Whiting Company

The work was great, I would use them again in the future and recommend them to others. They showed up on time and were professional.

They were no shows on the first day. The supervisor was sick and they failed to inform me that they would not show up. The basement door was installed fine, however they did not to a great job with the front and side door.

We've hired Whiting Co for several jobs and they continue to impress. They bid the job lower than all competitors and their work is impeccable. The bid process was smooth and transparent. Once started the roofers arrived on time, completed the work quickly and left our home and yard cleaner than they had found it. The guys even removed some dry leaves while they were cleaning up the bits of roofing tile that had fallen. I cannot recommend this company highly enough.

The Whiting Company did an excellent job in all respects: a quick comprehensive estimate, help in selecting shingle color, and quick installation after I signed the contract. I liked the estimator's suggested package of protective underlayers under the shingles, and new edging and new flashing and new boots around the stack pipes. They even paint the stack pipes to complement the color shade of the shingles. The architectural shingles look wonderful, and are made to last 50 years. I sought and received several estimates for the work and picked Whiting based on plans for using quality, effective materials, the price, and based on their excellent rating on Angie's List. Plus the contract includes a 10-year warranty on the labor. I highly recommend them--if they prove to be your best bidder for quality, service and price. I suggest that every consumer seek at least three companies' estimates before choosing one; the estimator's visit/estimate is free. I had Whiting replace the gutter system, too, because my old gutter system was not angled correctly to drain toward downspouts, and the original color was faded and dingy. I paid for the extra leaf guard on the gutters to prevent gutter clogs during the year. I won't know until the spring rains and the fall leaves whether the guard system is effective at both draining heavy rain and repelling falling leaves. For all reasons stated above, I highly recommend The Whiting Co. for roof and gutter work.

Owner Tim was more than accommodating and even pushed up installation one day to accommodate my schedule and to beat the weather. 5 days from visit to newly installed roof. They also fixed my facia in several areas at no additional cost. I didn't realize it was all fixed until I went to fix it and discovered they did it for me. I was elated.

The Whiting co., crew arrived on the day the work was scheduled, on time. Guys got to work right a way, everything was done in just over two days. The quality of work is excellent, house looks very nice. I am very happy with new siding.

This was by far the worse contractor that I have worked with. I needed a new front door and storm door installation. The company came out, estimated the project and provided an estimate that was higher than others that we received. But, because Whiting had good reviews, we went with them. Scheduling was difficult but understandable to a point. Initially, the salesperson said we could schedule us for a install date around Dec 23. The 23rd came and went, as did the new year, and we didn't hear a word. Finally, we had a date set for early January. The installer called to cancel the day before and rescheduled for the following weekend. The next week, we had another cancellation, and rescheduled for the following week. Things happen, which I get, but having to take off of work for cancelled appointments was getting tiresome, and gave it one final shot. The installer finally came out on the 3rd attempt. This is where things get really bad. The installer had to cut into brick in order to remove the old frame and put the new door frame in. This was always a part of the project, I thought they would have accounted for this, but it turns out they didn't, at least from the perspective of making sure they respected our home. I was downstairs doing some work when I heard my home fire alarm going off. I ran upstairs to see what is going on and there is a thick cloud of dust and debris all throughout the main floor and upstairs of my home. The installer took very little precaution to make sure that he kept the dust/dirt/debris out of our home and absolutely everything was covered with dust. I have a 1 year old and an asthmatic wife, and the fact that the installer didn't even mention to possibility of this occurring was honestly a little ridiculous. The fact that the installer's boss debated how bad the situation was (we have a Nest cam and have the installer working on tape w/o taking precaution to minimize the the incredible amount of dust/debris caused by the project) was just the icing on the cake. Fastforward through a billing issue, the project not being completed on the install date, the installer taking more than a week to come back out and finish caulking the front door, and very little in terms of an apology from the company (they did pay to have a cleaning service come to our home after my wife and I spent the night sweeping, mopping, and dusting), and I'm glad this experience is over. I would not recommend this company and am sharing this experience with as many people as I can.

I obtained quotes from several companies for a new Roof and I am so glad I went with Whiting. They used high end materials, worked quickly with no fuss, and they were kind enough to wait for my insurance reimbursement to come in for me to make the final payment. Their pricing was very reasonable especially with the angie's list deal that they were running at the time, and I had great peace of mind from all of the positive reviews I read online. Another great upside is that the warranty on the roof is transferable when I sell the home. Great perk for down the line. Kim S.

Without a doubt, I would hire this company again. They did such an outstanding job replacing the shingles on my roof, that four of my neighbors also hired this company in the days and weeks after that to replace the shingles on their roofs. The price and quality of work were excellent. Attention to even the smallest detail was excellent. Don, the salesman, went over every detail of the work to be done, explained the process to me and was on the job site when the work was being done to ensure that I would be pleased and happy with the result. I could not have been happier with the final product. I give them an A+ rating.

We received an estimate. It was similar-to 2 other estimates but I liked Dar the representative, so we chose Whiting; the work was done in 2 visits/ 1 for the roof, 1 for the soffit and fascia.

Great. Some tire sink spots created in the yard, but that's to be expected from the crane and large trucks.

Quality of work fine, but slow to start. Logistically unimpressive (asking me to get packing permits & BGE repair new to deal with wiping when they should have done this-and they ultimately did-themselves). Feel like they were amateurs at doing a city row house even though they claimed exporting.

He was the nicest man I have ever met! He took his time to come out on a Saturday morning, gave a presentation to my husband and I, and he explained everything. Nobody could beat his price, nobody could beat the timeframe work. He got started immediately, he got the materials ordered, he recommended colors. It just looks phenomenal! It is so gorgeous, and every time I look at it, I am like. Thanks Tim Whiting & thank Angie?s List! I have recommended to like 10 people. It started to snow 2 hours after the guys finished the job. They worked in the most bitter cold. The staffing bought this big crane and bought all the materials and left it on the house. They don?t leave anything in your front yard, it is all piled on top of the house. Then a different crew comes and they were phenomenal! They worked so good and so hard, only one of them speak English, it was like a family of people. We gave a $20 tip to every single man who worked on that roof, because they worked so hard out in the cold, and we gave them hot coffee & coco. They didn?t leave any trash, they took their lunch breaks inside their trucks. I told them they could use the bathrooms and they never did that. They were so grateful! They cleaned up so well, there was only a few pieces of metal we found in the Spring time. It was a really good price! He had the Angie's List coupon and he gave us a discount. It is a 50 year roof.

Installation was done in two steps first roof was installed, then in a couple of weeks gutters.

The Whiting Co crew arrived on time and were absolute professionals throughout. The entire process took less than 3 hours and the crew renowned all traces of their work-nails, old roofing, etc. They ever swept the pore under-neath.

The roofers were on time, worked efficiently and did an absolutely incredible job cleaning up.

Technician did not arrive on the day scheduled or call. When he did call, he came same day and did a great job for a great price. He explained and showed me the roofing problem before fixing it and repaired the siding. He even helped us load a heavy item into a car. Price for roof and siding repairs was half a quote from another company for just the roof repair. I would call them again.

I always like to wait a while before reviewing any product or service. The Whiting Co did a whole roof shingle replacement and their work was excellent. Right from the go their sales staff was patient, willing to answer all my questions, show me one sample home after another as we changed our mind on what we wanted. Once the work started they were on time and did a fantastic job. As an example, when the shingles were delivered the delivery guy told me that the crane could possibly destroy my irrigation system. I called the owner of the Whiting company and he advised me against letting the truck and crane get on my lawn. The work was still done using the agreed upon price and time. They took on the inconvenience of having to move all the gear up to the roof. The work was clean, the staff was polite and professional.

The roof and gutters look great! The people I dealt with from the first phone call to the finished product were professional and efficient. The price paid for the services provided was excellent! My only complaint would be in the area of communication. I was told work would begin within 2 weeks but was not given an exact starting date and was very surprised when the workmen arrived as I was heading to work.

I was very pleased with the Whiting Co. After speaking to Tim Whiting on the phone, we met with Don Nicholson who took care of the business side. It was definitely not a high pressure sales situation and I really appreciated that. Don was friendly and easy-going and presented the information in a professional manner. The price for the project was very reasonable and we took advantage of the financing option which was finalized that same afternoon. The work was done on separate days - first the roof and then the gutters. Both of the contractors did a great job. They arrived early, but not too early, completed the job in one day, and left the yard and deck area clean. All in all a great experience.
