About us

At Window Nation, we know replacement windows. We’re third-generation window replacement experts who have been lucky to provide homeowners replacement windows, siding, and doors for over fifteen years. We opened our first showroom in Maryland in 2006, quickly growing to serve homeowners in cities across the country – and we’re not stopping there. We’re grateful for every homeowner who has trusted us to upgrade their most important asset: their home. We’ve learned a lot about home improvement over the years, but the most important thing we learned isn’t about window replacement. We learned the home improvement industry isn’t about offering the best windows, siding and doors; it’s about the relationships we build with our customers.

The sales rep was very nice, but gave a heck of a sales pitch. He told my 88 year old mother-in-law that the sale ended that day and had to have a signed contract in order to give her the sales special price. He originally quoted her $13,000 but lowered it to $8851 plus a free 2 person trip. My husband told him that she was tired and a decision was not going to be made that day. When we entered the room again, she gave him a check for $2921 which we were very unhappy about. My sister-in-law called the owner the next day advising unhappy of sales pressure he put upon her 88 year old mother and verbally canceled the contract. Mike called the next morning trying to talk her into not canceling and then spoke with me. I was told that he was charging her a 20% restocking fee because he ordered the parts while here. I reminded him that the contract stated she had till 5/2/2013 to cancel and today was 5/2. I then immediately faxed a copy of the contract signed my her to cancel the order. I was told by Mike that he would mail the check back her. As of today, 5/9, the check has not been received. However, I put a stop payment on the check on 5/2/2013.

Estimator was extremely knowledgeable about product and had great presentation. Explained in detail what I had and what I would be getting. SB70 glass is awesome, even has a bit of greenish tint which I wasn't expecting, but love. The installers hauled off all of the old windows and door and did an exceptional job of cleaning up after themselves. Great experience from start to finish

The Window Nation agent, Mike, was professional to start. He called us 10 minutes prior to the appointment time to apologize for traffic on I-95, and then showed up 5 minutes late. He made an attempt at word association to remember my name, however he still failed. He took measurements as we went through the house, and made small talk while we went. He told me he had lived in my hometown, but got all the details wrong. He never started talking about the quality of the windows until we started negotiating price, then it was all about the quality, the kevlar, the installation crew, etc. The majority of the windows were on the second floor, yet the first floor estimate was 2/3 of the total ($20K out of $30). Continually badmouthed the competition. Would not take the hint that he was irritating me. Stayed an hour past the time necessary to deliver a quote. Didn't actually leave us with a quote or with any pertinent data about the windows. Ignored our request for a quote on a new entry door. Shall I go on?
Description of Work: The Window Nation rep who came to our house was prompt and courteous, however he repeatedly got my name wrong, made assumptions about our first-time home buyer status (we've owned 5 houses between us), and then started a high-pressure sales & discounting procedure that reminded me oh so much of a standard-issue sleazy timeshare sales agent. Kevlar-enhanced window frames do not prevent a kid with a rock from breaking in. And neither will the cheap lock that's mounted on the surface of these frames. Discounts that are good until the door closes will ensure I close the door. Lower the price to what you really want to sell the windows for, get past the sleazy sales tactics, and try again. Perhaps you'll have more actual purchases.

Window Nation is an excellent company. Their products are top-of-the-line and the warrantee is outstanding. During the initial sales pitch, I was smitten but my partner wasn't. She wanted to get another few estimates. She also thought the sales presentation was wayyyyyy too long (which it was, but he provided a lot of information ... I feel like I could sell windows now). I went ahead and signed a contract and initially regretted it. We got our neighborhood window company to come over and give us an estimate ($3K less) and there was no comparison in sales pitch or in product. Their windows were of similar quality, but the flashing, caulking, insulation, warrantee, and other information didn't seem to match Window Nation's quality. I added up all the pros and cons and decided to stay with Window Nation. I'm very glad I did. The windows are remarkable! The installers were tidy, punctual, and thorough. The salesman even came over the day they were installed to check on things. There was a flaw in one of the screens which they replaced immediately. There was an issue with the type of window I needed for my kitchen which they were going to switch out at no additional cost. I got follow-up caulking repair (because it always shrinks a little) and feel confident that if anything goes wrong, I can call them and it will be taken care of. This whole process was well worth the investment.

It went very well. I will upload the before and after picks, but the new windows changes the house. The old windows were leaking and the previous owner had replaced some window panes with plexiglass so we needed to replace the windows before winter. We interviewed two window companies and thought Window Nation was the best. We got a great deal on the price and the windows are amazing. The window install took 1 day and they came back the next to finish the outside work. The only issue was the supplier forgot to provide the privacy glass for the bathroom window, but they apologized and the replacement glass came in 4 days later. No problem.

HIGH PRESSURE SALES TACTICS: unsure if they tried to play bad cop/good cop or if i genuinely got a very oily sales rep at my home and company management tried to make it better -- either way, was left with a bad feeling and a general unwillingness to work with the company. 1) first alarm: when making appointment, phone rep told me that "all people must be present" as they cannot come out more than once, even when telling them that i was the sole decision maker. 2) salesman was the 4th pitch i heard, and only had one sample window to show us. presented us with a lot of useless information, plus laid ground work to indicate that replacement windows average cost was over $700 per window. window sample seemed to be of mediocre quality -- didn't instill confidence. 3) salesman went into pricing -- finally -- and said that normal "full" price for this window job would be $35,000 -- but if i was willing to sign a contract today, he'd do it for $21,000 (or similar) -- we said no, that it was out of our budget. he excused himself to "call the office" to see if he could offer us a better deal -- and came back with $13.8k, would we sign today for that price, and we'd need to have their sign in our yard for a month. and we needed to DECIDE RIGHT NOW, that this offer wouldn't be available the next day, etc. 4) my co-owner is a soft-touch and thought we should do it. against my gut, i agreed to give him a deposit. 5) next day, i started getting quotes from other salesmen, and decided we had definitely been screwed, and called to inform them that I'd be canceling and pick up my check and sign the cancelation papers. 6) i get a call-back from an owner, a VP, or a high level manager -- apologizing for the high-pressure sales tactics, saying that they are against the company policy and that this rep had been "reprimanded before" for using this approach. was there anything he could do to make it right? he could take another $2k (later changed to $3k) off the windows. how much are these things marked up? do the sales guys get all profit over base price? i went with windows with another company that was highly rated, and the windows were highly rated. they look better and had better quality reviews overall online, for a price i could live with.

We went to the showroom to look at windows and we were so impressed by the quality and workmanship of the windows, that we ordered that day. We had what we thought would be an impossible deadline to meet. The owner (Harley, a wonderful man to work with) told us that he would try his best, but that it would normally take 4-6 weeks for the whole process. 2 weeks later, the windows were installed. They are beautiful and everyone, from the minute we walked into the showroom went above and beyond to make sure that we were satisfied. It's hard to find a company that cares so much about customer service, but Window Nation really does. We will definitely refer friends there and if we ever need their services again, I would not hesitate to use them. Thank you Window Nation for a job well done.

is a great comfort to have an honest and reliable company working with you. Many businesses tend to dismiss "old people," but we were treated better than we could have ever imagined. This was the best home improvement business endeavor we have experienced in years. We recommend Window Nation with absolutely no reservations. They are the kind of company that has made America great.
Description of Work: Window Nation gave a very professional, competetive estimate. When selected, they were punctual, very considerate (used their own vacuums to clean the site), tireless in their work ethic, and efficient (13 windows and one French door were installed in 12.5 hours of CONSTANT work). The two professionals who came were fantastic; their work ethic alone was stupendous, but every other consideration in your survey was also excellent. We will definately use them again. We are refurbishing our house before we retire and it

I called Window Nation for a quote on one window. Bridgette returned my call. I gave her the dimensions of the window. She followed through with a quote via email. The quote had a typo. She had 13 windows and one sliding door as the quote. We never mentioned a sliding door. A few days later, she sent a corrected email listing one window but didn't eliminate the sliding door on the quote sheet. Either way, $800.00 is too costly for a 30x30 replacement window.
Description of Work: I received a quote over the phone for one 30x30 window. The cost to replace the existing double hung window with another double hung window was $800.00. In my opinion, that is too costly for such a small window. Bridget returned my call and gave me a quote over the phone. She followed up with a quote via email

Couldn't have asked for a better company than Window Nation. The representative,Tim,came out and presented us with what they had and made a couple recommendations.Tim advised we needed tempered windows on the first floor due to the windows being close to the flooring, where the other companies didnt, and this was because of code. The crew arrived when they said they would and installed the 11 double hung windows and did an excellent job. They cleaned up and left the residence as they found it. After the windows were installed I was shown how the windows operated and they went over each window to see if I was satisfied. I'm glad I chose this company and would recommend them to all my friends and family.

I have used Window Nation in the past for my windows on the top 2 floors. I had a great experience so I tried them again. I was hoping that the experience would be the same. So many times, when you hire a contractor they don't do a good job on a return trip. I am hear to say that lightning struck twice. They did a MASTERFUL job. The process was even easier than the first time. David came back out and treated me like an old friend. The did a great job. AGAIN!! I did have a service to do from the original project. The tightened up the lock with out issue and I am as good as new. I am so glad that my experiences have gone well. So well in fact, that my neighbor is getting installed next week.

We called at least four different companies for quotes. All came and gave us the in-house pitch. Window Nation was the most informative, responsive to questions regarding window ratings, and the least pushy. He explained that the windows were made to order and not off a prefab shelf. We liked that as well as the other specifics of the product offerings. We also liked that the windows would be installed by Window Nation employees, not contracted out to someone else. After selecting the grade of window we wanted, the rep left us with a quote and wished us luck with our other estimate appointments. Two of the other three were more about promoting their company's reputation than their product and not nearly as informed about the specifics of the product. The fourth was a general contractor, who came in with the lowest price, but definitely the lowest quality product. Their were a couple of follow up calls within the next two weeks while we were making our decision. But again, not pushy at all. I asked for the bottom line price (never hurts to ask, right?) and they did negotiate a discount. The windows were installed in one day (we had 13). I admit that I did tip the installation guys in the morning before they started working. Not that they would have done anything different, but I wanted them to know that I realized the installation was the most important part of the job. They did a great job. We have been super happy with our purchase. On a hot day the inside glass feels cool to the touch and visa versa when it's cold. I recommend Window Nation very highly.

After a year of dealing with the original 50 year old windows we contacted Window Nation to get a price quote and see exactly what they had to offer. I was set up with a sales representative who came to our house to assess the job and to show the products that they had to sell. The sales representative showed up on time, was very knowledgeable and answered ever question that I had. The prices of the windows that they had ranged in price and I never once felt that I was being pressured to buy windows that were out of my budget. Install day came and they were there right on time, and started the install promptly after the initial product check was done. The installers were very hard workers, they started bright and early and worked until past dark! The overall experience with Window Nation was amazing and I would suggest them for anyone's window job big or small.
