We scheduled the move a week in advance. They called 30 minutes prior to the scheduled appointment. The company asked to reschedule for another day. They said they didn't know it was going to rain. Their excuse was that it was raining and they might damage our property and it would be costly to them. When we said that we had to move out that day they said they would call back. They never called back. We then called Alpha Wolf Moving. Alpha said they could move us the same day but were currently moving another family. Alpha came through for us. I would never recommend Henry Moving Company to my worst enemy.

Worst service ever!!! I too have had a horrible experience with Henry. I only chose this company because I needed a cheap deal. I guess I got what I paid for. PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THE FOLLOWING!!! 1. Henry only accepts cash. RED FLAG!!! 2. He tells you to text him the information about your move. No paperwork is ever exchanged. 3. No receipts are given afterward and you don't know the names of your movers Bottom line: If things go wrong, it's just your word against his. So make sure you have a paper trail. His business is shady. My move was supposed to move yesterday at 3:30 pm but Henry mixed up my time. The movers called and said they were on their way at 9:00 am but I told them that my time was supposed to be at 3:30 pm. They said okay that's fine. So at 3:30, I am waiting to hear from someone but I hear NOTHING. I called Henry and he seems frustrated with ME that there was miscommunication. I told him to check the text messages because I clearly stated 3:30. He told me that I could reschedule for the next day because they don't do moves from DC to Baltimore in the afternoon because of the traffic. However, he NEVER stated this after I initially texted my 3:30 pm time. So reluctantly, I had to reschedule for NOON the next day. The movers called the next morning and said that they will be there at 10:30 am (***!!!). So they take 3 hours and 10 minutes to move a 1 bedroom apt from storage to an apartment that is 5 miles down the road from the storage facility. They wanted to upcharge me by an hour for the additional 10 minutes. His website states that any time under 30 minutes is pro-rated. Henry was EXTREMELY rude about it and would not compromise the 10 minutes and take a partial payment although they were a day late. So I paid for 4 hours of service when I only received 3 hours and 10 minutes of service plus a lot of miscommunication and attitude. The icing on top of the cake is that I am missing a glass vase!! NEVER again will I deal with this company. The owner is shady and rude. BEWARE!

The movers damaged my TV, they admitted to damaging my TV, while speaking with owner on the following week, the owner spoke with me about purchasing another television to replace the damaged one. However, he then avoided all my communication after a week of speaking. The issue is still open and has not been resolved.
Description of Work: They move my belongings from a 1 bedroom apartment to a new location.

The movers themselves were fine. They were pleasant enough and very quick, however they did bang a few things around. I am however VERY unsatisfied with the professionalism of the company at large. On their website and in their confirmation email, they say they take credit cards or cash (no personal checks). AFTER the movers finished loading the truck, the movers informed me that their boss told them this morning that the credit card system was down and they could not accept them. The company never called to inform me of this, and would only accept cash. When I asked them to call their manager, they responded by saying "this happens all the time, he will just tell you to go find an ATM." I don't know who they expect to have an extra $150 dollars plus tip money available without any notice. I would NOT recommend this company if you would like to pay with anything other than cash or if you expect a certain level of professionalism including informing customers of payment option changes before services are rendered.
