They are reliable, their prices are reasonable, they were on time, and I would recommend them to others.
Description of Work: I have use this company multiple times over the past 2 months for leaks on on my patio enclosures roof. They had to caulk and my skylight was leaking every time it rained. They came out every time I called and it rained here recently and I have had no problems.

Outstanding service, the project was in line with cost, schedule, and performance.
The "project manager" who was also the salesman promised that project could start in June but actual start date was not until September. We chose Patio Enclosures because they indicated they could start before our first choice contractor but that turned out to not be true. The carpenter who actually directed the crew and did the work was dependable and did good work. The sun room generally met our expectations as to quality except for the windows. Patio Enclosures is associated with Stanek Windows and the Stanek windows do not measure up to those of competitors windows in some respects. The casement type windows that were required to be tempered glass show distortion along the edges. The distortion is the first thing that is noticed when one looks into the room detracting from an otherwise attractive room. Patio enclosures claims it is a result of the manufacturing process for tempered glass and that nothing can be done to correct the defects. As a side note the tempered glass Andersen windows that we have show no such distortion. Some of the latches on the windows failed at installation and another failed just this evening when closing the window.

I intended to complete my previous review, once the job was complete. It has been close to 7 months past their contracted completion date, stated as within 120 days. We finally hired another contractor to repair the work done by Great Day Improvements, dba Patio Enclosures, finish the entire project, and even complete various maintenance and improvement jobs all over our house, for slightly over half the cost quoted by Great Day! Rather than giving my honest opinion of Great Day at this time, I'd rather give a glowing opinion and recommendation of the correct contractor to trust for all your projects for your family's home. His name is Ron and works with his son, and often a brother; it is a family owned operation. They take meticulous pride in their work, and produce the same quality job that they would want in their own home. (See more..)

The deck installation went fine. I've had them out to touch up up a couple of issues where a possibility of a leak existed. I've had to wait over a week to get someone to repair a support problem that led to the county not passing the room during the final inspection.

Thank you very much for your review. We apprciate your business.
Our experience has been terrible! I wouldn't hire them to build an outhouse. They have never apologized for anything and have been horrible to deal with. They have County violations they haven't corrected in our room. The quality of workmanship is terrible. Jeff Tice hand wrote our contract and we couldn't read it. When he came out with his sales representative we explained to him what we wanted and he wrote it up. We told him we would take him at his word and signed the contract. We had 3 days that we could have gotten out of it, but we didn't. We've had problems from then on.

We have offered to repair all punch list items for the customer. They have refused to allow us to come back and take care of these few items. Patio Enclosures stands behind all work we do and will fix any open issues. Again, unfortunately this customer refuses to allow us to fix these items as they are trying to get money off of thier project.

The work began on June 12, 2012 and was completed on October 9, 2012. We experienced many problems with the project and needed to contact Patio Enclosures on numerous occasions. The problems occurred due to the lack of a complete set of written plans and the use of subcontractors. The owner of Patio Enclosures always acknowledged our concerns and promised to make good on them; however, it generally took a long time to do so. Ultimately all issues were resolved, but the project took 4 months to complete, instead of 4 weeks as estimated. We are definitely satisfied with the finished deck and enclosure, but it did require a lot of our time and took too long to complete.

The fact that the management team from Patio Enclosures tried to sell me on the idea that the inadequate construction of the first pad was going to work tells volumes about the ethics of this company. Eight months to build a 13x13 room addition is absurd. We were too deeply involved to get out of the situation and it would have cost us too much to do so. We trusted these people and they knowingly let us down. They will, undoubtedly, have excuses and reasons for all of the problems. The bottom line is that they are completely unprofessional and ethically questionable
Description of Work: We contracted to have a 13x13 room addition on our home. We signed the contract in Feb. 2012. Work did not start until about May. A concrete crew showed up to pour a pad for the addition. I had difficulty communicating with them. They did not know they were pouring for an addition but thought it was a patio. We attempted to alert the company of the pending problem but got no response until the framing crew showed up and declared they could not build on the pad. The pad had no footers, the forms for the pour were unsupported and had bowed out, and the cement did not even reach to the ground. The management came to inspect the job and assured me that the pad weighed so much that it would never move. The inspector then arrived and gave them two choices. They could underpin or jackhammer the pad away and start over. Starting over was chosen. Another crew arrived, did the demolition and constructed the new pad. The carpentry crew was then able to begin. We finally got the addition completed around the first of Oct. The finished product has a two inch slope to the left corner and is visible in the ceramic tile that we had installed. We don't know what problems we will have in the future with this construction.

Back in October 2003 I had a deck enclosed with a "Patio Enclosure". At first it was great. No problems. But then I had water problems and boy did I. Water was runing in my house between where the enclosure met the house. I called them and explained the situation and they sent someone out to "band-aid" the problem. When the workman band-aided the problem he tore up the roofing on my house's roof. During the blizzard I had even more water. Water was ltterally draining into the enclosure. I could see it run down the inside roof and dripping all the way. I called them and it was several weeks that they could even come out. I hired someone to at least shovel off all the snow from the roof. When they did come out they tore off all my shingles on the enclosure and "supposedely covered with plastic gel " that would prenvent any leaks. I told them that if it was done right the first time I would not have have that problem. I was told to still pay the $500 that seemed to being the going rate everytime they came out. I contined to have water problems each time calling them and they would again fix something that should had been done right the first time and charging me $500. I asked the owner to come out and look but he just said if I did not pay that he would no longer cover my warranty. I had a gutter guy come out this past month who installed gutter guard and he commented on the enclosure. He said the if I did not get something fixed there that I was going to have major water problems again. He said where the enclosure meets the house roof there is no shingles, they have been all torn off. That the shingles are all different sizes and coloring on my roof and whover did the roofing job was not a roofer. I am now in the process of getting a roofer to come who will testify on my behalf of the slip shod workmanship of "Patio Enclosre". Stay tune in , I will be back with more comments and updates. Patio Enclosure you messed with the wrong person!

[removed member name] had a roof leak on her house. 9 years after we built her sunroom the roof leak was coming from here roof which we did not build. We did all the service work and repaired her roof and asked [removed member name] to pay for materials for her roof which we did not build. Again, we fixed the roof at [removed member name] home and she has yet to pay us the $500 for the repairs to her home.

I received the estimate in August and after booking with them in early September they put me on the schedule for late September. It took two weeks to finish the project. I was still able to live in my house during the retrofit and they were very respectfull of what time they arrived and left so that my home time wasn't disrupted to much. The customer service rep checked in on me three times while the project was underway and I appreciated that but it was not needed. I now have a porch that I can use year round and that my firends will just love.
Description of Work: I received an awning add on and a refit of my sunroom. I was happy with the guys that did the work and I like the fact that Pat was accomodating when I changed the colors on the scope of work.

They built a sunroom for me and about a year and a half after it was completed the roof began leaking. They came out and patched the roof up for me and a couple of weeks later it was leaking again. Soon after the second repair it stopped raining and snowing. A little bit after the two year warranty was up we had a rather severe storm and the roof began leaking again. When I called them to come out they pretty much told me tough luck, your warranty is up. They told me that they would come out and look at it, but for the estimate alone they would charge about a hundred and sixty five dollars. Following this I had a couple of roofing companies come out and look at everything and they told me that the roof was done incorrectly to begin with. I was very unhappy with them.

If I was doing this again, I would insist on some performance dates with financial penalties built in if not met. For example, I would reduce the first payment from 1/3 to 10% and condition subsequent payments the completion of blueprintgs, submission for permits, date by which work starts, etc. with penalties of $1,000 per week of delay. They will probably object, but I this is more fair than the way their contracts require 1/3 upfront, and 1/3 when they deliver the materials so the owner is out 2/3 before any work begins. I would also ask for a detailed write up of what is required in terms of electrical service, excavation, etc, and they assume the risk is this changes.
Description of Work: Added a 14' x 16' sunroom onto our house. The sunroom has an aluminum frame and glass sides and walls. My wife and I finished the floor ourselves as the company does not do tile. The work was done very well. We are pleased with the final result. I have two principal complaints. The first was that we signed the contract in early June and were led to believe the work would begin in August. The project actually started in mid December and finished up in late January due to weather delays. PE said most of the delays were due to Fairfax County's permiting process. This was part of the problem. The other was that they were slow to start the actual measurements and blueprints. My second issue was that the salesman said we wouldn't need to modify our electric box. In fact we had to upgrade our electric service from 150 amp to 200 amp which added another $3,000 to the cost.

They were good enough that we have used them more than once. The salesman was very detailed in asking us what we wanted, and in taking measurements. There was a little delay on waiting on the home owners association on just getting the approval but once they started they worked very fast and very clean. They were very close to there original estimate. We actually got 800 dollars back.

Description of Work: The overall job was not on schedule and the work was not done as specified as originally agreeded upon. Upon completion, the sunroom leaked the first time it rained. The company let the permits expire, but sent us a letter that if we did not let them in for final inspection that all of the warranties would be voided. Now almost a year later, it is leaking again.
