me by over $300. They took care of all the permitting, and did an excellent job at a challenging location--a very steep roof on top of a three-story house. I was very pleased with Curtis Chimney & Hearth, and would highly recommend them.

Mr. Curtis came in person and inspected my chimney. He found it to be as it should. What we heard that fell in the chimney had been ampilified by the new liner that had been put in. I apologize for my previous review. I realy did not have the information I needed. should have called Mr. Curtis a second time when he did not return my call. He was very professional and did not mention my review, or that I could have made a follow up call.

This story actually begins about 5 years ago. I lived in a different house then. I needed a chimney liner installed since the house I purchased did not have one. Curtis' did a great job then and when it came time to purchase a furnace, I had to look no further. Of course we did check some prices at Lowes etc but when it comes to service and friendliness there is no comparison. Not to mention they have been doing this for almost 30yrs! Initially a representative visited my house because the owner was out of town, however Mr. Curtis himself came by and discussed a lot of options with my wife and I. He explained everything in detail. He even suggested to not bother with a blower installation as the free standing furnaces typically don't need one. He could have recommended added cost however he did not. After all my wife and I know nothing about furnaces.(we do now though). After some deliberation we chose the Regency UL39. Its awesome and quite attractive. Modern and manly, which is good for a man cave :) Curtis' men, one in particular, worked literally all day. So the cost to install is definitely worth it. Had I done it myself (some people claim they could) it would have taken me a month probably. I am quite serious. Chances are it wouldn't have worked at all if i did it. Nonetheless once installed it was beautiful! My wife loves it! The people from the propane company did not come the same day. So weeks later they did, and once again Mr. Curtis himself came to make sure all was well. He touched up some scratches in the paint and now you cant even tell. He is very meticulous and cares about the work his company does. He even helped out with the tank installation. It would have been crooked had he not spoken to the propane installer. He wanted EVERYTHING to look just perfect! And that is what my wife and I wanted as well, and we got it. He showed me how to operate the furnace and made sure I was good before even thinking of leaving. I would recommend Curtis' Chimney to ANYONE! The world needs more businesses like Curtis', it would be a much better off. My final thoughts: God Bless Mr. Curtis and his entire staff and family! Thank you!

Curtis Chimney & Hearth have reasonable prices. I had a fine experience with them. There were no problems with it. It went well. The work was fine.

Overall everything was fine. The original time frame was 2 days, however on the second day they were supposed to come, there was bad accident on the Interstate which prevented them from making it from MD to WV, so they have to come a day later. Overall I am pleased with the end result, if I only had one thing to say was I was under the impression that it would have been a smoother finish and look more like a stucco finish, vs what it looks like now.

In the course of the 8 years we have owned this house, I have called Curtis on average of once every 2 years. Joel Curtis has always responded in a timely fashion and with reasonable prices. He has called with approximate times and days they could respond to my house and given me options in their service. On one occasion when I had a leak in close proximity to the chimney, a faulty plywood sheathing panel was found to be at fault. However, Curtis Chimney and Hearth screwed the offending panel down and made an appropriate repair - which had nothing to do with the chimney. This is above and beyond the call of service, in my opinion.
