Description of Work: I contacted this company and they never responded to my e-mail, so I called them up. I asked for an estimate for a patio and some landscaping. The gentleman that I spoke with ask how big and I told him that I really didn't know but would want someone to come and talk with me as far as what would look good size and shape etc. He quoted me a price fo a certain size patio as if to deter me from getting a patio as it would be quite expensive. I stated that I would like someone to come out to talk and give ideas etc. The person did come out to give an estimate but again wanted me to give him all the ideas and info when I had told him I was looking to see what he would recommend for the space. Again, not much feedback from him and he really spent no time looking at the area and figuring out what would work with my ideas nor did he give me many ideas. I think I talked with him maybe 10 min as with the other two companies I was out there at least 30 min. They just didn't seem too interested in my job...so I obviously went with someone else!

Description of Work: These guys were great. Very prompt, courteous. They took care of my irrigation, my estimate was sent to me in less than a week.They must have been very busy with appointments lined up, but they had no problem fitting me in at the last minute during the week I decided to be off from work. I loved the idea that they worked with my schedule and not the other way around as most companies now do. The person who took care of irrigation was Javier. He and his team worked all day and made sure they cleaned up after themselves and when I had an issue with one sprinkler head about a month later, I called the company. I left a message for someone to come down and take a look at the sprinkler. I told them that I could be home that same evvening at 4pm or if it was not possible I wanted to set up an appointment. I was pleasantly surprised when 2 hours later they called me back and said they will have Javier out to my home at around 4pm which was convenient for me. Javier tested the sprinklers and said he will take care of it and went digging and straightened out the problem. Took about 30 minutes. The problem was that one of my sprinkler heads came up crooked and leaned over. It was due to me driving over it at times especially when the ground was very wet from heavy rain storms we have been having. He answered more questions and concerns I had about working my sprinkler system. He was very reassuring. Always saying call him if we had questions and that it would not be a problem for him to come down. I never went down to their office in Gambrills. Everything was done over the phone or by email. The ladies Virginia and Jill were pleasant and were on top of things. My estimates were received by email and I even paid over the phone. This was very convenient for me as I work full time and don't have a set schedule. I had also called them in for a sod installation estimate. I had gotten a total of 4 estimates from 4 companies and theirs was very inexpensive and affordable. The gentlemen I was working with was Louis and though I had never met him in person he was very helpful over the phone. Even when I changed my mind and went with power seeding, Louis emailed and said he understood and proceeded to list some very detailed and helpful hints like what would work best and what to stay away from and then how it should be applied. Information I never asked for. Just shows that Chesapeake Landscaping has some very passionate employees. Thank you all for your help. I will use this company again in the future and I will refer them to friends and family. You just don't see customer service like this anymore. I can't even get the cable company to install cable on a day I am available. I either make myself available if I want their service or I'm without cable TV. Anyway, thanks again Chesapeake!

Mr. Dave Kraft knew exactly what my husband and I were envisioning for the garden and gave several options on how to complete it. Mr. Kraft and his crew came exactly on time and the crew were hard at work before we even had time to put our shoes on and meet them outside. High praise goes out to all the crew members. I have never met such a hard-working, professional, and polite group of workers EVER! They completed their work down to the last detail, even tidying up our front and side yards with removing weeds, debris, redefining the edges of other beds, and mulching around ALL of our plants, trees, and bushes. Work thats not in the contract at all. When the gentlemen from Chesapeake Landscape & Design left that evening, I was so in awe of the work they had done in just one day, I just couldn't stop smiling.
Description of Work: The contract included the removal of old, rotted landscape timbers & installing EP Henry curbstone edging to our flower borders in the back garden (approx 110 linear feet). Installing a drain box and hose to an area in the yard that would flood almost every time it rained, the removal of two small oak trees to grade, and applying mulch to the borders. Although that is what was listed in the contract, they did so much more to the surrounding beds and borders (in front and on the sides of the house) to make the whole landscape just absolutely beautiful.

+ 0 moreEd came out and looked at other homes to get a feel of what was being done in the area before meeting with us. He asked lots of questions to get a feel from us what we liked and disliked. He supplied us with artwork to show us what it would look like, before the work was to start. Work was done in about 2 days, and I tell you our yard went from being the worst to the best in those 2 days with our neigbors coming over to say how nice it looked
Description of Work: Front yard - excavation for new landscaping, furnish & install 35 linear feet of average 12" high, light brown, flat stone wall(s), hand laid without mortar. Walls to create upper & lower level terraces. Top terrace to consist of existing plant material, mid level to consist of low maintenance dwarf shrubs & mulch, lower level to consist of low maintenance perennials in various colors to match house & trim colors. All three levels mulched. Back yard - area under deck to be cleared & have geotextile blanket laid at 4" below grade and have stone bed. Area from bottom step curving around to right edge of deck to be mulched & lined with border pavers with colorful midsized, moist soil shrub to be placed @ left of steps.
