At Window Nation, we know replacement windows. We’re third-generation window replacement experts who have been lucky to provide homeowners replacement windows, siding, and doors for over fifteen years. We opened our first showroom in Maryland in 2006, quickly growing to serve homeowners in cities across the country – and we’re not stopping there. We’re grateful for every homeowner who has trusted us to upgrade their most important asset: their home. We’ve learned a lot about home improvement over the years, but the most important thing we learned isn’t about window replacement. We learned the home improvement industry isn’t about offering the best windows, siding and doors; it’s about the relationships we build with our customers.
The Window Nation Crew was great. They showed up on time, finished quickly, and cleaned up after they were done.

I would highly recommend Window Nation. We had a big job with all 22 windows getting replaced as well as swapping out a sliding glass door for new steel French doors. What was estimated to be a two-day job was done in a few hours. They showed up with a team of 6 workers and knocked the job out immediately. Even though we were doing heavy construction all throughout the inside of the house, the staff was still exceptionally clean when working inside the house. They came with blankets to walk on when indoors, fully cleaned up after themselves, and did an exceptionally clean job. We're very satisfied!

The process to get new windows for our house started on 2/18/2016. We were in Glen Burnie and decided to stop by the Window Nation showroom. From the very start we were greeted by the Sales Manager (Gina) who was very informative about the products they offered as well as listened to what was important for us. She did this without being overly aggresive with her presentation. We left the showroom that day feeling we were being offered a quality product at a very fair price. After comparing the other 2 companies to what was being presented by Gina and Window Nation, we decided to move forward with the project. The project was completed on 4/11/16 with complete satisfaction. The installation crew completed all 24 windows in one day and left the property with a complete cleanup! We have had follow-up visits by the Quality control team at Window Nation as well as the production manager from Vytec to make sure we are totally satisfied with the windows and work that was done. We also received a follow-up call from Gina our Sales person. Everything that was mentioned to us by Gina that first meeting in February has turned out to be completely accurate. We are very happy with our decision to use Window Nation and have such a professional salesperson to work with.

I am very happy with my decision to go with Window Nation even though there were some bumps along the way. They originally left out one of the windows in the estimate however they gave us a decent discount when they added it on since it was their mistake. They also measured two of our windows incorrectly and when they first got there to install told us that they would have to come back another day when they had all of the correct windows. I told them I was not ok with that plan since I had already taken off work and I wanted the windows installed today. After speaking to the crew manager, they actually custom made the incorrect windows that day and ended up getting them all installed on time. I thought that was amazing customer service and turned my review around from 1 star to 5!

The Window Nation salesman came to my home with a 2 hour sales pitch. He spent the first 100 minutes reviewing their accolades (Angies's List, Value vs. Cost, Consumer Reports, ... ) and insulting the competitors products. The last 20 minutes was spent talking about his windows (Vytex). C'mon bro, the entire reason I asked you to come out was because I wanted to hear about YOUR windows, not what you think of the competition. Everything about this interview told me that the salesman didn't know his product- and was only interested in bashing the other guy. I learned NOTHING from him. And he had the gall to tell me to "trust him", and "not the other guy". He tried to push every gimmick on me, "buy now" discount (it's not good tomorrow!), which just p***** me off. If it's good today it can be extended tomorrow, period. Above all, the price quoted was terrible. Don't call this company unless you want a hard-nosed unprofessional sales pitch and charged a premium for the privilege of being their customer.

Good morning. First of all, thanks for taking the time to share your experience. We take it all quite seriously. Obviously, we don't like to hear things like this. We like to think we rise above the norm and always strive to do our best. But sometimes, we mess up or don't have the best sales call. Unfortunately, it sounds like that's what you experienced. I appreciate you giving us the opportunity, and I'm sorry we weren't able to earn your business. Best of luck with your home. Harley Magden, co- founder and owner.

I've changed my review for Window Nation to positive thanks to their sales rep John......He was very informative, gave me some good options, and wasn't trying to pressure me to make a decision right on the spot since I told him I had other companies that I wanted to hear out. I still have a few companies to meet with, but I did not want to leave a negative review up since that wouldn't be fair to the company.

Morning. First of all, thank you for taking the time to share this honest and thorough review. I genuinely appreciate it. And I am also happy to hear your kind feedback on our team and how they spoke to you -- this is an area that is very important to us. Having a young family myself, I can personally appreciate your comments around having kids present. While it used to be our preference to have both partners home, that's not actually the case anymore (that being said we do still find it's better, but completely understand it's not always realistic). So I apologize that this was pushed a few times on you and I will look into it. Thanks for giving us another opportunity to earn your business. Whether it's with us, or someone else, we wish you the best of luck with your home. Harley Magden, co-founder and owner.

I couldn't be happier with my experience with Window Nation both with the installation and sales process, in particular my dealings with Gina DeSerio in the Glen Burnie store who was by far the best salesperson I had dealt with over several months. I was in need of 21 total windows and asliding glass patio door. I did a ton of research online and through various online window forums to determine what brand of window and model of window was a good vinyl window. This is important because to compare apples to apples between window manufacturers, you need to know which models to compare for pricing since they all have lower quality windows and higher quality windows. So I had about 10 different companies come to my house for estimates which included the whole dog and pony show and the hard sale (one day only discount price if I signed today and put a sign in front of my house, paid cash, etc.). I have seen enough of these tactics that it got tiring and I would tell them to just skip it and tell me the brand of window they sell, the features and the price. Of course some of the lower brands and models (Alside Mezzo, Revere Berkshire, Simonton 5500, etc.) were cheaper but after some research online, I wanted a better window so I was specifically looking for a mid to high tier Soft-Lite, Affinity, Sunrise, Vytex, Okna line of vinyl windows without the astronomical price of say, Thompson Creek, Andersen, Pella, etc. (which by the way aren't better than the other manufacturers I mentioned although many people think they are because of the name). So after the sticker shock of all of the companies that came out to my house (which didn't include Window Nation), I decided to go into the Window Nation store in Glen Burnie and noticed they sold two of the windows I was looking at, Soft-Lite and Vytex. I was met by Gina DeSerio and she explained some of the features of the different tiers of windows by these manufacturers and I told her the ballpark measurements of the windows I was looking at and she gave me a price for the windows/installation for each window manufacturer and comparable product for each in an hour with no prior contact or appointment! She was very knowledgeable about each window and its ratings/features and there was no hard sell (no discounts for paying with cash, putting a sign outside my house, one day only pricing, etc.) and the price was thousands, yes thousands, better than all of the others that came to my house some of which were selling the same exact window and options. Since I was buying so many windows, I was able to get better pricing such that the price from Window Nation was close to some of the lower brands/models I was looking at originally. She was also very knowledgeable about the installation process. One of my requirements was that they use non-expansion foam to seal up the window, which they did (some don't and if they said they didn't use non-expansion foam, I wouldn't use them). I didn't buy right away (since it is such a large purchase) and the price never changed when I was ready to buy a couple weeks later. All in all, Gina was by far the best person out of all the others hands down and nobody was even close. She answered emails and calls very promptly (usually within an hour) whenever I had questions or changes to my order (which happened several times). As for the installation, similar to the sales process, it couldn't have been better/easier. I made sure that when I mentioned installation to Gina, I wanted the best with no issues. I didn't know this but Window Nation does not have its own crews to do the install. Many people will tell you that is a bad thing but here is why it is actually better in this case. If you order Soft-Lite windows, guess what, you get a Soft-Lite crew that they have trained and that is all they install so they know the product inside and out. Same with Vytex, you get a Vytex installation team from the manufacturer. I view this as a big plus as the manufacturer will have to stand behind the installation since they did it. In fact, for the measurement of my windows, Soft-Lite flew a person from Ohio (where Soft-Lite is based) to measure my windows. As for the installers, C.K. and his crew were top notch, they were on time, explained everything about the install as they were doing the installation, showed me all of the features of the windows, cleaned up after themselves (including cleaning all of the windows inside and out) and made sure that I was satisfied with everything before they left. They also finished all 21 windows and the sliding glass door in one day even though they estimated it would be a two day installation. That is what I like, under promise and over deliver. I see some negative reviews on here about Window Nation and my experience couldn't have been better. Maybe my experience would have been different if a salesperson came to my house but guess what, most of the companies I dealt with had the exact same sales tactics so I don?t fault them for that since most consumers don?t take the time to educate themselves on windows so of course they will be in there for 2 plus hours, etc. If you don?t like the hard sale, do yourself a favor and go see Gina DeSerio in the Glen Burnie office, you won?t be disappointed.

We are getting estimates to replace 17 Windows with higher end replacement windows. We have gotten several estimates. We found our interaction with WIndow Nation disagreeable enough that we wanted to a share it. If reviewing a company for why you did NOT choose them is not appropriate on Angie's List then I invite them to remove it. Our interactions with Window Nation had several negative points to it. 1. We found the business in Glen Burnie, MD closed during posted business hours. No indication was posted as to why the business was closed during the business hours posted on the door. When I called I was put on hold for 20 minutes. I was then told someone could meet me at the business later. 2. I mistakenly called Window Nation for an estimate (I had not planned on doing so after point 1), I was pressured to have both my wife and I present. I explained multiple times that we had very divergent schedules. Finally I provided an ultimatum; do business with me or we are done. The woman left the phone to speak with someone and returned agreeing to send someone out. Note: When the sales person called to confirm that he was on the way for the estimate I realized my mistake and told him so on the phone. I explained that I had not intended to do business with Window Nation but because the mistake was mine he was welcome to come out and provide an estimate. We found the sales person (personally) the best part of our interaction with Window Nation. Plus, we really like the Grandview window. It seems to be a very good product and rivals the Okna 500. 3. Window Nation is the only company we have received estimates from that charges a fee for warranty work. 4. Window Nation's original estimate was the highest of all the estimates we received. 5. Subsequent emails with Window Nation reduced the estimate to be more competitive and relaxed the warranty fee to not occur within the first 5 years but redefined "lifetime warranty" as 7 years. 6. The email on April 15th required a decision within 2 days. While I had concerns prior, my decision was made upon reading "Just let me know yay or nay by this Friday." Truth be told, their Grandview Window really seems to be a good product. It is supposed to be the Soft-lite LS made specifically for Window nation. However, each interaction with Window Nation, except for the salesman who gave us the estimate, lessened our comfort level and trust in them. "Lifetime warranty" got redefined to 7 years. Some of the things they stated about their competitors were totally different than what was stated in written estimates we received from those competitors. When we received the "Just let me know yay or nay by this Friday" our decision was made. We simply felt that their business practices of pressuring for both home owners to be present, charging for warranty work, redefining "lifetime" as 7 years and asking for decisions within 2 days were incompatible with our needs and desires.
Description of Work: To be clear, the provider did no work but was being CONSIDERED to do work. I was getting estimates for work to be done. Perhaps Angie's List Reviews are only for work has already been done. This review is regarding why I chose NOT to have them do the work.

Contacted Window Nation because they carried one of the brands of windows that I had been researching, Soft-Lite. They also had a promotion for $1 installation. Eric Fleshman was our salesperson, very easy to get along with. Told him what we were looking for, he had a sample of the window with him, and did not try to talk me from the windows I wanted into something that was better for him to sell. Told him the price I wanted, and he gave me the price. He originally said that the price was this, but that he could come down to my price. No haggling, very straightforward. Windows were installed on Halloween 2014. Installers came first thing in the morning, and removed the old windows and installed the new windows. The installation crew was very courteous and did their work quickly and professionally. The job took about 2-3 hours. On the windows in the front of the house (living room), there was some rusted metal at the top where the windows meet the brick. The foreman told his crew that they needed to cap the rusted metal to make everything look nice. When the job was done, everything was to my satisfaction. Very happy with our decision to go with Window Nation, and would recommend them to anyone that is looking to get new windows.

The only problem with them is that the salesman told me one thing and something else occurred. The salesman assured me that after spending $14000 on 23 windows that there will be no condensation in my house on the windows but he was wrong. Whether he fabricated that or not, I don?t know. I assume he was just a salesman trying to make a sales so he gave me a sales speech. That is probably why I did not go in the internet to give them a critique because I could not hold myself at that time and I could not be solo talking about him. I don?t want to commit anything to writing because on what I do because so all ask for my email address which is awkward. But you know salesman, they will tell you one thing and you will doubt it and you will be absolutely correct. I got them off from Angie?s List. I don?t know whether these guys sealed the insulator around the window before you put it in or when you put it on, I don?t recall seeing them do that. The guys who worked were great but they were rushing and they don?t speak English but we did not have a lot of time for conversations. I will probably use Window World next time only because they are local but I cannot yet attest if they have quality windows.

Hi [members name]. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. I looked into this and spoke with the team. Condensation is a natural occurrence that results from humidity in the home that windows can help with, as you know. Given your continued issues with interior condensation, we are sending a technician out to assess the windows and how they were installed as well as the humidity levels in your home. We want to be absolutely certain all the materials were used properly during the installation process. We are going to work to get this scheduled today at your convenience. Thank you and please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you. Harley Magden, co-owner and founder. hmagden@windownation.com

.Jane did a great job of explaining what their windows and how they differ from the other companies windows that I had gotten quotes from. She did a great job of not only explaining the differences, but showing me how their windows keep heat in during the winter and AC in during the summer. Our current windows are the original windows that came with our home from the previous/original owner of the house. They are very drafty and are the first major update that we are doing on the home this year. My wife and I wanted to make sure that we got a good product that would help with the efficiency of our home for years to come. Jane was very knowledgable and greeted us at the beginning of our meeting. She answered our questions and made sure that we understood the different products that Window Nation offered. The work hasn't been done yet, but the windows have been measured as of today 2/14/15. Should there be anything that would require the this review to be edited after the installation I'll update this review at that time. I would do business with Window Nation again, and I have heard nothing but good things from them from two of my co-workers who have used them in the past, so I have high expectations that our installation will go smoothly and we will have some efficient, new windows in just over a month from now.
Description of Work: Jane from Window Nation stopped by to give me a quote for ten replacement windows. We previously had signed a contract with another company, but after her presentation we cancelled that contract and signed a new contract with Window Nation.

I told the fellow whoshowed up that he was the first of at least three estimates. Following that I was shown their example window with all its supposedly special features and then I was quoted $13900 to replace my 12 windows. There was no explanation on how this number was arrived at. A piece of paper was produced with a squiggle all the way down to the price. When I told the guy thanks but he's the first guy, he says, what if we put a sign in your yard? He can reduce the price since I'll be an "EXAMPLE" house and out comes another piece of paper was produced with a squiggle all the way down to the price which is $4000 less. When I again told the guy thanks but he's the first guy, the o'l what number will it take? Again, I told the guy thanks but he's the first guy, so he packs he packs up all of his stuff and ask him about a written estimate. He says they'll e-mail me a PDF file - it never came... A couple of weeks later I get a call from him and he asks if I made up my mind? I tell him I never got the quote and he swears up and down it was sent. In any event I told him I went with someone else and also told him the other quote was THOUSANDS less. Boo-Hiss...

It was a very positive experience. We contacted them online and very quickly were able to schedule a visit from a salesman. He had a very thorough sales pitch with sample windows and a demo of the insulation properties of the windows. He was very clear about the options and the pricing and gave us several choices. The measuring and then the actual installation were also scheduled pretty quickly. The installation crew was wonderful. They were extremely professional and careful, and replaced all 13 windows in one day. They were polite and courteous, and cleaned up everything after themselves. We have had the windows in for a few weeks now and are really very pleased with the installation. The house is less drafty and is also quieter because of the better quality window than the ones that were in previously. It's always scary to make a big investment like this in a house but we feel it has been a good choice.

This was an excellent experience. I had been dreading the hard sell, but I did not get it. I had been to the showroom in Glen Burnie and 2 months before. When I called, I received a real person who set up a consultation. The technician who came out was very knowledgeable about all of their products. We put down a down payment and scheduled the work to be done on eight windows. On the day of the service, I received a call to let me know the men were on the way. To my surprise, there were only two men, but that was all that was needed. I could tell immediately these men had done this many, many times. They went right to work and had my eight windows in within four or five hours. The cleanup was magnificent. I have 12 more windows which must be replaced. It will be a breeze because I already know where I am going.

The workers showed up at 8:45 am (we were told they would be here between 8-10 am). They re-measured all windows to make sure measurements were accurate before they began tearing them down. There were three men who all new their jobs and they worked very well together. They did not take a break until 1pm when I saw them eating their lunch. After about 15 minutes they started all over again and did not stop until the job was complete at 6:40pm. There was very little mess, which was cleaned up with their own vacuum. I am very impressed with their work ethic and would NOT hesitate to use them again or recommend them to friends and family. The windows look great!! They did a wonderful job of installing, insulating, caulking, cleaning up and washing the windows. Thank you!!
