Went very well, good windows, workers very skilled and professional, electric bills dropped this winter.

Scott was great to work with. We had no issues getting a quote, putting in the order, and setting up the installation. What I really liked is that Scott visits each work site to make sure everything is running smoothly. Which it did. I highly recommend this company.

Scott gave me a quote for the windows the day I contacted him. He also came to my apartment to show me a window sample and determine the choice of color - the outside color had to match my coop's standard brown color. After signing the contract, there was a quick appointment to measure the windows then about a 5-week wait for the windows to be made. The folks at Zen Windows were very flexible regarding installation dates - we had to reschedule once due to a snow storm - and very conscientious about the safety of our neighbors' property. The installation took about 8 hours. I'm extremely happy with my new windows.

Just had my windows replaced with Zen. What a stress free experience from beginning to end! Scott, the owner oversaw the project and was very pleasant to work with. Got beautiful high quality windows for an extremely competitive rate.

Scott was great. He came and met with my husband, answered his questions and guided him through the process. We looked at 4 companies, Zen windows was in the middle of the cost ranges which were 8.5K-12K. We went with Zen because they had a good balance of quality windows (they provide quantitative values to help you compare products) and their warranty was longer and covered more than the cheaper companies and it's transferable. When we agreed to move forward we let him know via email and within an hour had a contract in our inbox to review and sign. Once signed we got a call about scheduling a person to come measure all the windows. That person is from the manufacturer and was personable and timely though I would say needed to explain the lead testing in further detail as it required me to contact Scott after install/final bill to get some clarification. For awareness homes build prior to 1970s will receive a lead test and if ANY test comes back positive you will be charged $50/window for ALL windows. This was the case for 2 of 4 companies we spoke with. After the measurements were completed we waited 1-2 weeks to get a call about install. Install was scheduled for about 3-4 weeks after the initial contact so all this was done in less than a month! Install went smoothly. We were asked to move furniture and other items about 10ft away from each window. The workers covered furniture and floors for install. All 3 installers worked 9-4 or so and finished in one day! They did a great job cleaning up, even mopping up (potentially because we did have lead so they took extra care to clean up). Scott, the owner, came out for part of the install to oversee. All staff were helpful and answered questions. After install Scott answered some of my follow up questions in a polite and professional manner. All correspondence was within 24 hours (and most within 12) of sending an email. Overall I think we got great looking windows we like, installed efficiently, old ones taken away (we kept some and they installers did their best to keep the windows we wanted to keep in tacked), the owner is timely and reasonable and helps educate the customer. I would defiantly recommend them and use them again.

I got eight quotes over the course of two years and chose Zen Windows for several reasons: Scott was wonderful to work with, responsive, helpful and conscientious; he asked for no money down; offered a really great warranty, and the pricing was in keeping with several others – it seemed reasonable. The crew that came out were incredibly impressive and stayed nearly 11 hours to get the job done. Everything looks great – couldn’t be more pleased with the experience.

It only took 30 minutes from Scott returned the call, dropped by, met me at rental unit and gave me a quote late Fri right before Memorial Weekend. I needed the quote to compare with HD, saved $100+ at least per window, not to mention Scott listened to my concern, and noticed the tempered glass needed for 3 big ones (I didn't notice and HD did not see), signed the contract right then. Detailed measurement and lead inspection was done within a few days. Only took 3 weeks for the windows to make. The installation crew were early, gave me a call 30 minutes before arrival, job was done in 5 hours, extremely efficient and attention to details. They even came by for a very small job to fix a missing cover on the structure not related to windows installation, just tremendous help. Thanks Scott and Zen Windows team

Scott Halle, the owner of the company was so nice and responded very quickly for all of my inquires. His team came over on time and finished the work exactly as Scott told me in advance. He also visited a couple of times during the day to make sure everything is okay. The house looks much nicer than before after the job was done. Very satisfied and highly recommend to anyone who need windows service, as I already did with our neighbors.

I have nothing but good things to say about Scott Halle of Zen windows, the windows themselves, and the installation crew that performed the work. I had been looking for windows for about a year making calls, enduring sales pitches, etc. Eventually did enough reading to identify some very well regarded window manufacturers, one of which was Soft-Lite. When I went to the Soft-Lite website to find a dealer near me it listed Zen Windows as an option. A quick check of the company revealed favorable reviews so I emailed the company on a Sunday morning and within an hour or so was speaking with Scott Halle, the owner of Zen Windows Washington DC. Scott is a very personable fellow, had me measure a few windows and from that was able to give me a rough estimate that evening. Zen offers basically 2 Soft-Lite products, the Nirvana which is the Soft-Lite Classic...a double pane window and the Lotus which is a the Soft-Lite Pro series and a triple pane window. Scott brought a sample of each to the house and after a discussion we agreed that the Nirvana was a good fit for my interests. There was no pressure to buy the more expensive window. Scott noted the pricier option's features, but also noted that most of his customers choose to go with the Nirvana. Once I decided to go forward with Zen, Scott arranged for someone to come over for an accurate measure of each window and the final quote was actually less than the original because there is a discount for a cash sale. The windows were ready a few weeks later and the installation was scheduled for Saturday, April 22....a day that was darn near constant rain. Never the less, the three gentlemen that arrived for installation braved the elements, removed the old windows, reported to me the condition of the framing as they went because I was worried about bugs and such, installed the new windows, and capped them with aluminum trim. Installation quality was superb, Alex and his crew were very pleasant and considerate of our house and tracking stuff in from outdoors, couldn't be happier. Naturally, I would prefer to not spend close to $10,000 on windows again, but if the need arises in the future I will call Scott. FYI, I am not affiliated with Soft-Lite or Zen, had never met Scott before, and am truly pleased with this experience.

Scott's team did an excellent job. This is the second time we have used Zen Windows for a project. They are responsive, punctual, and deliver an outstanding product, which makes them a favorite to work with.

The work was done well and ahead of schedule. The owner was professional and responsive. The windows look great and our house is so much warmer -- the house used to get quite drafty in the winter.

Very well. The side door is beautifully weathertight and so are the patio doors. Rooms feel warmer, less drafty.

Fantastic! I greatly enjoyed interacting with Zen Windows. Getting a quote was a stress-free process. Scott came to the house and was able to provide a quote on the spot. Unlike other window companies and big box stores, Zen does not harass you on the phone. Scott made it very clear that he would be standing by to answer any questions/concerns. He was going to let us make our decision without interruption. After looking at the product, the warranty, and the installation details, we decided to go with Zen. The lead time for the windows was reasonable and the installers were very professional. It was great interacting with the owner the entire time. He was very responsive and visited the job site every time the installers were here. Given this was an old brick house, the installers took their time making sure each cut was correct, level, and plumb. The outside finishing work was also impressive. The windows look fantastic and have received many complements from neighbors. I will definitely consider Zen for future door replacement.

The service was excellent from the beginning to the end. The owner (Scott) was able to give me an accurate quote very quickly through the phone. Some other companies can't even give a rough estimate without visiting the place, which is quite annoying. Anyway, once I decided to go with Zen Windows, it took approximately a week for someone to come to measure the windows, and then approximately three weeks for the installers to come. The work was done in less than 6 hours, and I am totally satisfied. I highly recommend this company.

Zen's window installation was scheduled promptly. They installed the windows on the date they had schedule. The installation was clean and neat and the windows look great. Our GC on the rest of the renovation was very impressed with the job and went out of his way to complement the job. We could not be happier!

We interviewed four other companies before we spoke to Scott Halle, the owner of Zen Windows of Washington. The others may be fine companies, but Scott was completely outstanding. His responsiveness, attention to detail and desire to please made it the best home remodeling project that we have ever experienced. Additionally the windows and doors live up to the high ratings that I read about in reviews. And the installers were tops. They were neat, quick, pleasant, quiet and clean. After such a pleasant experience with our first set of windows earlier this year we decided to continue to complete our around the house replacement. These windows were larger and needed tempered glass so were more expensive than the last set but there was some discount for repeat customers. It was de ja vu all over again! We received excellent product, installation, and a limited lifetime guarantee even against internal condensation that plagues the poorly engineered windows of today. Installation was completed in 2 1/2 hours. I am very happy with Zen Windows, Soft-Lite Windows, and Scott Halle. I would definitely recommend Scott and his team for any of your window needs.

Scott has been absolutely fantastic. I needed a single storm window replacement. Scott told me that order would hardly make business sense for him, and referred me to the manufacturer from which he normally orders windows. I called them. They were not interested in talking to me, saying that they only deal with contractors. When I told Scott, he readily and cheerfully agreed to help me out, acting as the contractor in this case, even though his profit would be negligible. To make sure the order would be correct, Scott came by my house to measure the window, pick up a damaged window, and match colors to existing window. He immediately placed the order, quoting me the very reasonable price of approximately $280, to be paid to him when the window was finally produced. Conclusion: There is nothing Scott could have done to satisfy me and to help me out that he did not do. He is truly a paragon of responsible and responsive business practices and customer service.

The project we are doing has some unusual material requirements, so we weren't able to use Zen, but I would definitely contact Scott again if we have any other window needs in the future.
