+ -1 moreMaxAir was a breath of fresh air for me, after trying to deal with multiple HVAC companies that either weren't professional, gave me bad advice, or I just didn't trust. A friend recommended MaxAir to me, and although they were further away from my home address than I would normally go, I called them. It's been a pleasure to deal with them ever since. They seem to really know HVAC, and they are polite, punctual, and even put cloth booties over their shoes when they enter the house. They are also very patient, and were the only company to give me the level of detail that I needed when considering a new HVAC system. I have switched to MaxAir and gladly have an annual contract with them now.

Description of Work: Do not hire this company. The technician broke our system, and the company refused to reimburse us or repair it. When I spoke with the company manager, after making several calls to her. I finally reached her after she did not return my calls. She repeatedly was rude, and very unprofessional. Do not pay for a service contract with this company, and do not use them to service your HVAC.

+ -1 moreThe office response is very good and knows where and when the serviceman is working. I met him at a rental unit and he was already there working on the A/C compressor located on a second floor landing accessible only by ladder. He was very efficient and competent in his work as well as courteous. I switched from BGE because they would not service the compressor on the landing and now have a service contract with Max Air with which I have been very pleased.
Description of Work: One of the two yearly tune-ups for the A/C & furnace.

+ -1 moreThere was only one thing that bothered me. When I tried to call for emergency stuff, all I got was an answering service and they never did return my call. So, I failed them on that one, I would give them an ?F? for return calls and emails and stuff. They did a good job installing the furnace and everything. It was a good price. The people who installed it were professional, but the office is very unprofessional. There?s no reason to be that way, if you are wanting to maintain a business. On top of that, the salesman that I talked to, to get my furnace from gave us his cell phone number. We called it, left him numerous messages about emergency situation. Nothing, not one word! The next time we ever heard from him was when they called me up and said, ?it?s time for your inspection!? I went, ?okay!? The inspector came out and inspected their work. He failed them on several things. I don?t know what they were, cause they don?t ever tell you. He did say, ?it?s not unsafe, you can use it, it?s not going to kill you or anything!? I think it was just minor stuff, but he failed them. They came out, made some repairs. He came back and he said, ?no, none of this is done right!? So, he failed them again. He notified them and we have not heard anything from them and that has been since November 21st. They have not been back to fix anything. Once their contract ends, the service for a year and all of that, then after that you have to buy a service contract. I will not be using them! In fact, I have already signed a new contract with another company to take over the same day theirs expire.
Description of Work: I had a furnace installed by Max Air. They installed a new oil burning furnace for me.

+ -1 moreFrom the moment I called MaxAir, I knew I had chosen the right company to perform the job that I needed. From their professionalism, to their "down to earth" feel of when I spoke to them on the phone, and to the pricing that I had thought would be more expensive. I had called on a Friday, and they said they could come out the next day, Saturday. I was worried that the price would drastically increase due to a weekend job, but everything seemed to be the same, which I was very happy about. In my particular case, I was not able to be there to be home when the technician was scheduled to come out. The technician had called me 45 minutes prior to his arrival to my home. He also called me when he arrived, to ensure that the lock box for my unit was the one sitting outside. He called me approximately 30 minutes later to discuss the findings of my a/c unit. He verified everything was in working order, and was compliant with what the previous home inspector had noted. I had asked for this in writing, to present to the buyer of my home, and Tomi promptly sent over a letter explaining the same. I would like to thank MaxAir, for going above and beyond. My expectations were met, and then some. Everyone was very friendly over the phone, the prompt service of a next day appointment, and the multiple phone calls I received from the technician show how much this company cares for their customers. I would absolutely, without a doubt recommend MaxAir, for any HVAC job you may have. You will not be disappointed!

Description of Work: On Thursday, October 29, 2015, a Tracey, a Maxair technician, checked my furnace, cleaned it, and determined that I needed a new control board to insure proper operation. I had no idea what to expect and believed that I might need a new furnace. I was relieved to hear his assessment and was pleased by his level of knowledge, skill, and courteous, polite behavior. + -1 moreThey were pretty responsible; I remember being very pleased with that. I remember the service was competitively priced with what we were looking at for air conditioning and heating. I also remember they understood we did not want top of the line and we did not want bottom of the line so they took the time to explain with us what were the benefits and cons of the middle of the road. They gave us the information we wanted which was really nice; that made it easier. I remember there was something they had to come back and re-fix because it was not installed quite perfectly. They came back quickly.
Description of Work: In the D.C. area, MaxAir was great. They helped us replace some stuff because we were getting our house ready to rent.

+ -1 moreI decided to use a provider outside of American Home Shield (AHS) and get a better longer lasting unit than AHS would allow this contractor to provide under their contract. This is not the fault of the contractor but a constraint from the AHS contract.
Description of Work: Under American Home Shield the provider came out to assess the failure of my Air Conditioner. Their assessment was acceptable but, due to constraints by American Hame shield, the resolution offered was only a "band Aid" I opted to go with a different provider who was not constrained and get a longer lasting resolution.

Description of Work: MaxAir Heating and AC Service 325 Roesler Road, Glen Burnie, MD 21060 (410) 766-4989 I would like to thank Tracey Shipman and Mike Fick of MaxAir for all their help in making sure that my HVAC system installed incorrectly by another contractor will operate correctly in accordance with the manufacturers’ specifications. When my unit was originally installed by another contractor, it did not work properly, and after many attempts to get it working, I had to find a knowledgeable HVAC company to fix all of the problems. I contacted Carrier Inc. and asked for their help in finding a competent contractor to diagnose my HVAC. They recommended MaxAir of Glen Burnie, MD. I contacted MaxAir and they sent out one of their highly skilled technicians to take a look at my system. Within 30 minutes of his arrival, he found that my system was wired incorrectly and noted many issues with the previous company’s installation. Initially, he corrected the wiring issue and for the first time, my house started to heat and cool properly. The following day, I was provided with an estimate for what it would cost to correct all of the deficiencies with the other companies installation. Within a few days, Mike and Wascar came to my home to totally remove the system and re-install the entire system to correct all of the problems. The professionalism and courteous manner made them a pleasure to deal with! In addition, upon completion of such a dirty job, they left my home in the same condition as the found it in, spotless! Because my system had run for more the 3 months, non-stop, before the corrections were made, this caused my system to have residual damage to the compressor and other parts, because of excessive use. MaxAir went out of their way to transfer the warranty for parts to their company and has kept fixing the problems that arise, because of the residual damage caused by another contractor.
