They were on time, had plenty of workers, professional workmanship and timely. They cleaned up very well after themselves and the refinishing of the floors made them look like a showcase. The company's pricing was on the high side but fair for the comps around town and the amount of work. I would definitely use them again if I needed.

This was a crew of two who managed to match the two rooms with the flooring in the hallway, all the wood looks like it was all done at the same time. When they finished they left everything spotless.

Start-to-finish, the job started out great, and declined rapidly when we learned the estimator left off key components to the main-level finishing (steps & risers: two steps up from entry into living area; and, one step-up into the dining area of our townhome). Here (day two of 5.2 days) we learned the crew didn t speak directly to the company management about job issues (that was our problem to communicate and negotiate); company management was defensive and adversarial about the estimators oversights; the crew spoke almost no English; the company would never have anyone step on-site to inspect the work or situation: overall, the experience to correct the company s oversight of what materials were required to finish the job was highly painful, lacked any communication initiative. Shortest description of the job is there was very good workmanship to what was done; but materials were lacking for the two living area step-ups on the main-level, with resulting appearance to be that these room-length risers look cheeping: the plywood stained risers do not match the flooring and stairs. I included three before/after pictures to show the spaces I am referring to. I was VERY surprised to experience NO company involvement on-site to reconcile the situation of what it would take to Elegantly complete the job. The two person crew worked only 6 hour days (max), and would not act as a company representative on-site to reconcile the obvious materials missing from their work order vs. the job at hand (they saw the issue, and told us we had to negotiate with the company what to do). Price was NEVER an issue: our desire was to have high quality wood flooring installed to replace carpeting; to which we saved multiple years in anticipation. Bottom-line is I can NOT use this company again due to the poor managing of the job; though the workmanship of what was installed is very good. The company s hands-off system to the job site means that if the estimator/orderer screws up, you are screwed for the end product (since cheap substitute materials ie. plywood, will be used as substitute filler).

We had an excellent experience. Dust was not too bad. The men arrived on time and worked into the evening 4 days in a row. They replaced boards on both floors and you cannot tell. They took time with me to pick out the right stain. They replaced all of the baseboards and even painted them. They worked on many squeaks... some were diminished and some are still squeaking, but the floors look beautiful and our friends even used them from our referral.

They came out on time and were very knowledgeable. They were very responsive with the quote that came to me the next day. Their prices are very reasonable.

They did a very good job. We have had this done before in the last few years because of water problems, and this company did the best job by far. They did a great job of matching with precision. They would ask for my advice and input at every stage. If I need flooring in the future, I would use this company.

It went very well overall. They did a fine job and I was very happy. They were on time and very respectful of my home. I thought the price was reasonable.

Fine. Estimator was on time and professional. Estimate came in a bit higher than 2 others, so we decided to go with another company, but we would call them again.

My experience with the was good. They gave us a discount for finding them through Angie's List. We were pleased with their service. I would recommend them and use them again.

The Elegant crew was highly professional. The address they were given had a typo in it, so, initially, they could not find my house the first morning they were to arrive. Someone from their office called me to get the address straight and the crew arrived shortly thereafter. Although I had emptied my china cabinet and other large pieces of their contents, the furniture is big and heavy. Elegant's crew (four men) carefully lifted and moved these pieces (extra charge to have them move furniture). They had to move furniture from one side of the house and work on the floors on that side and then move it and the furniture from the other rooms back to finish the other side of the house. They were very careful. They started on a Monday and put everything back in place on the Friday morning of that same week. Everything was as scheduled and went smoothly.

Company was professional in every way, e.g., communication of details, pricing; excellent work, careful, friendly technicians. Representatives timely arrived, began and finished job with excellent results.

Contacted company and had a prompt estimate set within a week. Estimates were emailed within 2 days and the work took approximately 3 days, but there was about a 1-2 week wait between day 2 and day 3. Overall the floors are beautiful. There are two minor areas that are still incomplete. Aside from running out of material, not 100% completing the job, I am still happy with the results.

The staff was very professional and worked to resolve any questions or issues I had. They started the job as scheduled and completed all work with in a reasonable period of time, approximately 2 to 3 weeks. It was a very large job and the results are beautiful. I am very pleased with all of the floors.

We visited lumber liquidators and found some wood we really liked. An installer was at the store and offered to provide us a quote. In addition, I checked Angie's List and selected Elegant as a second quote. Elegant came in about $1000 higher. I preferred to go with a company listed on Angie's List and Elegant did a good job providing me with a revised quote close to the other installer. Elegant did a good job communicating the challenges of the job, they provide a prompt quote and scheduled the job as soon as I provided the deposit. They even picked up the wood from lumber liquidators. The installers showed up on time every day! They were very courteous and clean. They put plastic sheeting everywhere to minimize dust and kept the job site spotless. We had some tricky transitions from the wood floor to slate tile. The head installer worked wonders on the transitions. The job was completed in an astounding two days. The floor looks terrific.

I would just have to say that I like the service, the company is very helpful. They do a great job on their work, although, I was slightly disappointed that they didn't call afterwards to see if everything was alright. Other than that they were very helpful and did a very good job.

The estimator was spot on in terms of the amount of time to complete the work, as well as the fixes needed. Elegant professionally repaired the many holes and missing board in a way that concealed their very existence. The price was also very competitive, especially considering the amount of time the workmen took to match wood species and patch missing boards and holes. The work was truly impeccable.

I called and scheduled an appointment for an estimate. Cliff Small was on time for the appointment, professional and knowledgeable. I had to reschedule the work once, but after I scheduled the new date, there was some confusion between Cliff and Steve (owner) over the new date and the scope of work, resulting in a few phone calls to me. The crew was a no-show on the new scheduled date, so I called and was told that they were short a crew chief. Steve gave me a new date and again the crew didn't show on that date so I requested a discount for having to reschedule. The crew finally arrived on time on the 3rd try and did an excellent job. They cleaned up after themselves and didn't charge for the larger quarter-round I needed. They also prepared a small area of the floor to show me what the new finish would look like in advance. Because I was so happy with their work quality and the value, I will likely use them again, even if I run into scheduling issues.

Called them in December and the work was finished a week later. The gave me a quick quote, then subtracted a slow time discount and then a senior citizen discount. The crew came within an hour of the scheduled start time and was completed that day. When I discovered that they had installed the wrong toe mold they sent a crew to correct the problem immediately and moved the furniture back in to compensate for the inconvenience. I'd hire them again.

We interviewed several companies on Angie's List. They seemed to have the best overall package and the best price. It included dustless service (which I strongly encourage anyone use). They were very professional, showed up on time, did a great job and finished on time. The floors are gorgeous! They worked hard to protect the items in our house which would be impacted by the sanding. They hung plastic to protect all of the cabinets, counters, computers, paintings on the walls and chandeliers. We had to leave the house for the two days of staining the floors (the entire first floor). They called us at the end of each day to give us updates. The oft used floors were sanded and stained and the rooms which did not have much traffic and needed much less received a screen and recoat which saved us some money. The experience was great.

I/we booked this about 7 weeks out since I have other construction projects going on before and after. Elegant fit us in without a problem. They could have done the job sooner, but I didn't need the job done until a specific date. The job took 3 days as projected and the results were amazing. The first day was sanding. The second day was the cleaning and putting on the finish for the majority of the rooms and the third day was the stairs. I followed their directions to a tee, but have additional suggestions as well. First, turn off your AC and let the workers work in the heat. The dust went into my AC and I had to change the filter a few times. No biggie. Second, plan on cleaning EVERY SURFACE with a Swiffer. Ceilings, walls, windows, glass. Before you do this job, take it upon yourself to move EVERYTHING out of the space that is being refinished. They will do it for you, however it is always better to be careful with your own furniture. Remove your baseboard and replace it after you have the floors done. You have to wait a week to 10 days before tape can be put on the floor (curing) (or it will pull off the varnish) to paint, but it is worth it. Have a contractor do that for you. This is also a wonderful time to send items to the Salvation Army, clear out old trash and shred. Keep it Green!

I recently purchased a 1BR-1DEN condo in the Ballston area of Arlington VA. Both the bedroom and den has 'commercial' type carpet that needed replacing. I decided that I wanted to match the hardwood from the living/dining room in the den. I called Elegant Flooring as well as two other companies in the local area for estimates. I called Elegant during the first week in June and scheduled a weekend appointment for the following week. I met Cliff (part owner of the company) who came to my condo for the appointment (Saturday) to take measurements. He was extremely professional and offered some useful advice about how to protect the existing hardwood in the condo. Cliff explained that the job would be completed in one day, and that his staff could 'tooth in' (i.e. blend in) the hardwood from the dining room to the den to give it a bit nicer look. On Monday (the next business day), I promptly received an estimate outlining the work. About two weeks later, I scheduled the installation. The installers were scheduled to arrive at 9am but arrived around 10. (I couldn't really blame them, the Beltway is a killer and they were coming into VA from MD). Shortly after they arrived, I showed them the area, and they got right to work. The lead installer explained it would take just over a day (vice what I thought would only be one). I asked about the 'tooth-in' process - but he seemed confused. He explained the process is difficult with the glue that was used (from the old floor) but that they'd do what they could. I was a bit nervous at first (first big homeowner project) but I returned home that evening and everything looked great. The next day, the same two workers came back, installed the shoe molding, inspected their work, cleaned up and departed in less than an hour. Overall, I think it was a great experience. Comparing the two other estimates from two other flooring companies, Elegant had the lowest bid (by a couple hundred dollars). Cliff (part owner/estimator) was very professional and offered sound professional advice. Additionally, he honored the Angie's List discount that he had agreed to via our phone conversation (the original estimate didn't reflect the discount). The two installers were very professional, courteous, and good workers. They made the extra effort to come back on the second day to ensure everything was in order, clean, and to make sure that I was pleased with the installation. I was. I would strongly recommend this company again for their excellent work, great price and value!

Great company to deal with. We received estimates from Cliff and the crew arrived promptly each morning and worked straight through until the job was finished. The floors they refinished had water stains and were buried under carpeting and padding for well over 20 years and now they look fantastic. Francisco and the crew did a fabulous job and were very patient answering our questions and concerns. The new red oak flooring looks incredible and they did an amazing job creating transition pieces that flow from the rooms where the new flooring was installed. Steve, the owner was very fair with us and resolved a couple minor issues promptly. All in all a very good professional company to deal with. No hesitation recommending this company to friends or relatives.

We are looking at having three bedrooms, a hallway, and living room done. They were very quick to respond. They were prompt on arriving. They emailed me within twenty four hours with the estimate.

Elegant Flooring came recommended through Angie's list. Cliff Small came out to explain the type of flooring they could install. He showed me a piece of paper showing small samples of the flooring stains. Cliff said he would be dropping off the samples before the floor was stained so I could live with them for a few days. The workmen came the following week to rip up my current floor. I had to go to work, so I let them begin. When I came back to check during my lunch break, I saw they had found original hardwood under the linoleum and were in the middle of ripping that out. If only they had called me. If only they had notified their boss. If only someone overseeing these men had stopped by. I would have kept the original flooring and asked them to repair and stain it. Whatever. I let that go. Then, after 2-3 days of hard work, these men called me at work to say they were going to stain the floor. I was surprised. I hadn't been given any samples like Cliff promised. I dashed home and had a few minutes to pick out a floor stain. In the end I didn't like the stain once it was down. I called Cliff Small and asked what could be done. He told me to wait 3 months and then see. In the meantime, I still owed them $500. So I was waiting 3 months to finish payments. Then Elegant Floors called me and told me I was delinquent. Alrighty. I guess I misunderstood. I asked if once I paid the $500, I would get a dark stain laid over the current stain. Cliff agreed. Now it has been a month or so, since I paid the balance and I haven't heard a thing from the company. Not even a postcard.
