The tech, Harry, was professional, competent, correct in his diagnosis and efficient in the repair. I chose the firm based on the high number of repairs done in my area, my first time using an Angie's list company. I could not be happier and will definitely use them again. Did forget the coupon though.

On time, informative. Gave us options in addition to immediate repair. Will save us money in the long term. Will use them for system replacement.

After reading very good reviews from Angie's list I called don hoffacker for estimates. Rick came for an estimate and he did thorough analysis about my requirements and explained me what needs to be done. Within 2 days he sent me an email with estimates, and also mailed a booklet with estimates and product brochures. Rick also clarified all the doubts I had with patience. I was so impressed with their professionalism and decided to go with them. They scheduled in 2 days for the installation. On installation day I.e Jan 21st Monday 4 guys (2 Mikes) came at 9 am sharply and explained me what they are going to do, and they finished the job by 2 pm. These are terrific guys and I have never came across these kind of guys. After installation they explained me in detail what they did. After that Mike (super) explained me about the thermostat thoroughly with lots of patience. Overall Don Hoffacker people are very professional and this is first time I took decision in 3 days to get any job done which is above $500.

I called to get a QUOTE for insalling a humidifier I had purchased. We made an appointment for the next day. The next day, an hour before the window they should be showing up, I get a call. I was told they don't normally install humidifiers purchased elsewhere and something about not having enough time today to do it but they don't want to come out again and they are done several people. It was not a cohesive message. So I called back to the office and they reiterated they don't normally do this (even though there was no problem when I called to make the appointment and again this is AN HOUR before they're due to show up)! I'm glad I didn't take the day off for this. And they throw out a cost of $450 for the install. They never came to see the unit, where it would be located, if the water and drainage was run-nothing. Just a number. I asked what they're hourly rate is and they said they don't really have an hourly rate and bill by the job (which typically is would I would prefer but this is rediculous). I feel they threw out a number that's way too high just to make me go away because they were short staffed and my job wasn't big enough. As a comparision another company estimated $300-350. I'm not impressed.

We were very happy with the service and will be sure to call again for future HVAC needs.

They sent a 3-4 man crew, worked steadily the entire day, informed me of their progress proactively while they worked, and explained the operation of the new system to me before they left. They could not have been nicer, more efficient, or more organized and competent. And when I had a problem a few months later, they responded immediately and solved the problem. I highly recommend them.

Overall, the experience was good. They did what they said they were going to do and told me what they were going to do beforehand. They explained the prices thoroughly. They put mats down everywhere to make sure everything stayed clean, even though it was pouring down rain. The technicians were very nice gentlemen and I felt comfortable having them in my home. When they left, everything actually worked without any problems.

It was great! The gentleman inspected my unit and advised me that it looked as though it had never been cleaned. This concerned me because I had had other companies out to clean it. Furthermore, my electric bill was cut in half after he cleaned the unit. Ultimately, he did a wonderful job, and I will definitely use him in the future.

Very professional. Pricing was in line with others and my experience with them over 2 decades won them the contract. A few days after the contract was signed, the new units and controls were installed and operational. Very professional and knoweledgeable installers. Great atteniton to detail and understanding of customer's needs. I recommend them frequently to others. 20 year relationship and they have never let me down.

He arrived shortly after 2 (our window was 2-4pm) and was very professional and friendly. He answered all of our questions and I hope if we have any further issues, that he is the one to help us!

My biggest concern was the installers not making a mess. I was never so pleased. They covered the floor from where they brought the unit in thru the basement as well as the utility room closet. They cleaned up after themselves. There was no dust or dirt. I thought I was going to have to clean dust from everything. It was spotless!! I also got the first year service contract free Since it has been installed I am very pleased and can see the results of the energy efficiency in my last Monty's bill as compared to last year. I have used them in the past for service and this was the first time for a heat and A/C replacement. I would highly recommend them. P.S. their office staff is always polite and courteous. It is a pleasure to do business with them

Hoffacker's responded immediately to the service call. The tech was on site within an hour even though this was not an "emergency". As usual, they were professional, courteous and provided excellent service at a price that is quite reasonable for Montgomery County, MD.

Hoffacker's sent three guys to take the A/C unit off. They came on time, and it took about 30 minutes to do the job. When I called them back two weeks later, they again arrived on time. Hoffacker's sent four workers this time, and it took them about 2 hours to move the unit back in place, connect everything, re-charge and test the A/C. I am satisfied with their work. There was only one minor thing. Their work left a donut-shaped oil film on my driveway. When I confronted them about this they tried to sidestep...but it clearly could have been only from their work...I cleaned it up with some soap. They gave me the option to take it up with their office, but I chose not too, as it was no big deal and cleaned up easily....Overall, I would use them again. Their pricing was very competitive, the lowest among six different companies.

From the begining estimate to the finishing of the installation everthing was done very professionaly. The estimator took the time to look for anything that might add an extra cost and even helped me open up an old flue to see if it was stilll servicable. The estimate was a very fair price and the job was completed at that price. The installers showed up on time and completed the work with very little disruption. At the completion of the job they went over the operation and maintenancve of the new appliances thouroughly.

On time, within budget, everything very satisfactory

Went well. Team showed up punctually, did quality work, no mess. Team was responsive to questions and answered honestly. Set a fair price: not cheap, but not excessive. Would recommend and would use again.

The service experience was excellent. Setting up the appointment was easy, the serviceman was on time and both friendly and professional. The service man took time to make sure each part of my system was working correctly and explained why he was switching out the electrical part. I plan to use this company for any future work on my heat pump system.

Service man prompt on arrival, very efficient and thorough. I'm very happy with the service, and plan to use this company for all future HVAC service needs.

When my A/C stopped working, I contacted them via Angie's List. A technician came promptly, realized that the unit had zero freon, and told me that I need to upgrade to a modern A/C unit (even though mine was only 8 years old). I like to learn about the details of how things work and why they failed, and he spent good time explaining everything to me, which I appreciated greatly. I agreed to the replacement, and in a few days, they sent a full crew of 3 technicians who did a great job and did it fast. They also took the time to explain to me everything they did (and what I need to do to make sure nothing goes wrong again). There was a mix-up on the price, I signed to a lower number on the work proposal than the crew was supposed to charge. But they honored the lower price that I had signed to on the proposal, honesty that is much appreciated. Whenever I have HVAC needs in the future, I will contact them first.

Overall everything went wonderfully.

The technician came the same day I called and since the issue was so minuscule he didn't even charge me. Fixed our heating problems, answered all of my questions and left within 15 mins. Amazing really. Would definitely recommend.

Our service for this call was excellent. We had a review of our HVAC and then some recommended services. The price was excellent. The work was done on time. They showed up when they said they would be here, did the work they said they would and charged the price they said they would. I will use them again.

Contacted several companies for estimates. First company is large regional company that was very informative and negotiated price when I told them I wanted additional estimates. Against my better judgement I went with them. They were suppose to start work almost immediately which was a plus, so I thought. They called the same evening to tell me they made a mistake in the pricing. I cancelled the work and had to argue for my deposit back. My next two estimates were relatively competitive and I went with the one that was a little cheaper. Chose Hoffacker and I've been very happy. Presidential was a very close second and they also had excellent customer service.

Our Heathing and A/C systems had apparently been malfunctioning for a few months. With busy lives, we kept putting off doing research on companies that could help (we were not pleased with our previous provider). After a $950 electric bill, we finally joined Angie's list and called a couple of contractors with good ratings to get estimates. Hoffacker was very prompt in responding to our call.

The pump for my furnance was leaking. Don came out promptly, diagnosed and replaced the unit. This fixed my issue. Also, he poked around my furnance set-up finding a few little issues and giving me some pointers on how to maintain it. The whole process was on-time and very quick. As far as I am concerned this was great service.
