We ran into an issue that Whiting was eager to remedy in a timely fashion.

The gutters on the garage also had to go and that boosted the price but the results were great.

Professional, honest, reliable, and skilled. We unfortunately got rained out for our appointment. They rescheduled for the next available time (first thing the very next day). They let me know when they would have materials delivered. When they put on the new roof they completed it within half a day on schedule, they cleaned up nicely, and did a very good job. It rained that night, but we had no issues!! Great work!

Job went very well -- The whole job was very quick and efficient. The new roof looks great and they left the work area very clean and tidy. I couldn't believe how quick the job went. They were also very accommodating and worked around a partially blocked driveway.

Estimator extremely unprofessional and took up three hours of a beautiful Saturday afternoon as we were trying to get the contract written up. He would not stop talking. We finally cancelled the contract later that day due to his unprofessionalism and our concerns that this might be reflected throughout the company in their work.

Very well. "Dave", Whiting Company's slate specialist, is arguably the best in this area. We especially liked two things about Dave: (1) He took total responsibility for all the work needed above the roof line, including substantial chimney repair. Another contractor asked us to separately hire a mason. (2) He recommended that we re-install snow guards in copper. Our home was built with galvanized steel guards, which were mostly removed, probably because they eventually rusted and looked terrible. I asked about installing a copper ridge piece for aesthetic reasons, but that was not part of the original architecture and, in retrospect, would have looked odd. Dave's suggestion told me he had a good sense of style as well as roof mechanics. Our home looks great with the copper snow guards!

The gentlemen were punctual, showed me pictures of what needed to be repaired and pictures following the repair.

The work itself was done very well and I'm happy with the roof. For warranty purposes I need a receipt. There is a warranty mentioned in the estimate. The labor is guaranteed for 10 years and the materials for 50 years. I've talked with Tim Whiting, who seems to be a senior person in the company, over the phone twice and through email who states he will get me a receipt, however, it never shows up.

Took a little while to schedule, but was done well.

It took a while for my initial inquiry for a quote to be answered. I received a call back a week or so after leaving a message. Once I scheduled an appointment, the rest of the process was pretty seamless. I had already signed a contract with another company and had one remaining day to cancel, so a salesman came to my home very quickly to give me the demo and discuss price. The Angie's List price was comparable to other companies' discounted prices. A few days after signing the initial contract, I added two additional windows to my order, which communicated via text and I just had to sign an addendum and email it back. It took less time than expected for the window delivery. Scheduling the installation appointment was done quickly. The installation was originally scheduled for a Friday, but because they were calling for rain, the main point of contact decided to do the installation the next day, which required some last-minute schedule adjustments on my end. The three installers showed up on time (8 am-ish), they completed the installation of my seven windows by mid-afternoon (before 3 pm), they cleaned up after themselves as they were working, and appeared to work pretty efficiently. The windows look fantastic, from the inside and outside. I can already feel the difference in my home; it's not as hot as it usually is in the summer. The only thing I wish I had known was that the new windows would take up most of the bracket space. The blinds I had were pretty expensive custom blinds, and now I have to install curtains because there is no space to re-install my blinds. Overall, fantastic work and I would definitely hire The Whiting Company again.

The window replacement was done efficiently and to high quality, and the windows look great. The only difficulty was with communication. After we ordered the windows, the supplier apparently stopped selling them to the Whiting Co., but they didn't call to tell us this -- instead, they sent somebody else to re-measure. I had to call again a few times to figure out what was going on, and the installation happened after my last call -- I'm not sure whether it was a coincidence, or how long I would have waited if I didn't call.

The Whiting Company did an excellent job on our roof. The assessor who came to give us a quote was very helpful and knowledgeable. The shingles were delivered the day before the work began, and the work crew showed up promptly on the day the work was to be done. The crew took care to protect the area surrounding the house from falling debris, and afterwards even swept the yard with a metal detector to try to find any loose nails. On the whole they did an excellent job, and the roof looks great.

The installation took about 3 days with bad weather delaying parts of it. The crew was very professional and cleaned up well afterwards.

They had to come back and do some touch up work. We spent almost three times as much as the original price. It took awhile to come back and do the touch up work. They did a good job overall. There were two crews. One had to do the siding, one had to do the down spouts and gutters. Coordinating stuff was kind of cumbersome and he said they were suppose to come back a certain day and they didn't, it took longer. The biggest thing that needed done, they got it done. They took on the job that other contractors said was too much. I would use them again, I would just know what to expect. The main thing is don't pay them until they get everything done. The work turned out okay. I thought the price was good. The quality was good.

They did an excellent job on the roof and followed up and addressed it when we had a couple of issues. I would definitely choose them again for the roof, which is their main line of business. The skylight was an addon that was convenient to do at the same time. The carpentry was a bit sloppy and we had to work around this, but the skylight is otherwise satisfactory.

They are excellent, superb! They were very polite to our neighbors, they did follow uyo work and cleaned up our neighbors yards and decks from the debris of our roof, they covered our stairs and driveway with tarps to prevent damage/messes.

The roof looks great and I think the workers did a very nice job. However, we were surprised that we had to replace almost all of the old wood underneath (which added 4K to the total cost). Was hard to know if this was truly necessary as the roofing guy showed just a few samples of rotten wood, and you just have to trust that they are not taking advantage of you. Because they had to replace the roof down to the wood, there was a lot of debris in our attic. I wish they would have tried to clean it up a little since they must have seen some of this.. there were nails, sharp pieces of wood debris, etc. It wasn't just sawdust. They also broke one of our overhead lights in the attic. So we spent an hour wearing masks and cleaning it up on our own! I don't know if this falls into the required job description for them to pay attention to this, but anyway it was not ideal. And for the cost of the project we expected more. They did do a fabulous job cleaning up on our front yard and backyard, so if you don't need the wood replaced, it would be fine. In terms of the gutters, the end result is fine. But it was challenging to communicate with the gutter guy, who is an older Asian man with limited fluency in English. After the job was done, we had some questions and everything had to be relayed through Don Nicholson. We felt that the gutters were downsloped too much in one area, and it looked odd that they were hanging off the house. It was nice that Don was willing to come out again and meet us to go over everything, but it somehow prolonged the whole process. At any rate, overall they did a decent job overall but there were a few stressful issues along the way.

I am extremely satisfied with my new siding and with the overall process of dealing with Whiting Co. The company provided very high quality work for a reasonable cost. Tony was responsive and pleasant to work with from the time he came out to do the estimate through completion. He was also very accommodating with my renovation financing program. The entire job was completed in 3 business days allowing for weather disruptions.

Prompt, well-done, cleaned up very well after the work was done.

Process was very easy. Price was fair and no pressure sell process (which anyone who had company coming in for a roof quote can appreciate). Once I made up my mind they were at the house within 2 weeks of signing my contract. It took 2 days for work to be completed. Roofer were late the second day (because of a car issue)... But this did not affect them finishing the project as expected. They came back later that day to inspect finished work with me (which means I did not have to take time off work). Few damage to my landscape was fixed within a few days after I reported it. Overall very happy and would recommend without second thought.

We had a team come out on 3 separate days for each phase -- roofing, siding, and gutters -- of work. They were punctual, professional, and left the exterior broom clean. With our new roofing, siding, and gutters, OUR HOUSE LOOKS LIKE BRAND NEW! We get many compliments from our neighbors on the quality of the work and the overall look.

Everything went great. They came out a measured my windows. About 3 weeks later, I had 5 custom windows installed. The installers were on time, very neat and look like they did a good job installing the windows. Around the outside, the windows were capped and afterwards they showed me how to open and clean them. I will be calling them up once I save up for my other windows.

It was a great experience recently I have had to hire several contractors. Working with them was a pleasure. They came when they said they would. They did a great job. They cleaned up after themselves. But to me even more importantly I called them they had forgot to put a light up on the back of the house. I called them once and no argument or issues. They just had someone come out and put the light on. I hadn't even realized they had been there it was so quick. So would I use them and recommend them in the future absolutely and I have worked with several other contractors and that wasn't the experience.
